Any plans for today @Vanessa Correal?
  2. Hi @Emilieh26 I've smoked a few joints since surgery but not until about a month out, I have gotten munchies once or twice but have been fine. I'd just make sure you have healthy things to snack on. Personally I wouldn't mix alcohol + THC so close to surgery, but thats just me. I have no advice on molly or coke, they're both appetite suppresants so I can't imagine you'd get hungry however I'd be careful to not get dehydrated with molly, remember you probably won't be able to tank water if you get thirsty. Stay safe!

    Moving Forward In Life

What a glow up! And congratulations for your degree
  4. @NickelChip I resisted getting an airfryer for ages ( in quite a snobby french food way I must admit) but now I have one I wouldn't live without it ! Go for it! If not it's still raining and cold in Athens ...

Keep writing the thoughts! It helps. Here is a poem I like by Rilke - I try to remeber in the tough times that "no feeling is final". God speaks to each of us as he makes us, then walks with us silently out of the night. These are the words we dimly hear: You, sent out beyond your recall, go to the limits of your longing. Embody me. Flare up like a flame and make big shadows I can move in. Let everything happen to you: beauty and terror. Just keep going. No feeling is final. Don’t let yourself lose me. Nearby is the country they call life. You will know it by its seriousness. Give me your hand.

What have you got planned for today? Can you do something nice and just for yourself? Soak your feet in a home made foot bath? Go for a walk and take a picture of a nice tree? Use chat GPT to wrike a haiku about yourself? Strangley I always find sorting through my sock drawer and getting rid of the oldest/worst looking pair quite therapeutic. Take care.

You're not alone Vanessa. I'm sorry you feel this way at the moment, but this feeling will pass. You've lost 60 pounds, that's an amazing feat you've achieved! I hope you enjoyed your film. Take care.
  9. Hi all, the sun is finally out and I've made my 10k step goal today for the first time since Monday at least! Thanks again for everyones support - it does help! @gracesmommy2 I have thought about SAD, but normally I'm okay in all weather, I even prefer summer holidays in the north with raincoats and wool socks and fires! I reckon I'm probably a bit anemic and low on vitamin D... and that plus the exhaustion, the being cold and the being away from home is just a bit much. I hate lugging luggage around and so tend to travel light and where as when I'm home and it's cold I just wrap out and bundle myself under covers with a hot water bottle... but when I'm travelling it's hard esp as I've mucked up on my packing for the last few trips and not packed enough warm clothes. I do have a sort of lightbox thing at home that I usually use to deal with jetlag but I've been lucky enough since my operation to only be doing short hall... I do go to Canada and the US next month though so will get my lightbox out of whatever cupboard it's hiding in when I next make it home. I'm also aware that I'm loosing fast, which I think is pretty normal as I wasn't overweight for that long ( my BMI got above 25 for the first time in my life only in 2020)... I'm on Thursday I'll be 3 months since surgery and as of today I've lost 19.75kg (43.4lbs or 3st1lbs) since my surgery so over 21% or my body weight in under 3 months ... I know that this must be doing a number on my mental state too. I was 91.1kg on the day of surgery and am now 71.35kg - however I also lost 5kg in the 2 weeks before surgery, my surgeon didn't need me to do a preop diet but just to be safe I still pretty much did a broth fast for the two weeks prior. So all in all in 15 weeks I've lost over 25kg ... and I know thats why I'm so exhausted! However I'm also happy because my team wanted me to have lost 20% total body weight at 3 months and I've exceeded that with a week to go ... I know things will get better... but I would love some proper warmth and light for more than a couple of days! @LisaCaryl I've always shed a lot of hair but haven't noticed things getting worse yet ... but I guess I'll just ride it though when it does happen! On the bright side I have to loose only another 2.2lbs to have a BMI under 25 again ... I know BMI is a crap tool ( and honestly find it a tad unfair because I reckon I have at least a couple of extra lbs of boob!) but I'm still very much looking forward to no longer being officially overweight! Hope everyone has a lovely weekend and that all those far enough north got to see the boreal lights.
  10. I'm also exhausted. I'm in Athens and it's raining and cold and grey. I'm just so done with the cold and rain. I feel it'll never stop. I'm so cold and tired the whole time. Really struggling with the weather being so grim (that said so is everyone I know - this year in Europe has been especially bad), mainly because I'm just so cold and tired and being cold and wet the whole time makes things 10 x worse. But yeah, I wrote it before but the weather is really doing a number on me. I might try and see a shrink soon if my mood re the weather doesn't lift because I'm nearing tears every time I see the weather forecast. I'm sorry you're having a hard month @NickelChip - I hope your blood tests shed some light on why the loss has slowed for you. @RonHall908 Well done on loosing the inches and all the fat % !!! Actually reassured to hear you're also exhausted because as I've written, I'm really really struggling with being so exhausted and having constant brain fog.

