  1. Have you lost a significant amount of weight (say 100lbs or more) and do NOT need plastic surgery because your skin has bounced back?

    Question about Net Carbs

Being a diabetic, I start with the carbs, subtracts the fiber, AND subtract the sugar alcohols if there are any....
  3. The mere thought of being able to shop in a store without a plus sized section is exciting and incredibly daunting at the same time. I literally do not ever remember shopping for myself at a place that didnt carry plus sizes, or weighing under 200lbs. On another note, I have gotten the impression that your feet shrink as well? That sucks, cuz I have close to 90 pair of shoes!

    Pre-Op Diet ROCKS!!!

I find that a lot of them are too sweet too... no chocolate or vanilla for me.... but I do like the coffee flavored protein drinks, both by Slimfast and Atkins. Also, I believe Atkins has a dark chocolate drink that takes a little of the sweetness out.
  5. Congratulations to you! So exciting! That is very far off for me, I am still in awe that I am actually having surgery in 3 weeks! I hope to one day be there with you!
  6. Thank you all for your responses! So helpful... Congrats to all of you on hitting new lower sizes, so exciting! It is crazy to see what sizes ppl wear at different weights! I am currently hanging around 280 and a 22... think I might be wearing this size for a while!
  7. I have to wonder if you might be dehydrated... the white tongue is a sign of that....

    September 2009 Band Date

UHC called with my approval on 8/19/09, scheduled for surgery 9/24/09! Its been a year and a half in the making, with some personal trials during that time, but I am soooo excited now! Also, I could use a little education on how to use the tickers that everyone uses!
  9. Hi all, I am new to this site and have read tons of interesting and helpful stuff. I was having a conversation with my best friend who was telling her sister than I am having LB (October 20th!). Her sister basically made the comment (which I agree with) why doesn't she do it on her own? She knows smart nutrition, knows she should exercise, she knows what to do to lose the weight. I kinda feel like she is right. I do know smart nutrition, and how to exercise and what to do. I am just too damn lazy. And, I don't have a frame of reference for being healthy or thin. I have always been overweight, and literally cannot remember being under 200 lbs or not having to shop in the plus sized section. Bottom line is this, I feel guilty over "taking the easy way out". I KNOW that this wont be easy, but I feel it is a more feasible option than trying to lose 116 lbs on my own through diet and exercise alone. Should I feel guilty that people work their asses off exercising and eating tiny amount sof uber healthy food to maintain their weight? Or, am I overanalyzing and should just be grateful that I get a chance to be healthy and that I have made the right decision for me. How do you deal with the mental stuff?

I second that, how do you attach the ticker to your signature?

    Disappointed~?~

Thank you to all for your support and inspiration. This decision has been a long time in the making for me. I started two years ago, did all the evaluation testing and then took a year and really thought about what I am going to do. I AM GOING TO DO IT! For me, it is all about being healthy, and a side benefit of the surgery is being even hotter than I am LOL! I am grateful to know that there is a website, and people out there, who can help me when I question my decision. I look forward to reading more of your posts and sharing in my journey with you! Good luck to you all and congratulations on your weight loss.
