    No alcohol for one year?

    I have never heard of that. I also enjoy having an occasional glass of wine or cocktail and have done so since being banded. Like Luluc I have to count the calories and cut back somewhere else or add extra exercise. Every surgeon is different - ask next you go in for reasoning.

    What was your "Moment"?

    My story... I have been heavy all of my life...although I was overweight, I was a very active child - swam competively for years. In college things just spiraled out of control - I was no longer swimming and hit 262 (5'10") - that was the last time I weighed myself and am sure that I got higher. It got to the point that I would only wear sweat pants cause nothing else really fit. After college I lost weight by going on extreme diets and working out for hours. In 2004 I made it to my lowest at 178 but was eating about 500 calories and working out 6 days a week for 2 hours. I was always hungry and drank coffee to numb it. Food was this horrible issue. In 2006 I had my first son and gained 60+ lbs - I only lost 30 of it. I then had my daughter this year (July 2008) and gained an additional 20. I was at 225. While my BMI was not excessively high (32) I realized that this was the time to do it. I was back to wearing sweats, feeling horrible about myself and was beginning to effect my relationships. My "moment" came when I yelled at my husband for giving our son a french fry..."I don't want him to be fat" WHOA. I don't want my children to have the issues with food that I have. I am back to wearing regular clothes. I have a way to go, but am losing weight without being hungry. I am eating in moderation. I still struggle but know that it will get easier.

    B - Fiber One Chewy Bar (140 cal) S - Coffee w/splash of milk and splenda L - handful of french fries :rolleyes2: S - FF yogurt D - one bite of clam chowder & one tomato slice and fresh mozzarella (something got stuck) S - FF pudding X 2

  6. I am so sorry for your incredible loss. Allow yourself to grieve as only this will help you heal. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
  7. Clear liquids first four days, full liquids for two weeks, mushies week three and four, soft foods five and six. I would call your nutritionist to make sure. Although it is hard, I would be cautious and do what the more conservative of the two say just to be safe. Good luck!

    B - Pure Protein Shake L - 3/4 cup of cesear salad and 2 oz grilled chicken S - saltines and cream cheese D - Chicken Thyme soup - only ate chicken and veggies S - oh boy this is where I am disappointed in myself...1/2 cup of banana cream pie S - 3 bites of chocolate chip cookie dough I knew I had no business eating the pie and then got depressed and reverted to old habits and went for the cookie dough...will I ever get past my food issues???

    Yesterday: B - Pure Protein Shake L - 1 cup chicken tortilla soup minus the tortilla strips S - 1 oz pepperjack cheese D - Pinto beans mixed w/some chicken, zucchini, roasted corn, fresh salsa and a sprinkle of cheese (total was about a cup) S - tuna w/a dab of mayo...ate to fast and got stuck...I know random late night snack but was starving!

    Thanks Luluc for the recipe - will try some this week! Question for all experienced bandsters: How long did it take you to learn the "new" full feeling? Do you measure your food? B - Pure Protein shake S - Decaf coffee w/milk L - grapes, blackberries and a few bites of banana D - 3/4 cup of lasagna, glass of red wine (drank majority of wine prior to food) S - chocolate chip cookie :biggrin:

    Can someone give me the ravioli recipe? I LOVE ravioli! Yesterday: B - Pure Protein shake L - 1/2 hamburger patty w/cheese - 3 fries S - 1/2 banana w/tad of Peanut Butter D - Chili cheese fries (probably 1 cup total) :thumbup: S - small handful of popcorn, one donut hole, 1/2 cup of chocolate, peanut butter & banana shake :girl_hug: We took our son to a huge holiday festival and obviously had junk food....I am trying not to be disappointed in myself for eating so much crap.

    B - Pure Protein Shake S - FF Medium Latte L - 3/4 cup of chicken noodle soup, 3 bites of bread crust D - 2 oz of chicken breast, bit of melted cheese & two bites of bacon (it was a sandwich from Chili's and only ate part of the innards and no bread) S - yogurt
  14. No shoulder pain - gas pain went away within a few days. I got a fill 4 weeks after my band was put in. Good Luck!

    B - Pure Protein Shake & few bites of crust w/peanut butter (my son doesn't eat crust) L - grilled chicken & grilled zucchinni - only a few bites because something ( I think zucchinni) got stuck S - 1 oz. pepperjack cheese D - small slice of thai chicken pizza & a bit of salad. First time having pizza and man did I pay the price...ended up sliming (first time) and part came up...not too mention the pain. S - SF, FF jello pudding

    B - Fiber One Chewy Bar S - NF Cappuccino L - 1.5 Fresh Thai Spring Rolls (chicken) & peanut dipping sauce S - 1 oz pepper jack cheese D - 3 small bites of multi-grain pancake (had uncomfortable feeling so stopped) S - 1/3 cucumber and hummus LNS (late night snack!) - cucumber & cream cheese & 4 saltines I'm hungry right now...trying to figure out if it is head hunger or real hunger. When will I ever figure myself out???:smile2:
  17. I too am a huge sushi fan and have eaten it. The problem w/sushi is that you automatically get a huge bite and end up chewing what seems like hours...although once chewed up it went down okay. As for lettuce, I have too had it and you just have to chew it up well...which can get kinda gross.

  20. I was banded on 10/21 and was stuck on the weight loss as well. Had a fill last Monday and the weight loss is picking up again. When are you scheduled for a fill? That should make a big difference.
  21. Hi - I had my first fill exactly one week ago...I was able to eat a grilled cheese w/no problems. So today went to have a little more added and now it hurts to eat. I can drink very very slowly and it took me an hour to finish a yogurt. Is it common to be tighter right after a fill? I am just concerned since my dr.'s office will be closed Thursday and Friday. Any past experiences and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    I have worked extensively w/physicians and trust me when I say they all love wine. I have given wine to several physicians and they get very happy!

    Thanks for the welcome! I love this thread. Too many bites for me to write down what I ate for the last two days...but know that I ate way less than what I would usually eat. Today: B - Pure Protein shake L - 2 small bites of toasted bagel & 1/4 cup tortilla Soup S - 2/3 nonfat yogurt approx. 100 calories D - Went to souplantion (also known as Fresh Choice) Couple bites of potato salad, beets, chicken broth, 3 bites of cream of chicken soup, 2 bites of frozen yogurt, some croutons w/ff ranch. Pretty good for a buffet!
