About Me

I'm a Georgia native.  I met my wife in 2010, married in 2017, and she is very supportive of me.  I enjoy the outdoors, traveling, and watching cooking competition shows, among many other activities.  I've been overweight most of my life - beginning about the time I hit puberty.  The physicality of being overweight has continued to be a vicious cycle of burdens, stress, emotional damages, and an overall lowered quality of life.  My wife and I decided that I must seek intervention and stop the cycle of damage.  In August 2023, I visited a local Bariatric Surgery provider for a consultation.  At the consult, I learned that I was 6'2" tall, 375 pounds, wore 4x shirts, and was about a 44-46 waist size - the biggest I'd ever been.  I use a CPAP for sleep and take a handful of Rx medications. I went through the procedures over the course of several months and in November 2023, I was given news that my insurance would cover the surgery!  I was given a surgery date of 01-25-2024.  The morning of my surgery I weighed 333.4 pounds!  I had the SADI-S procedure done and did not experience any complications.  I stayed overnight in the hospital, and encountered some significant gas pains after I went through a "leak test" the following morning.  This situation resulted in me staying another night at the hospital, but I was released the following morning.  I've been recovering comfortable at home and trying to absorb as much as possible about my new lifestyle.  I'm here to learn, listen, provide feedback as I can, and just be a loser really, but in a good way!!!
