Help - Can't keep anything down

Hi Susan, Looks like I missed you by 1 day. I was in there Tuesday for my fill with Dr. Chappano. He took me from 1cc all the way up to 2cc because I haven't been losing. Now I have lost 6 lbs since Tuesday....woo hoo! I have been the exact same way with chicken.....I cannot eat it. I have even tried dark meat and can't do it.the only Protein I have been able to keep down so far is crab meat and ground beef.

    How do you eat?

Does being full feel like something is stuck? I've just had my second fill and am having a hard time knowing when enough is enough. I don't feel anything, then all of a sudden I have to PB because it hurts so bad. Now I'm scared to eat. I think I'm going to do liquids a few more days to be safe.

Later studies found the average weight loss after one year to be 42 percent of excess weight. Recent Results Recent results more promising: 50% of excess weight after one year, 61% after two years, 65% after three years More recent studies found the average weight loss was 50 percent of excess weight after one year, 61 percent after two years and 65 percent after three years. Complications Complications in 9-20% Complications occur in 9 to 20 pecent of patients. Re-operation Re-operation in 1-13% Re-operation is necessary in 1 to 13 percent depending on who does the surgery. Comment: This suggests that if you plan on having this procedure, ask them how often reoperations are necessary. If it were me and the doctor I was considering to do the procedure did not have a re-operation rate of 5 percent or less, I would look for another doctor to do the procedure. Im saying bye bye to my hair!

See, I think the Nioxin does work. It completely changes how my hair feels and how much hair I lose when I wash or comb.

    Thirtysomething's

Hi everyone! My name is Michele and I live in the glorious (if you like hot and humid) state of Florida. I'm 35, married to my soul mate for 5 years, and have two daughters ages 15 and 12. I was banded April 13 by Dr. Ortiz in Tijuana, Mexico and have lost about 17-19 lbs. so far. It's nice to meet everybody!
  9. restriction after first fill? I didn't think I was either, but now, after two weeks, I am continually getting food stuck. I haven't PB'd or anything, just get the major stuck feeling that goes away after 15-20 minutes. This has cut WAY back on my eating. I think I'm scared to eat a lot. I don't necessarily get full, but just quit eating after 3-4 ozs protein, veggies and a little carbs. I know I could use another fill so that I can get full and not have to depend on will power or being scared to eat, but.... LOL......I'm scared to. I am scheduled to go back July 6 (4 weeks away), but the Doc's ofice called to see if I wanted to change it to sometime in June......ya think I should or just wait?
  10. I had NO restriction after being banded. I wasn't even sure I had a band until a few days ago. I don't get full per say....I could most definitely eat more, but I'm scared of getting that yucky feeling so much that I quit eating.

    Ice Cream Addiction!!! HELP!!!

Skinny Cows...Skinny Cows....LOVE THEM!!! They absolutely satisfy my ice cream cravings. I do like the mint ones, but the plain old vanilla are sooo yummy! The other "cow" product that helps with another of my food addictions (cheese) is laughing cow cheese. Give these a try, you won't regret it.

    Question about some pain...

What if you feel something, but the pain isn't that bad? I keep wondering why, when I eat do I feel something in the lower, right side when the band is much higher. I think I just got my question answered. But the feeling isn't that bad, just very noticeable.

    Should i get another fill?

You know, I was talking to my husband about that very same question yesterday. We were eating out and I got that stuck feeling. He literally took my plate away and told me time to stop. He said if you're full, quit now. I told him I didn't know if I was full or something was just stuck. How in the world you tell the difference I don't know.
  14. It was always my assumption that if you followed band rules ie. eating your protein first, then veggies. etc...stayed full for 4 or more hours..this is your sweet spot. If you follow the rules, but get hungry less than 4 hours between meals...you need a fill. Am I right? I know we don't always follow the rules, but to make sure you do or don't need a fill.....wouldn't this be the way to check?
  15. Me, Me!!! I have gained and lost the same 5 lbs. for weeks now. I weighed 217.5 to start, lost to 212 before surgery, then down to 200.5....back up to 206......down to 203......you get the picture. I have yet to go below 200 and it's killing me. I had my 1st fill last week, but so far it hasn't done much good. I don't go back for 2nd fill until July.....ugh!

    Scales R Moving Again.

I didn't think I could feel mine either (we had 1st fill on same day) until I overate some grapes night before last. I was reading a book and eating grapes at the same time (big no-no, I know) and all of a sudden I thought I was going to die. My chest hurt so bad, but eventually went away...no PB or anything. Now this is coming from someone who has NEVER had any kind of restriction at all....not even right after surgery. I wondered if I even had band....now I know! yesterday.......I definitely watched what and how much I ate.

    Help! Is this normal

EEEWWW.......that just grossed me out. Is it all the time?

    Scales R Moving Again.

I am so glad you posted this because I'm in the same boat and getting very frustrated. I've been losing and gaining the same 5 lbs. for weeks now. I can't wait for my 2nd fill. I have very slight restriction, but not enough to keep me from eating more than I should. I just get hungry.
  19. Miper70

    Still no anwer, Please help!!!

Wow, $400 a fill????? Are they under fluero? I didn't know this about the fill centers. I definitely won't post them again.
  20. I had 1cc put into my 10cm/4cc band yesterday. Though I don't feel restriction and can still eat as much as I want (he did not put me on liquids this time), I do feel a strange sensation in the back of my throat after I eat. It's almost like acid, but I don't have the regular heartburn sensations to go along with it. Common sense tells me this may have been from overeating......if so, that's a good thing because now I have a reason without restriction to eat less. I had severe acid reflux before being banded I don't ever want to go there again. Anyone else had this with 1st fill.....or actually anytime? 1 more question...........My Doc will be out of town so I can't have a fill for another 6 weeks. he usually does them at 4....would it be ok if I have no restriction, to call and ask for one at 3 instead? Thanks Everyone! Michele

    Had 1st fill......questions...

That was a great site....you should post it. I haven't actually lost any weight in weeks now. I keep bouncing up and down 5 lbs. On my low days, I am 1 lb. away from onederland. I guess that's my mini goal for now. I get so close, then within two days I bounce back up 5 lbs. It's very depressing. I am following band rules which I just started really doing 100%, and I eat the right amounts, but I can honestly say I am not full and I could definitely eat more.

  23. See, the thing about some of these Mexican Doctors and I do say some.....they don't have that many problems.....they've pretty much perfected the process so problems do not occur that often. I have done my homework. I spent hours on the phone with Inamed. I spoke to several surgeons who spoke very, very highly of "some" Mexican Doctors..mine being one of them. I can also assure you that if I did have a problem, Dr. Ortiz would not hesitate at all to help me, and is prepared to do so. His facility is just as nice and just as equipped as any hospital here in the states. I can't even begin to tell you how positive the experience was and still is as far as aftercare goes. These people CARE.....probably more so than any Doctor I have come across in the states. How many give out their cell phone numbers and answer on the first or second ring...then sit and talk to you for how ever long it takes to reassure you everything is ok? Well, MINE does!

    Had 1st fill......questions...

It's not really a lumpy feeling for me...it's almost like acid reflux that doesn't make it all the way up. I even woke up with a sore throat the next day. Yesterday, I ate much, much less and it wasn't there as bad. I guess it's my band talking to me....telling me to stop eating so much at one time...LOL!
