    Now It Feels So Real!

Woo hoo! And believe me, those days will fly by. I can't believe I am less than 48 hours away from surgery.

    Birthday

I have always been pretty good about treating myself, so there aren't a lot of things I long for. However, for years, I have wanted a Coach duffle bag. My birthday is August 24, so if I haven't bought this for myself by my birthday in 2013, it will be the way that I celebrate my birthday and my sleeve success. http://www.coach.com/online/handbags/-men_coachoriginals-10551-10051-13089-en?t1Id=82&t2Id=13089&tier=2&LOC=LN#1243

But I Do Wanna Be A Size 6

Obviously, men's clothes don't come sized that way, but I can honestl say that vanity is a huge motivator for me. Clearly, I want to be healthy. Yet, I am not at all ambivalent about saying that I want to feel like I look good. I want to not be the fat guy. And yeah, I love clothes (always have) and want to again wear tailored suits and have them look good. In addition, as I told a friend, I am gonna wear fitted, slim and skinny everything, so look out!

    Cancelled Surgery :(

I am sorry that your husband lost his job and that you had to cancel the surgery. Sending positive energy and the assurance that things will turn around soon. Try to remain encouraged.

    Cheated On Preop Diet

I'm not advocating that you cheat and like what the previous posters have said. I have come to believe, though, that the vast majority of folks cheat at least a little bit on their pre-op diets. But they are able to recover and then do what they need to do, so it doesn't become a problem. I actually think doctors expect it. That said, you've done it, so now pull yourself together and do what you need to do!

    Frantic Ready To Run

The procedures that doctors and facilities use vary widely. I can understand why you are freaking out, but know that you are not the first person to do it. You will do fine. Actually, can you talk to any patients who had their surgeries done there? Surely your doctor can recommend some.

    Hot Dog! I Found It!

So, it is a liquid not a powder, right?

    Maybe I Shouldn't Do This

I say take it one step at a time. Go to the information session and see how you feel afterward.

    Almanza

Hi StillLooking,I am happy to share my experience with you. I have read tons of great reviews from people who went to Dr. Almanza, so I feel totally comfortable with him. And yes, avoid the negative. It won't help your life in any way.

    1 Week Post-Op

I think mashed potatoes are really heavy for a new, unhealed sleeve. I think you should be careful to follow your doctor's orders to avoid complications.

Surgery Date Moved Up To July 17

I am revising from band to sleeve on July 9 (in 6 days). I definitely understand your concerns. I, too, am disappointed that I did not do as well as I anticipated with the band. It feels like a waste of a lot of money and time. But this is different. You will succeed. And so will I.
