Hi Nicole, I am in the same situation, I want my band removed, it causes pain and discomfort alot. I am going to Dr Pleatman in Bloomfield Hills, MI, my band is being removed on April 26th and my Blue Cross Blue Shield is covering the removal. I hope this helps and if you ever want to talk let me know! Melinda

I'm so glad to hear that I'm not the only one who has had it like that. The first 2 weeks were great then nothing. I was getting really frustrated, then got my first fill and still nothing, then a pound or two, I have stayed the same for the last 3-4 weeks, can't wait for my next fill.

Hi Barbara I think the reason I am overeating is because I am at home the last couple of days. I tend to get stressed if I'm home for long periods of time with my husband and kids. It's also so hot outside the last 2 days that I can't take my baby outside to do anything. I know that's just an excuse and I should be more careful with what I'm eating but I'm having a really hard time getting back to that mind set. I think that's great what you do, I built a house right next to my grandfather so I would be there to take care of him. I think I'm the only one in my family that would be able to deal with him. He's kind of stubborn!! I will check out the tapes you suggested, thanks! Melinda

Hi! Congrats on the new "love nest" , right now I am very thankful that our place is air conditioned, 92 degrees today! I am really frustrated right now, I have gained 3 pounds in 2 days and I feel like I want to eat all the time. I don't go in for my 2nd fill until June 21st, hopefully this feeling will go away soon, otherwise I'll eat my way back up to where I started from. Melinda

I don't know if I qualify for the slow losers but I sure feel like it. I was banded March 23, 2006. I lost 13 lbs the first 2 weeks, got a fill at 6 weeks and have only lost 2 pounds since the initial 13. Any suggestions on how to get the weight coming off again?? Thanks Melinda

I'm a RMA and I work for an OB/GYN and remove staples alot. It is quite common for the staples to irritate the skin, the incision looks good but you should contact your Dr. Especially if you start having any drainage or oozing. Just try to make sure you keep them clean and dry. Hope this helps a little! Good luck Melinda

Just wanted to say Good Luck and I'll keep you in my thoughts! Best wishes Melinda

Thanks! I think I just need some encouragement, it's really hard not to eat like my family. I think I am going to try going back a few steps to the "mushy" stage and see if this helps. I am also hoping for a fill in the next 2-3 weeks, hopefully that will help with the hungry feeling that's driving me crazy! Thanks, Melinda Banded 3/23/06--13lbs

I'm curious about stretching my pouch because I can eat anything I want right now, I haven't had my first fill yet but is it normal to be able to sit down and eat an 8-inch sub at one time or am I stretching the pouch. I am 3 1/2 weeks post op and started solids about 5 days ago because I could never seem to get full. Any advice would be great because I seem to have put on 3 pounds in those 5 days! Thanks!

I'm 3 1/2 weeks post op and I feel like I can eat anything, I hope that's normal with no fill. I do wonder if I have slipped my band or caused some kind of damage because today for lunch I ate a 8-inch sub from Quiznos. I am really hoping this will change when I get my first fill, I'm just hungry all the time. Anyway good luck!

Hi! Just wanted to let you know you're not alone. I was banded on 3/23/06 and I have been having a hard time the last 2 days because I am so hungry. I went to my Dr yesterday, I've lost 11 pounds but he says that's not real loss with the band because I don't have anything in my band. Anyway, just wanted to let you know I can relate!! -

Hi Kristi--I am 9 days post op and had the same problem. If you walk or move around alot it helps. I still have some of the gas pain but not nearly as much as before.
