    I'm in ONEDERLAND !!!!!!

Well done you! That is brilliant news. Congratulations!!!!
  2. I just wanted to wish you all the absolute very, very best for 2010! I was banded in September 2008 and have lost 103 pounds (47 kgs) so far... I am well on my way but still on the 'journey'. I hope all of your journeys continue to be successful ones and as the weight falls off your lives are even happier and healthier.
  3. In theory you mustn't 'cheat' but in reality... I ate a T Bone steak and a whole plate of pasta within the three weeks post op phase. Very naughty and in hind sight I am lucky nothing bad happened.. but it was bloody good....I am 13 months post op now and have lost over 100 pounds... we all may have the band in common but we're all individuals and we all make mistakes and each of our 'journeys' are unique! Good luck to you all - all the best!
  4. Hi All! I just wanted to check in and wish everyone all the best with their weight loss experiences and successes. I was banded on the 19th September last year and have lost 30kgs (about 65 pounds). I am so happy I had this procedure and really feel like I am on a 'new' track of life. Everyone's experience is unique and I have had my ups and downs, plateaus, vomitting, PBing, weight gain and all the 'normal' things along the way... but I am on my way as you all are or will be. Good luck to you all and here's to slimmer, healthier and happier us! Gabs x
  5. Hi Michelle You have a great attitude towards this whole thing - just keep moving forward and when you get a little discouraged look back on what you have achieved! I am about 8 months out since surgery and have lost about 55 pounds, which I thought was slow and I have become annoyed and frustrated at times but I'm just going to keep on moving on! All the best to all of you and congratulations!
  6. As already mentioned everyone is different. Not until my third fill did I feel REAL restriction. In my second week I ate a whole heap of creamy pasta and a T-Bone steak with no problems whatsoever. I was really worried but I just got back on the horse, which is all you can do. Just monitor how you feel and always check in with your surgeon if anything persists and you're really worried - you will get there just keep on looking forwards! All the best!
  7. Don't sweat the twisties. I hope you enjoyed them!!! I love cheese twisties. Just get right back on the wagon, put your chin in the air and keep on keeping on!!!!
  8. Hi All! I look forward to: 1. Going out to dinner without having to worry about whether my backside will fit in the seat and then when it barely fits, not worrying about standing up and still having the chair attached to my rear end! 2. Not being limited to wearing 'whatever fits' which are often hideous tents disguised as clothes 3. Bending over in the shower to shave my legs without my stomach getting in the way 4. Walking up a hill without feeling like I am going to have a heart attack and without sweating so much I look like I just got out of the shower 5. Flying and actually fitting in a seat, without a seatbelt extension and without having to pass on meals because the tray won't go down (even in business class sometimes!) 6. Not worrying if a car seat belt will fit me or not 7. Sitting in a booth seat without my breasts and the top of my stomach resting on the tabletop - so attractive!!!!! 8. Lying on my back without my breasts suffocating me up under my chin. 9. Sitting on my husband without potentially killing him! 10. .... and so, so, so much more! All the best to you all - may the forth be with you!

    September bandsters

Hi All. I was banded on 19th Sept. Since then I have lost about 10 kgs or 20 pounds. It's slow but I'm coming to terms with that! I have had two fills and with both I had restriction for about a week and then it loosened up a bit. I have no idea how many cc's I have or what cc total my band is. I am going for another fill in early January, which I hope will put me in a better position. During restriction phases after my fills I ate a lot less, but after that, where I am right now, I have found I can eat pretty much anything apart from bread. Old habits do creep in, but I am trying and that's all I can do! I also have to get off my bum and do some exercise!!!

    Discouragement?

Hi There - I tend to agree with you. Sometimes people come across all preacher like and it doesn't help when all you're looking for is understanding, support, guidance and advice rather than a sermon! Remember this is an experience that is unique to you. If you have any issues or problems that are really concerning you, your surgeon is the best and only person I recommend talking to. All the absolute best to you. Also remember that if we all had infallible willpower we wouldn't be overweight in the first place and nor would we feel we needed the support a lap band offers us in losing weight.
  11. Hi - I have just finished week two post op and I think I ate too much today - I feel extremely full and quite uncomfortable. What does this mean? Will my upper smaller stomach be stretchedn and if yes, why is this bad? Will my band stretch and if yes, why is this bad? Thank you!!!!:confused::tongue::confused::eek:

    What will happen if?

This is my wake up call I think.. I ate a huge marinated steak, and a heap of Pasta with prosciutto. I did eat slowly and chewed and chewed but wasn't really full at all. Apart from a Protein shake that's all I ate yesterday. Today I ate a chicken, pesto and pine nut calzone and two small florentine biscuits. I also had dried apricots, nuts, cheese and crackers and then at dinner I ate KFC popcorn chicken and large fries...... oh dear.....
  13. hey there! I also was banded on 19th Sept! We share a 'new' birth date. I am in Western Australia. I still feel some discomfort from sleeping on my side but it's getting better. I am so sick of fluids and am dying for something with flavour and substance. I find it very hard to burp and I was always a healthy burper, so that is also driving me nuts.. I seem to be able to do small burps which helps but is not ideal! I want to wish you all the absolute very best - take care of you!
  14. I just had lap band surgery last Friday and it is now 4 days later on Tuesday. I don't feel so great and I can't burp which is driving me nuts, I also feel dizzy and light headed because I haven't eaten. I am hungry though - is that normal?
