    First fill down 2day

Ok everyone, I had my first fill today. I have not offically lost 16 pounds (GO ME). I have a 9cc realize band and now I have 3 1/2ccs in it. I was told to give it about a week and if I thought I needed more, to go ahead and call for an appointment. Just thought I'd let everyone know.

    first fill 2morrow

Hey all, I have my 1st fill 2morrow afternoon! I am really excited about it to. I just have a few questions I am hoping will be answered before I have to leave. Question # 1. How much restriction (if any) should I be able to feel after having it done? Question # 2. Will the phone finally stay in my pouch longer than what it does now and make me feel fuller longer than I feel fuller now? Question # 3. Should I expect to lose more weight with my first fill? I have already lost 15 pounds without the restriction and am really hoping to lose more with my first fill.

going for my 5 week check up--1st fill

Hey Angie, You know, it's weird how all surgeons do the same thing and all have different guidelines. My surgeon says only 3 small meals (im on phase 3 right now and can only have 2-3 ounces per meal) 3 times a day. No snacking between meals. I wonder why they all have such different guidelines when they all do the same exact thing? When I go for my fill 2morrow, I am going to find out why just about everyone else gets to eat the Snacks and I dont. I think eating the small snacks between meals would really help with the mood swings I am having and the hunger that I am always having.

going for my 5 week check up--1st fill

I honestly have tried to follow the doctors instructions, ate the right foods, 6 small meals (healthy in between also) and walked 2-4 miles 3-4 times a week. But I think the problem is portion sizes. I eat almost the same size portions as before surgery. Willpower is not a virtue of mine. I don't think I will notice much after the first two or even maybe three fills, or at least from reading these boards. I guess what I would like is for someone who felt like me, to tell me it does get better! As I have heard others say....if I had willpower to stop when I should, I wouldn't have needed the band. Please tell me it gets better. I do have the realize band. I go for my first fill 2morrow. You get to have 6 small meals a day? Wow, I only get 3 a day.

    first fill 2morrow

Note to self: Keep the phone away from mouth and dont read anything from Restless Monkey while drinking. I had a sip of chocolate milk in my mouth and my computer screen just about wore it. I love you guys, you know how to make a person laugh when she needs it. If I remember correctly, the Nurse that is doing my fill said that she would put in between 2ccs and 3ccs just depending on how much I could handle.

 ROTFLMAO...where in the world did that come from. The phone in my pouch? You know, it's really hard to type when you are laughing so hard that you actually have tears in your eyes. What I meant to say, will the feeling of fullness last any longer. LOL I can't believe I said that.

    please rescue me

OK I am starting my 2nd week of "mushies" today. Last week I had so much chicken i thought I was going to sprout wings. I had baked chicken and chicken salad almost every night. I had pork chops one night. I have been eating refried beans with cheese and taco sauce on it. I don't like any kind of fish, no tuna or anything like that. I hate the taste of yogurt and tofu and soy food makes me want to throw up. Good new is, I only have until the 15 until I can add to my diet. Bad news is, I am about tired of chicken and beans. I am in dire need of something different before I scream to the top of my lungs. Can someone please help me

    Angry...?

Your body is going through alot of changes right now. You are going from eating whatever whenever you want to eating very little 3 times a day. Your horomones are probably going crazy also. I have the same problem myself, I seem to blow up and the least little thing that happens.
  9. OK, so I was just reading the thread "Things I wont miss about being obese". I thought it would be a neat idea to jot down a few things about the things that have changed in my life since I have become a bandster. I hope others will join me as well in doing this. Things that have changed are: *After 14 pounds lost I can now put on my comfy blue jeans without having to lay on the bed and suck my gut in to zip and button them. *I can now walk to the bus stop with my kids and not get out of breath by the time I reach to middle of the road. *I haven't had the first Asthma attack (knock on wood) *I have quit smoking (haven't had one in 3 weeks and 4 days now) *The big thing that has changed is THE 14 POUNDS I HAVE LOST THAT WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK ON!!!! the list could go on and on and on, but I will stop there.

