Well done, trust me you will, it will be amazing. I know we all wish we could have done it ourselves but the the best thing about the band is that is takes away the fear. I have lost large amounts of weight in the past and then put it back on. I could never enjoy the feeling because i was so scared that i would put it back on again, which of course i did. The reason i am so happy now is that i can enjoy it because that fear is no longer there. Being able to wear great stuff is the best and going shopping is so theraputic now and not panic inducing. Gentlemen cover your ears....I went to get re fitted for bras today which i have had to do loads and i have gone from a 40E/F to a 32 DD now. I also bought thigh high boots today aswell. Its not the buying of things that's important its the fact that before i had the band i had never owned a pair of boots because my calves never fitted in them. Now i have 6 pairs! it's the small things like this aswell as the big stuff like health etc that make me smile now! -

So scared to get rid of fat clothes!
Carriejess replied to reneek's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have gone through 10 wardrobes, each time i needed a new set of clothes i took the old ones out laid them on the floor and took a picture then gave them away! It's a great feeling, i kept one pair of jeans and one shirt to reminid myself and the rest went or i wouldnt be able to have anything else in my house! -
my waist was the last to go down, my legs and hips are tiny. if i could get my tummy to go down a bit now i would now be a 4 instead of a 6 but i'm not complaining too much!

Do you FEEL fat????????
Carriejess replied to esv2000's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 5'5 126 pounds and an american size 6...i have days where i still feel fat and i have days where i feel amazing..i think that's the same for most people. All those times when my thin friends and colleagues would moan that they were having a fat day or wished they could drop 1 dress size etc and i used to be thinking 'what they hell are you talking about...your tiny, i wish i was you' and now i realise that its just human nature! -

Hi JoJo Don't worry! Most people go through last supper syndrome, i definately did! None of us has any will power that's why we went through this, the band is a tool which helps you to control how much you can eat therefore the need for will power is to some extent redundent. We all still go through stages of eating the wrong things (i had 3 kit kats yesterday) however for the most part your good eating will balance this out. The main thing to remember is that it may take you a while to get used to having it and to learn how to eat with it, your body will tell you if your eating too quickly or the wrong things. It will also tell you that you need to get a fill etc if you can eat too much. There may be times when you will stop losing or take you a while to get to your sweet spot. You just need to except this and realise that you will be able to do it! It's an amazing oppertunity and i don't regret it for a second! Good luck! -
There is nothing wrong with having a drink occasionally. The band and should help you to eventually realise how 'normal' people manage their diets, normal people enjoy a drink sometimes just as they enjoy a good night out in a restaurant or a night watching films and eating chips with their friends they just dont let it rule their lives or use it as an emotional crutch.

Great to hear that all the newbies were successful and are feeling good. I got back to the gym this week and it's amazing how great you feel, i'd forgot about how much more energy it gives you. I was also amazed at how much more i could do compared to last summer (yes people last summer was the last time i did any real exercise!) Just need it to be light when i get home so i can run in the beautiful countryside around my house, just hope i dont get too bored of the gym before that happens! G, thanks for the link i will def be checking it out, lucky for me that alot of my friends are personal trainers so im just waiting for a hardcore weights program to be written for me, i can imagine the pain already x -

Hi Julie I took the Eurostar as its quite close to me, getting the train in Belgium to the Hotel was quite difficult as i generally have no sense of direction! I didnt know about the package when i booked as i went through an agent but i think the package is a good deal just for the fact that they pick you up etc. When i booked the Camponille i could only stay for one night so had to travel to another Hotel for the second night. If i had known about the package i wouldnt have had to go through all of that drama! I am lucky that my lovely mother loaned me the money but i would of saved for as long as it took to get the money if she hadnt of done. Squeezed into a size 8 dress the other day so its all worth it in the end (used to be a 20.) x x -
Can you eat a whole burger when you have good restriction?
Carriejess replied to zuly98's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I prob could eat a whopper but not anything else. I usually avoid burgers because i cant eat that much bread in one go and the burger itself is so dense its quite a difficult food. I would have to really concentrate, be on my own in my own house. So on the above points it doesnt really seem worth it to bother. I think it would probably take me a good 45 minutes and the last 15 i would be really forcing it! -
dont lose too much comment- A Question
Carriejess replied to mi_illusion_st's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm 5'5 and now 127 pounds, people started telling me not to lose any more from about 150 pounds. I honestly believe that it's just because my frineds and family had never seen me that small.. Their view of what you should look like are a bit warped, they also become concerned that you will develope some kind of eating disorder. Most of the people i know do not have weight issues, the way i deal with it is basically by reminding those people how much they weigh and what size they are and compare myslf to them. This also works by comparing your self to smaller friends. My Mum tells me to stop losing and i say ' you know Natalie/Jo/Kate etc? Do you think they look healthy or do they look malnourished? Oh you think they look perfectly healthy? Well we are the same height and i weigh more than her.....' seems to work for me! I am not personally comparing myself to others but it seems to put things into perspective for the people who worry about me for no reason. -
