  4. Hi everyone!!! I haven't posted in months. Just living life with the band. I am going to try to go to the meeting tommorow night It;s at 6pm right? I cn't get below the 200 mark Still around 205 and have lost and gained that 5lbs for about 5 months. I am down from 273 when i signed up for this ride. I need to focus on losing the rest of this weight. :smile2:Joanie
  5. Daniellabee, Don.t get discouraged. It's hard to think you can eat something and then get stuck. I have the same issue-try the same food only methodically follow the rules-sometimes it works. Be careful after getting stuck because everything seems to get stuck for the next day because of irritation.I have had success with eating a small frozen dinner {not with pasta} on days when the band is irritated. I recently had .20 taken out of my band and now regret it because I,m eating twice as much and losing nothing-yet I still get stuck like before. Good luck.
  6. Hi everyone! Catching up on all the posts. My last appointment in Feb. they left my band alone and said to follow the rules to not get stuck. Easier said than done. I have found eating 5 mini meals ( 3 or 4 bites) seems to work for me. I'm losing almost 2 lbs a week but still have issues with alot of foods. I've given up trying to eat the things I love or want and eat what doesn't give me a problem. I also have no problem with popcorn or crunchy snacks. Hope to see everyone at next weeks meeting. Spring is near!!!!!!!
  7. Is the support group meetings this wed? NBflo Girl I tried to email you but i'm a rump in the computer. Are going to go to the next meeting? I see the N.P. this tuesday and I'm going to ask for an unfill. I'm down almost 10 lbs in 3 weeks-everything is making me pb.today it was 4 bites of scrambled eggs. Good thing is I'm not hungry but I'm feeling tired out.
  8. NBflo Girl, things are getting better. I am not PB'ing constantly like last week. I have really paid attention to what I am eating and what I can't tolerate. I am scheduled for a fill on Tuesday at 1pm Yeah Right!!! Maybe an unfill is more like it. I'm surviving on nuts and soup at work and at home I can add oatmeal and eggsalad/tuna- on a good note my knees are feeling great.(one reason I had this surgery was because they want to do a total left knee replacement.and I'm too young for that/so I'm trying to buy myself some time. I think 100lbs off my knees should help!!! How are you doing?
  9. Linda, I'm also interested in the meeting. I would be interested in fixing or at least taming my bad eating habits. A saturday would be fine as long as I didn't have to work{7-330}. I've read the band is like a drill sargent-now I know why!!!
  10. NBflo Girl I had another fill on wed. they put in 1.5ccfor a total of 4.5cc. I had only lost 1lb. during the 3 weeks with the first fill. The 5 lb. loss is nice but if I keep on having problems I am going to go back to the office. I only get a 2 or 3 SMALL bites of food and I get a buildup of mucous. If I eat a half cup of food a day i'm lucky. Any old bandsters know what's going on? Do I need some fluid taken out or maybe I am highly sensitive. I've never been scared to eat in my life. I'll see how supper goes. I will supplement with protein shakes for now.
  11. I am still having issues with getting stuck, Pbing, and taking a few bites of food and it fells like am swallowing a golf ball.I'm taking eraser size bites , chewing throughly and waiting. The only safe foods are soft or liquid. I've lost 5lbs in 4 days and i'm worried that i'm not getting proper protein. What are you bandsters having to eat at lunch at work? I'm afraid to eat anything solid but i can't do this forever! Please help
  12. It was great meeting everyone at the meeting. Linda- I have gotten chest tightness usually midline when something was stuck, I felt like i needed to burp.If i tried to wait It sometimes would proceed to sliming and spitting up which usually alleviated the discomfort. I have also experienced hiccuping - usually an indicator that i did something wrong-too fast-toomuch-toobig? I have been very careful following the rules regarding small bites and slowing down and it has made a big difference. Thank you for letting me borrow your book, I will return it at the next meeting.
  13. Hi everyone. The holidays are here and so are the temptations. The breakroom at work always has something to eat. I've tried to avoid it. I'm going to pour through my weight watchter recipes and try to have some healthy foods in my fridge for me. I also plan on buying some frozen low cal meals to eat if I'm in a hurry. I haven't been eating alot but I'm eating wrong- I want to have a healthy routine in place for the new year. WE WILL ALL LOOK AWESOME THIS SPRING!!!
  14. NBflo Girl, Dr. Posner gave me the realize band also. Did he put that wonderful "glue" on you also. I've unfortunatley have "tested" my band a few times eating normal food and have become uncormfortably full. I have been eating with my mind instead of stopping when I'm full. Has anyone else had this issue. Please help. I guess old habits are hard to break.
  15. Everyone. when I went for my 1 week appt. Posner had said in the hospital that I had no restriction but when I met with the NP at my appt. she said that the band is primed with fluid whin the put it in and then they let some fluid drain to gravity while they hook it up to the port so they really don't know how much is the band- everyone is different . That's why we fill out that questionnaire regarding how nuch we can eat and drink.