Things I won't/don't miss about being Obese

As for myself, these are some things I wont miss about being obese: Thighs rubbing 2-gether Getting tired just walking through walmart not being able to enjoy my kids (play with them and what not) be to afraid to try to get on a ride cause I am afraid i wont fit in the seat people looking at me in disgust including myself ugly looking cloths (why is it so hard to find nice clothes for big people) having to make sure my shirt goes down below my belly cause I dont want to show where I have dunlap syndrome (where you belly done lapped over you belt) most of all what I wont miss is: having all the lights turned out and making sure that it is as dark as possible when my husband and I make love.

    I ate too fast help

You are probably much better by now, but I have had this happen to me a couple times although I have't had my first fill. Due to have it on Sept. 15. Anyways, the couple times it has happened to me, I have found that laying back as far as you can without laying down, relaxing yourself (I know it's hard to do but possible) and taking long deep breaths helps out alot. Hope that helps if you ever have a "next time"

    This is about my husband

I have been pondering for a couple weeks now whether or not to post a thread like this but I really need to vent to someone and to get some advice. I'm not exactly sure how to write this post so if it sounds stupid, I truely am sorry. My husband and I have been married for 6 months and 5 days now but been together for 2 years and 5 days. When we met, I was 32 pounds lighter than I am right now. I guess after we moved in together I quit trying to lose rest of my weight and didn't care. We have 4 children together. 2 from my previous marriage and 2 from his previous marriage. After alot of talking about it I decided to have the lapband done and was banded on Aug. 18 of this year. Since my surgery I have lost 14 pounds and am pretty happy with that. This is my problem. My husband (whom I love with every breath I take) is always saying that I am going to end up cheating on him. You have to understand I am 30 and he is 41. That is a 11 year age difference. He has been married twice before and both time, the women cheated on him. I have told him time and time again, that I love him, I am extremely happy with him, I want nobody else, and that he is everything that I have ever wanted in a man. He is a very hard worker (most days he works 18 hours out of 24, he is a truck driver). He is a very good provider, he is good with my children and his and treats my as his own, he takes care of me, makes me feel like a queen, and really good in the sack (I know TMI, TMI). I just had to through that last part there in.lol Can someone please help me to find a way to make him see that I never in a million years would leave him for someone younger or anyone else. He is driving me crazy and I want him to be like he was before I had the surgery. The man that knew I loved him and wanted nobody else.

    New Bander!

Hey there mom. I'm a new bander also. I was just banded on Aug. 18. I am in my mushies stage and thankfully, this coming Monday I will be on solids. I have lost 14 and am going for my first fill on the 15th.

    This is about my husband

I have mentioned several times that he needs to go for counselling and if he went I would even go with him. I've told him that whatever it takes I will help him with it. He doesn't see that he has a problem and doesnt see that it is starting to affect me. I would never in a million years cheat on him. If I was going to, I would have already. I have had the chance (several times) but my love for him is to strong and I know a good thing when I see it. Of course, I havent told him that I have had the chance. He would totally flip if he knew.

    What changes after a fill?

how far between do you usually have to weight between fills. I'm due to have my first fill on 9/15. I'm really worried that I will end up gaining weight before I find my "sweet spot". I have no restriction right now, (not that I can tell anyways). I eat my 1 1/2 ounces 3 times a day like I was told and between these 3 meals. I feel like I am straving sometimes so I end up cheating, not really bad, just a few bites of something like chicken salad or a few bites of ham.

    Yeeeeee haaaawwww!!!!

OK, so today is the first day I have weighed since last week. I stepped on the scales after everyone was gone this morning. I was really scared that I had gained weight (I have cheated a few times with this mushie stage). I have no restriction at all yet and i get hungry and end up with hungar headaches so i take a few bites of chicken salad or something. Anyways, the scales have finally moved again. I have now lost 14 pounds which brings me to 250lbs even. I am really excited today about this. I started the night before last with my walking. I took it to the extreme and walked 2 miles. I ended up with inflamation in my right heal and wasn't able to walk without sharp pain all day yesterday. Today it is much better with just a little bit of pain that subsides after I have been up and on it for a while. I have decided that on the nights that my son has football practice and my daughter has cheerleading practice I am going to walk the track instead of just sitting there watching them. That will give me a total of 4 nights that I will be able to walk atleast a mile. I think this will help me with the weight loss. Also, I have been eating refried Beans and lowfat cheese alot lately and I believe that has hendered my weight loss. They told me that it would be fine yet with my next stage I am suppose to stay away from it. I don't understand that part but oh well. I'm off now to go eat my 3 tablespoons of my hamemade Chicken Salad and watch Charmed. Hope to hear from you ladies soon.

