Hi Homecare Congrats on the restriction, i know its a weird feeling. It will settle down in a while especially as you should lose quite a bit over the next few days as you cant eat that much. As long as you can sleep ok and you can get fluids down you are fine. x -

Hi I do feel pretty damn good thanks! Im finding it very easy to maintain at the mo im not doing anything differently. I still want to lose 12 pounds though but i am not really putting in the neccessary work to achieve it. I am relatively happy with myself so im trying not to put too much pressure on myself to lose. I reached goal in 10 months. xx -

I stopped losing on the last few stone a couple of times, very frustrating when you are not doing anything wrong! Either try upping your calories slightly to 1200 or so as you may be in starvation mode or try 5 days or so of liquids only. You need to do something to make your body wake up slightly. After that sometimes changing the amount of calories you have each day can keep your body out of starvation mode so 800 one day and then 1200, 1500 etc that normally works. Even if none of this works eventually you will come out of it. I stayed at 10 stone 7 for ages stopped weighing myself and two weeks later i had lost 7 pounds without even noticing! Hope this helps! -

Try this http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f84/any-november-2009-bandsters-102014/ There is not anything i cant eat. Theres lots of things that i find difficult to eat. Mainly meat such as chicken and steak etc i can eat them but i really have to concentrate and eat very slowly. There are also things that i cannot eat alot of because its just fills me up too quickly like bread, rice and pasta. I do not rule out any foods and try to eat as normally as possible. The band is a funny thing like i can only eat a very small portion of a roast dinner before i get uncomfortable but i can quite easily leave it for 15 mins and eat a whole portion of cake with cream. Its mainly about the consistency of the food you eat. Anything that you can eat alot of but is not that great for you like desserts and wotsits and things that melt in the mouth or a quite liquidy are called slider foods. Its inportant that after you have finished your liquids and mushy foods you do try to eat more solid stuff like proteins etc its harder but you eat less and its better for you! -

Hi Jersey If there is no one from this thread who will be banded at the same time as you there will be a thread for people in general who will be banded at the same time as you. You should be able to find it on the home page. x -

Do You Feel Bigger Then You Really Are??
Carriejess replied to ichatter's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel amazing in myself but i have a real problem with comparisons to other people. I went from a 20 to an 8 in a year, when i say to my friends that someone we see looks great and they reply with 'Carrie your thinner than they are' i honestly cannot see that. I still think that i am bigger than a thin person yet i am a thin person now. Im not sure if at this stage that will ever change! -

Hi JB Do you mean the injections they give you after your op? If so then you do give them to yourself they help to stop your blood clotting or something. Its for 5 days after i think and they give you the needle already filled and ready to go, you just stick them in your stomach no precision required. They are only small and dont hurt. Carrie -

Hi jb Too be honest i dont think i can give you a concrete answer to that as i dont fly enough to know properly. I would advise you to ask CDB or Frederick or perhaps even give Wendy from WLS a call and ask them. Carrie -

Hi JB Welcome! Have you looked into how easy it is to get fills in India? If you travel long distance alot they normally advise you to have some fluid taken out of your band prior to flying so you will definately need easy access to someone who can do your fills. x -

Damn im really tight, i forgot what its like to be this tight. I ate a muller light yoghurt and a bowl of soup today and last night i had to sleep with my head on three pillows because because everytime i swallowed my throat was making random noises! I have lost 2 pounds since saturday though. I will leave it til the weekend and if im still this tight i might have to have some taken out. My very best wishes to all those recovering or preparing for their surgery. xx -

Thank you x It will put my bmi at 21 underweight is under 18.5 so i will still be well within the limits. Im getting the i dont thing you should lose any more coments now but its only because people are not used to seeing you change. However i definately dont want to look too skinny (lol i never thought i would say those words) so if i lose 7 puonds and im happy with that then i will leave it! -
would you do this? long, sorry...
Carriejess replied to BQT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im 5'4 and although i was 224 when i had the band my average weight was approx 190/ I tried diet pills also and they are awful. I think lapband works for those with lower bmi's i would go for it...best thing i ever did.
