Yeah, it was awful. At least I could keep Water and chicken broth down. I'm been working slowly to building back up to more purees again, but I definitely didn't want to risk it last week.
Otherwise, I'm doing okay. Been struggling with hitting my goals the last couple of days, which I assume is because I feel not great still. But I'm listening to my body. Eating and drinking until it feels like I can't and then pausing for a while. (Obviously, not eating and drinking together, but you know what I mean.)
I go for my next post-op appointment on Wednesday. That will be my 1 month check-in. I can actually feel more weight loss in my legs and places around my stomach. I'm curious to see how much weight I do end up losing after all this. Like, I noticed my weight loss in how my clothes fit before my 10-day post-op. But I can actually feel it in places on my body when touching them now, so that's going to be interesting.
We go on vacation 10/6 and we've already talked about my clothing situation. Even my bras need to be replaced at this point. But since I don't go anywhere except the doctors appointments right now, I'm going to make what I have currently work for the next couple of weeks. And then on our way down to our vacation spot on the 6th, we're going to stop by the outlet store and get me some new clothes and get properly fitted for the correct size bra. That way I have the most accurate fit for clothes for a couple of months. lol
I still need to catch up on reading the forums. Hopefully I can get to that this weekend.

    Hey all,
I'll catch up on reading soon. It's been a rough few weeks. I caught a stomach bug last week and thought I was gonna die. And yesterday I woke up with a runny nose and muscles aches, same today. The fatigue seems to be worse these last two weeks too, but I'm guessing that's because my immune system got shot. But that is why I've not been around, I've literally been wanting to die. It has taken everything in me to be able to push through work and classwork before I pass out for hours on end.
Just wanted to give you an update. 0/10 recommend on getting a stomach bug after gastric surgery.

Ooh I am so sorry that you went through that, sounds awful. My hubby got it and thankfully he had been super careful around me since surgery for fear of just what happened to you. When he even thought he may be getting sick (just didn’t feel quite right) he told me so we could take precautions and he slept on the couch. Sure enough less than two days later he had it. I was fortunate enough that I didn’t have to go out much so him giving me something was my only real risk. I’m glad to hear that you are feeling a little better now, though. I couldn’t imagine a stomach flu with all of this. I was afraid of just coughing and sneezing but vomiting OMG. I do not envy you for that. How are you doing otherwise?

Oh, @draikaina8503, I'm so sorry to hear that! Sending all the healing your way and hoping you feel all the way better very soon. If you have the option, you might want to check in with your medical team and ask if they have any suggestions in terms of Vitamins, zinc, etc. to help boost your immune system while you fight the germs. Hang in there and be good to yourself!

I am on the pureed stage too, and it is very easy to fall into that trap. I make myself take an hour to eat my 'meal' so that I don't feel punished.

Wow you have progressed so quickly. I know each plan is different but holy cow that's so fast! "General food time" for me isn't until 6 months post-op. Congrats to you!
Definitely listening to your body is the important thing going forward. I'm in the puree stage, but I'm sticking more to the liquids at this point because I'm nervous about the fact that I'm still not getting full signals. So I really don't want to push myself too much.

For one thing if you have Netflix or something similar where you can avoid commercials consider that instead of regular TV and if you like puzzles or crafts of any kind (even drawing or coloring) try that to keep your hands and a portion of your brain occupied. I crochet and that worked for me. When the cravings were strong I would pick up my project until it passed. Also try to avoid anything that will cause you stress or anxiety which may make you want to turn to food. Obviously that isn’t a tactic you can use long term. But at least until giving into your cravings won’t physically hurt your body. These things have worked for me so far.

Well surgery was a success on the 26th!! I'm 5 days post op today! I just want to say that head hunger is a real thing, how did u guys get past this stage?? I have been on liquids since the 23rd and it's been a struggle for real, I thought after it would be easier because I don't actually feel hungry but physically I don't feel hungry it's just the mental aspect that gets me... I'm ready for these few weeks to fly by so I can begin to eat regularly again.

Hello everyone. I hope you all are having a more exciting kickoff to your holiday weekend than I am. (Hubby had to work half the night so I’m just here watching TV. I had two things I wanted to post but now I’m only remembering one for some reason.

The first was my annoying stitch. Yes. I have this one stitch at the end of an incision that is sticking straight up and every-time my arm brushes across it the incision feels like it’s being pulled. Been driving me nuts for three days since the steri strip came off. Well I finally came up with a solution. Two shirts. It doesn’t poke through the second shirt so when brush past it doesn’t snag it. Not sure how common it is but just in case there it is.

Ooh my second thing. Motivation for exercise. My good friend that lives in another city came up with a great idea to motivate us both to exercise. We are going to do it together. But instead of driving an hour each was everyday we are just going to walk at the same time and talk on the phone while we do it. We are starting tomorrow night. Just thought I would share in case that idea works for someone else.

i hope everyone has a good night.

Hi everyone! I’ll be officially one month tomorrow!! I’m so excited! So even though it’s “general food time” I’m still sticking to soft for now. I’m still about 2-3 oz per meal every 3 hrs. I figured it’s best to take it slow and hear out my body that rush this journey. I can finally intake a liter of water! It’s been great 😊 going back to the gym feeling so light. I’m already starting to feel small in some of the clothes I wear. I hope everyone is have excellent progress and feeling better and better!

Yep! It’s great! I use it for scrambled tofu or when I cook vegetarian dishes. It’s not a spicy spice and adds great color and flavor.

If they don’t hurt you then go for it!! My NCIS ions still hurt though and the waist would run them and press on them. Just sounds painful. I am a revision too and had gallbladder out so more incisions and a couple I think they may have gone back in the same spot through scar tissue (not sure if that makes ot worse for healing). I just keep on trying to figure out why it’s so much worse this time because I’m telling you after my sleeve I was up bugging the nurses the same day and hime the next wanting to play Horse in basketball (I literally gestured to my husband to pass me the ball when I was out front talking to him. I forgot I had surgery). Soooo much differnt this time.

Hey If they work they work. I was just curious how much actual Tumeric and Cinnamon were in them since the few I read the backs of online said to contact them for nutritional information. Thanks for the info.
