Drink some hot tea -- there's something about the tannins in the tea that will help relax it for you. I've been there -- after srinking the tea, wait a about 15 -30 minutes and see what happens. Also, try and avoid bread for a couple of days too.

Do you find its physically easier to eat garbage?
aqgrad replied to roxy123's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think it may be the sugar in some of these foods, which make them go down easy. If you're having trouble with the right foods going down, don't get in the habit of fooling your band with these foods. You might need an adjustment -- it's all very tricky. Should be the other way around, but I also think that Proteins are supposed to make your body work harder -- they take longer to digest, you need to eat slower, and once you're able to digest them, you're fuller. Just my guess! -
Tight Feeling in Throat
aqgrad replied to soxaholic's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That happened to me as well, only it was after my very first fill and I had some saline taken out. You may be eating too fast -- even though it is only mushy stuff -- make sure you aren't eating and drinking together. But, call your doctor and see what he (or she) says. Good luck! -
I am looking for a group that isn't so far away from home. I was banded by Dr. Denham at North Shore (Evanston Northwestern Hospital), but they no longer have support group at the hospital because you have to pay to park and the other facilities offer free parking. When the weather gets better, I'll make the hike to Glenview or Highland Park, I was just looking for somethinig a bit closer to the North Side of Chicago. If anyone knows of any groups, please post them here. Thanks so much!

I was banded in October, 2008, and I have lost more than 38 lbs!! I eat cheese -- although I try to stick to reduced or low fat and I am fine! I don't overdo it and it seems to work for me -- I would recommend trying Laughing Cow Light -- it melts really well and is quite tasty!