    Side by sides

    amazing! you shrunk! well done.
  12. How's everyone getting alone? I fly out again this evening and not a gram lost this week... won't be back home to my scales for ten days so hope to see a drop when I get home!
  13. @Briss72 I hope your leg gets better soon. Well done for getting under 100kg! Go you! I'm really struggling with the grey wet weather and being freezing the whole time.... I've been pretty miserable today.
  14. So I'm home! I'm 72.5kg (159lbs) this morning so I've made it halfway to my goal like a true @NickelChip twin. I'm home until Thursday when I fly off again but It's going to be a hectic few days ( and I don't even want to think of all the laundry I have to do!). Thats means that in the last ten days since I was home I lost 1.7kg or 3.74lbs which is less bad than I thought. @NickelChip The travelling is hard, I'm usually in hotels with client meetings and lunch and dinners most evenings - I tend to tell them I'm intermittent fasting so manage to skip one meal. I'm not against eating in my room in the evening but do prefer to be out because I just hate the amount of time I spend shut in hotel rooms and prefer to profit from the ambiance of wherever I'm staying. It's just such a massive change for me because I've always been a social butterfly out and about where ever I go ... I went to an international school ( well multiple international schools - I was an "Expat Brat / Third culture Kid") growing up so tend to have acquaintance to visit most places too, or have a random packet to give someones cousin/friend/old neighbor and food and alcohol have always played in a big part in that for me. Eating alone inside isn't really my thing. I've actually got an airbnb for Athens because it's a longer stay so should be able to cook in the kitchen there, and I reckon there will be better salads, but it's a good idea to keep a tub of hummus and crudités in the fridge, I'm not a great fan of yogurt berry combos, but might try... I have perfected my smile and head tilt for when people I meet say "oh my god thats so lucky you get to travel so much" 🙂 @gracesmommy2 I'm not a fan of chips but could go for edamame! I come from a family of tall thin women with massive boobs - I'm the shortest ( and fattest) by quite a bit, I'm 5 ft 6 and my sisters, aunts etc are between 5ft8 and 6ft and probably have BMI's round 20.... So even when I was skinny I've always had massive boobs, I was a already a double F at 14 when I was 110lbs. When I was up at 200lbs and over they got to ridiculous proportions and I'd have deep dents on my shoulders from my bra straps digging in the whole time. I'm happy they're getting a bit smaller but hope I don't loose too much and that they don't head too far south .. but if they do ..that's what good bras are for. That said I am lucky because they've never caused back pain! Do take pictures if you feel up to it - they are good to look back at to see progress, you too @LisaCaryl ... I'm sure one day you'll like to look back at them! @Briss72 @Noelle74 @Eighmmie How are you getting on?
  15. Just about to fly home and will anwser everyones posts then. Thanks all for your support and words and suggestions. Loving the new profile picture @NickelChip and @RonHall908 What an amazing transformation! Here are some of me, pick tracksuit is 2 weeks post surgery, brown dress is yesterday.
  16. Rahhh … I’m still stalled! Trying to keep with the onwards and upwards mentality even if it would be much easier if the scales were going downwards … managed 26k steps yesterday so that’s a plus. Starting to get homesick from travelling so much for work. I get back home to Paris on Saturday and have to leave again Thursday. I then have nearly 3 weeks non stop without getting home again. I’m finding it complicated to make good food choices and have enough protein. I’ve basically been having milky coffee and potatoes as a main food groups for the last few days. I hate protein shakes, I don’t really eat meat ( and strictly no pork), I don’t really eat fish ( and strictly no shellfish or seafood). At home I can do cheese and chickpeas and lentils and tofu etc etc but being out and about so much is complicated. I did hit 12 weeks no alcohol on Tuesday which is a big win for me because I’ve never thought I’d make it so far and the not drinking is getting easier day by day to resist the temptation. And also I sort of told myself that I go 24 weeks (6 ish months rounded down) so I’m half way through.
  17. @RonHall908 you look fantastic! Go you! What a difference - you allready look like a new man and so much younger! Im still stalled, but really glad to have you all here, it does help and is making me feel less alone with the struggle of the stall. On the upside I’m in Barcelona for work and finally have a blue sky for the first time since I got back from Eygpt! That’s helping my morale! I have the day of because it’s May Day Labor Day so I’m about to go and visit the Miró Fondation. Also yesterday I was 74 days since surgery and I reset all my step counters at surgery… I’ve done 802 388 steps since which works out at an honorable average of 10 800 and some steps per day or 7.35 km or 4.56 miles a day … and that I’m proud of because walking isn’t always the easiest for me!
  18. Thanks, I'm weighing every three days ... trying to wait a week each time but not reached that stage yet. I haven't really noticed any difference for a week... I know it will pass but it's hard. I still feel so enormous.
  19. I think I'm stalling again. It's making me angsty. I know it's expected but it just makes me feel so insecure and down. having trouble coping with the stall. I'm quite down. That and the non stop rain and grey skies.
  20. Hi Sweetie, sorry you’re feeling so rough. Are you taking PPIs ( omeprazole or another one ) ? These do help with nausea. Also you need to get hold of your surgeon team again or failing that try and see your Primary care provider. You will be okay. Take care.

    Bigger stomach?

That seems like a good loss so far! Read up about the 3 week stall , it happens to most people after WLS...
  22. My surgery was the 16th. I’m generally okay but exhausted. Food diary is a good idea, here is my yesterday: Coffee Ray fish with fennel salad and potatoes Square of dark chocolate Alcohol free spritz Asparagus and mayonnaise, bread, strawberries and whipped cream.

    Travel 6 months Post-op

I was in Eygpt at 8 weeks post op for a couple of weeks and was totally fine!
  24. Amazing! Thats nob subtle, your tummy looks much smaller, the top of your arm too and your neck looks much longer! Go you. I'm in the south of France for a conf and am absolutely miserable at how cold I am the whole time. I just feel freezing and can't seem to warm up it's 10°C (50°F) with a lot of wind ... but at least I'm not in Paris where it is 2°C (35°F)...
  25. II could have written this word for word. I'm at 66 days post op and I'm down 36lbs since surgery or 18% of my starting weight in just over 2 months. I'm 10.5lbs from being on the healthy weight range for my height (BMI) even though I do best with my leg and balance issues at a much lower BMI (BMI20) So I'm about half of the way to where I want to be ... even though I know that timescale woze the weight will start to come off slower soon. All that is positive but .... I could have written this word for word.... I'm also just so cold and tired the whole time. I'm eating the best I can quantity and quality wize but I'm just exhausted...