    excited about the pain

Yeah, I know, crazy title. My husband and I took our youngest son to Football practice last night. While my husband stayed on the field to watch him practice I decided to walk the track. So, I take off and about 20 or 30 minutes, I was back where I started from. I had walked a mile for the first time since I was a teenager. I walked over to where Mark (my husband) had sit up our chairs and sat down with sweat running down my entire face. Now, our sons practice lasts for 2 hours. I decided that after a short rest, I'd try to walk the track again. I did, I walked it again. So, I walked 2 miles last night. That is the exctied part. The pain part. Well, when we got home I noticed both my heals were hurting some. I didn't really think about of it cause I put it off on not walking for a while or it being my shoes. I got up with my husband this morning as he left for work. Sat up on the side of the bed, put my left foot on the floor, it didn't hurt one bit, put my right foot down on the floor and just about fell. The pain in my right heal is horrible. I'm not sure what it is all I know, is that it hurts. It usally takes me about 4 seconds to get to the bathroom from our bedroom. This morning I know it took atleast 1 1/2 minutes to get there. Anyone have any ideas as of what could be going on with my right heal? 2 points to this story, 1. My right heal is hurting me more than my port area did right after surgery. 2. Even with the pain I am feeling when I have to walk, I am so excited about what I did last night. I WALKED MY FIRST 2 MILES SINCE I HAD MY SURGERY AND SINCE BEFORE I GOT PREGNANT WITH MY FIRST CHILD!!!!!

    excited about the pain

Just got back from the Doctors office. Seems all that walking last night caused an inflamation in the tissues of my heal. I told him that since I have the lapband now I was advised to say "NO" to NSAIDS. So my doctor had to call my surgeon and finally got to talk to him. I was given 3 medications, celebrax which is an "NSAID" and 2 other stomach meds. to prevent me from getting an ulcer. Apparently that is why after having these kinds of surgries you aren't suppose to take NSAIDS. I drive all the way to the drug store wait for them to feel the 3 meds for me only to find out that 1 wasn't approved by the insurance, the other was gonna cost because the insurance only paid some of it and the only one they paid totally for, was the Celebrax (THE NSAIDS)...LOL imagine that. We are running really short on cash right now and I don't have the extra to pay spend out right now. So, now I am looking for some advice on what to do to comfort the pain. I know that I can get some insoles and I think I have a pair laying around here somewhere, but getting around right now is really painful so I am going to have to wait for my hubby to get home from work. I have some liquid pain medicine left over from the surgery so I think I will take half a dose of that in a few minutes and hope it dont put me to sleep cause all 4 of my kids will be home in about 3 hours.

    excited about the pain

Well, I thought I did. I bought some just the other day for the sole purpose of walking. I bought a pair of CHICKS. I think I am going to go this weekend and buy me a pair of Nike Shocks. They are about the only kind I have been able to wear that didn't mess with my feet.

    Where is your port located?

my port is on the left side right under my boob. Finally too, my surgeon usually puts them between the chest bone down closer to the belly button. The nurse and I have decided he is messing with her and keeping her on her toes..lol

    first fill coming up

I am scheduled to have my first fill on the 15 of this month. I have only lost 12 pounds since my surgery on Aug. 18. I was wondering a few things. What happens while being filled, will this crazy hunger go away after I have my fill, and will the weight stop coming off faster after my first feel. Right now, I am only moving the scales every couple days and I so badly want to move it daily.

    26 and facing a hysterectomy..please help

I am 30 yrs old and had mine when I was only 22 years old. I like you had serve PMS. When it was my time of the month, I was in the bed with a heating pad the whole time. I had skipped periods, endometrisos (had 5 surgeries for this and none of them worked), I had cysts on both my ovaries, I had alot wrong with my womanly insides. I was rushed for an emergency hystro. due to my uteris not shrinking back to its normal size after giving birth to my 2nd child. Since I have had mine done, I have never regreted it. I don't have to deal with the monthly pains of periods and any of the crazy stuff that come along with it. It was one of the best things that I had ever had done.
