Hi Lyndi, The only thing I can tell you is that you have to have lots of patience before the band is at its right restriction. You may have to have 3-4 other fills before this happens. For me I was banded in August 2008 and lost 20Ibs on my pre op diet. I had my first fill in Oct 2008 and did not lose any more weight until my fourth fill in Jan 2009. (3 months later!!) The weight is now coming off at a very slow pace of around 1/2Ib -1Ib per week now. I did get a bit annoyed that it took a good few months before the weight started to come off but looking back now all I need was patience. I'm due to go back for another fill at the end of this month and I think this fill will be the one which will get me back on track. Remember everyone is different so if its taking longer for you then thats OK. I know it can be hard to believe especially using this website cause there are some people who are losing it quite quickly. Just keep motivated and patient. It will happen for you!

Did you not do any research before having the procedure??? Were you not told that there is a VERY SMALL possibilty that the band might erode??? This was made very clear to me before I had my surgery along with all the other possibilities. If you weren't told then I can understand your attitude, for me however it was made clear from my very first consulation with my doc.

Hi girls, I thought it was just me who felt like I was eating too much! I have had my third fill last week which is 6.5cc in a 10cc band. I do feel a bit of restriction however I don't think its enough. I can sit down and eat all of my dinner no problem. No matter what is on the plate, I can finish and once I am finish I don't feel satisified. I am not really good with meal ideas & with it being winter it can be a difficult as my dinners are normally mash potatoes with veg and meat. Would anyone out there know where I could obtain some meal ideas or if some of you could give me some examples of the type of things you would have for dinner I would be very grateful.

Not losing like I thought I would

Hi guys, well I went for my second fill last saturday 15th November and was hoping to feel a bit more restriction and I have to say I still feel hungry. I only have a small band which only holds 9cc and to date I have been filled to 5.5cc The dietician did say that I may need another couple of fills to feel the right restriction. I am not losing any more weight and have been maintaining the same weight for a number of weeks now. I suppose I have to look on the bright side that at least I'm not gaining any weight!!! -

Will do. Maybe its normal for us not too lose too much on the first fill. I have a call tomorrow with my dietician. I will query everything with her on why the weight loss has slowed down so I will keep you informed. -

Hi, I am in the same position as you! I was banded on 25th of August and had my first fill on 15th October. I have lost 22Ibs so far but this weight loss was not due to the band fills but instead due to the strict diet I was put on for the surgery and the recovery. To be honest I feel more hungry now than ever which is leaving me disappointed!! I'm due my next fill on 15th November & I am praying that this will work.
