Hi to All - I just got banded on Sept 12 and am already down 20 lbs - looking to see if there are any lists of Doctors here in this area that will take band patients from out of the country in case of emergency and also to get fills - I know of the Lap Band USA in St Pete and also the Doctor in Orlando but they are not taking any new out of USA patients right now - Any help will be greatly appreciated - and also looking to meet others in this area - Best Regards - Amy

Hi there -I live in Cape Canaveral - and I went to Mexico and had the Best Doctor in the world - I will give you all of the information you need - Iwould not go anywhere else - He is with Hospital Angeles in Juarez HOSPITAL ANGELES in Juarez, Mexico - I had Teri Biga [teri@beliteweight.com] www.belitemexico.com a facilitator that set everything up for me - go to the wesite and you can see the hospital and the team in Juarez - They do not make you loose the weight before hand either like these us docs - or put you thru that phy doctor either - as long as your BMI is high enough they will take you - the cost was 7000.00 and she even waved the fees - it was the cleanes hospital I have ever seen - We walked around for two days in white socks and they are still white you will be amased - I got a flight out with Continental airlines out of orlando round trip for 575.00 or so - it left at 7:20 am and arrived in Dallas and then into El Paso - we left on a Friday am and by the time I got to TX there was a really seet guy that picked all of us that were going in for surgery the same day - they took us over the boarder and we were at the hospital by around 11:30 MX time - 2 hour difference by the way - We were greeted at the hospital like we were stars and the check in was fast - we were in our rooms by around 12:15 and then Dr Rodriguez came in to meet us - we got prepped with an IV -and by 1:00 I was on my way - it was really easy - and I only had a little nervousness - you definatley need to take someone with you it will make it easier while there and on the way home - we were home by Sunday night - you will have alot of gas and gas pains but they go away quickly and you will need to walk walk walk while you are there it helps alot - I did and can tell you that I took the whole week off after the surgery and am glad I did for the healing process - I am now down 22lbs and it will be three weeks this Friday - I cannot tell you of any other way to get this done or by any other doctor - they also do not put you on that stupid 2 or 3 week diet before - the week before the surgery they give you a list of foods to try and stay with and to try and walk 30 mins a day before the surgery - if there is anything else that I can help with please let me know - Best Regards - Amy

Hi there I am in the same boat as you - so far the cheapest I have found is Fills usa in St Pete that has the flouro and I know it is in your budget I called them before I went to Mexico and it was not bas 200.00 or something the first go around then 100.00 and something after or cheaper not to sure let me know Amy I am in Cape Canveral and you - let me know

have you seen this is he this expensive?????? Hi All, Have some updated info for you on Dr. Wizman in Pompano Beach/Margate. If you have been banded by another Dr. he charges $730 for the first fill under fluoro not $300. There is a $500 "program fee" (whatever that is) plus a charge of $230 for the hospital. Every fill thereafter (which would not be under fluoro I might add) would be $150. Thanks, but I think I'll pass. First of all, I only have my fills done under fluoro, and secondly at that price, it's still cheaper for me to travel elsewhere. Still looking........any other info on Dr.'s in South Florida who are in the $200 - $300 range would be great! Thanks again !

Hello Again - boy is i good to hear from someone who used the same Doctor as I mine was the 12th he was so sweet I fell in love with him the moment he came to my room before the surgery - I am so sorry you are losing you hair - I have not started that yet and hope I do not - let me know how that stuff works - please stay in touch as I said maybe we can meet one day - Amy PS I just email Dr Wizman to see if he would accept me I hope so :-)

Good Morning, I just got my band the 12th of Sept - please please do not go alone - you will definatley need someone who can help you out - DO NOT DO IT ALONE if you are going to be in a hotel room - I took my Best Friend who has an awesome bed side manner - and we were in a hospital friday sat and sunday and then flew home - the fly was the worst make sure you have a wheel chair waiting for you if you are flying - she was there at ever moment and was also able to help me learn what is going to heppen to you and can help you out along your jouney - the first night was the worst and I had alot of pain from the gas - she walked with me every moment I needed to - and was there to give me pain meds - now the pain is not that bad but it will be there - also make sure you take alot of xtra strength GAS X chewables with you for you will need them!!!! - also the next day you will be feeling alot better but you will have your moments - you will be getting pains in your neck from the gas (horrible but bearable - you will need a heating pad - and you will have to walk walk walk - burp and fart as much as you can it will help - but again please do not go alone I beg you - please stay in touch with me I will help all I can - this is a learning experience - All my best Amy

Hi I just got banded on 9/12 and the worst so far is the pain in my neck - but have not had the depression - well maybe once or twice when I was on the clear liguids - and I quickly called my dietician in Mexico and she said to go to soft foods - once I started eating cream of wheat wow what a joy - I had trouble sleeping also and that pillow sort of flat idea helps to take away the pressure - but as of this past Wednesday I can now sleep on my stomach and on the side of the port - my port was really sore until about yesterday and it is geting better everyday - I had to take a week off of work but this 2nd week getting out and active again really helped - try it it does work - I am now down 15 lbs in 2 weeks and it feels so good - also prune juice helps lol :-) if ya know what I mean - I am also finding out that I cannot eat more than 3 oz of food or I get the gas pains in my neck again - please keep us informed - are you still on Clear liquids - go to fulls it will help I promise - Best Regards - Amy:thumbup::thumbup:
