Weight stabilizing so quick?

You have a point here about tracking what I eat. Since my doctor didn’t bring up the GLP-1 I never mentioned it, but I thought of it. I didn’t do any research about it and from seeing some of the stories from YouTube scared me. I do know a few people who are taking it and they are ok with it and have good result in weight lose. I also heard they can have the weight bounce back after they stop. Again I didn’t do any research and not knowledgeable about it. I don’t think it’s something I want to try as of yet, but it’s good to know I have options. The plastic surgery part I know it’s something I will get eventually because of the excess skin. If at 195lbs, it’s already bothering me, it will bother me even more at 175. My goal weight is 160lbs, if I can get to 175 on my own, plastic surgery will get me to 160. I’m going to try the hardest on my own and get to 175 for now. My first goal was to be under 200lbs, then I can rethink my goal, which is where I am now. From 200 to 199lbs it took me months because I would drop to 199 and bounce back to 201. And from there on , my weight is bouncing around. Luckily I am stable at 195. Finger crossed that it doesn’t go back up. -

Weight stabilizing so quick?

@Lilia_90 Hi! Congrat on reaching your goal so fast! I have very stubborn fat and weight and I come to the realization that I have to accept that is just how my body is going to be. When I first started I did went all out and use the food scale for the first few months. I bought a set of products that could use an app to keep track, scale, food scale and measure tape. After a few months of using it, I kinda picked up on how big of a size I should cut and how much to take with salad etc. from time to time I still use if it comes to something I am not familiar with. I didn’t use the scale yesterday and put down what I ate on the app, it’s about 1000 calories that I ate. Of course it could be more than 1000 calories if I count the Pam spray that I used and a drizzle of salad dressing, but sometimes it’s very tiring to counts everything, and I don’t want to live like that. Mindfulness and healthy living is the habit that I need to do in this journey. That’s why I stop using the scale every single day. After all we can’t bring scale out to measure everything when we are out and about in places. I also had 1 hour work out and burned about 400 calories. oh while typing I realized I had a cup of unsweetened almond milk that should be about 50 calories that I had yesterday, so I have to be careful about these small things I do without remembering. I guess my frustration is that I feel like I am doing not bad, very healthy compared to how I used to be, and working out. I wanted to at least be able to get rid of 100 lbs… but my body is telling me no. I am usually very hard on myself and always aim for higher. So that’s that and I will learn to deal with it. Doesn’t mean I am giving up though. In the past, I had never dream of being able to stick to gym routine, regular gym is so just boring to me and I could never know what to do with all those machines, like I am just wandering inside. This around , I found something that I enjoyed and worked for me. I found that I need to workout in a group class and having everyone working out at the same time doing the same thing , this actually motivate me, so I started Orange Theory Fitness, and my body retain water stubbornly so I found hot yoga and it’s something I enjoy. The last few appointments with the doctors I kept complaining my slow weight loss, they assured me that I was doing great, but I shouldn’t not be looking into plastic surgery so soon and it’s a long time away to when I should have it done. However, the last appointment, the doctor mentioned that if I really want, I can start with a consultation. Then my nutritionist telling me my weight might be stabilizing… I feel like this is a green light. lol Anyway, I took a few screenshots of the app I use, want to share to this for those that want to try something like this. I bought the Renpho Health products and link them in the app, so I can track my weight, what I eat and measure the inches of my body all in 1 app. -

@NickelChip I do snack on nuts, sometimes use them for breakfast with non fat Greek yogurt with some fruit. Coffee I drink 1-2 times a week with non fat milk and no sugar syrup. Once a week I have a meal in restaurant and allow myself to have whatever I am craving with portion that I can tolerate. I do allow myself to indulge once in a while, so I don’t get crazy carvings, but to be honest I don’t even order unhealthy food when I eat out. I crave for more quality food now. You are so right that I do feel like I m in a size that is close to my goal weight . I feel like I look very close to my goal weight, but the scale says other wise. I never wanted to be skinny skinny, but just healthy in my own way. I keep imagine myself without the excess skin and think that I would be happy after that. 160-170lbs looking is where I want to be. I’ve been obsessed with researching for plastic surgeries. I do know it’s not something I should do now, I would want to wait for at least another 6 months and evaluate then. -

For examples for what I eat, I attached some pictures here. This morning I worked out for 1 hour, and ate, 3oz of ham, 1oz cherry tomatoes and 2 oz of mash potatoes. Wanted some energy to spend the day with my children and I ate a little bit more carb for lunch. -

I read my post and it made me seem so negative. I’m definitely not trying to do that. This journey was the best decision I made. I was scrolling on my phone and I couldn’t find many pictures of the old me… I only took 1 before picture the day before I had the surgery. I was also hiding behind someone or only took upper body pictures . Then I look at recently, I have so much more pictures, taking selfies, and even full body pictures. So I am sharing here with my before and after. First 3 before and the rest after. -

Weight stabilizing so quick?

Hi Sue, I’m eating about 1000-1200 calories a day on the days I am working out. I add a protein drink as my snack for the days I work out. If I am not working out, I eat around 900-1000 calories. I’m still following 3oz protein, 1oz veggie and 1oz carb rule. When I am more hungry I add more protein instead of 3oz protein I eat 5oz protein. You might be right about working out, it might not be the key to losing weight. That’s why my size is shrinking but not my weight. It definitely helps burn the fat though. I think this is also why I have so much excess skin. I have excess skin on my arms, tummy, thigh, back… basically everywhere, I know it will not bounce back just because how much hang I have. Even the weight didn’t change much, the excess skin is getting more wrinkly day by day. -
Weight stabilizing so quick?

I got my revision to gastric bypass back in Jan 2024 and loss total of 78 lbs from 273lbs, now 195lbs. However on surgery date I was 250lbs. So 55lbs weight loss after surgery. I consider 55 lbs weight loss to be slow weight loss after 10 months. And to mention I’ve been going to the gym for the pass 6 months and average 3 hours weekly work out time. Not just regular gym work out… I joined orange theory and also workout classes in hot sauna room. A lot of HIIT workouts. The past 3-4 months I’ve been struggling to loss more. I would loss 3 lbs and plateau for a month and then gain back 3-4 lbs within a few days… it’s been this cycle for a while now. I have to admit that I am eating more compare to right after the surgery, but still not the amount that I am binging and eating too much. I would say 5-8 oz depends how hungry I am. On days I go to the gym, I am more hungry. I still control fat and sugar intake. I eat protein more than carb. I don’t drink with my meals. My nutritionist said maybe my body is trying to stabilize my weight loss, and I might lose weight at a more slow rate now. If this continue then I will have to speak with him again. I know my weight loss is very slow, but I feel that my size is going down tho. I am now size 12 M/L from 22 XXL, sometime I even fit in size small… which is funny to me, because I took my family’s old clothing when they were size M they weight 160lbs, but I am 195lbs. I do have some excess skin and it’s getting bothersome. Clothes just don’t fit properly and I feel trap in this body…I still don’t feel like myself even after losing almost 80lbs. My size might not seem big, but my weight is still high. I want to reach my goal weight of 100lbs weight loss at 175lbs. At the moment I have plastic surgeries in the back of my mind and I can’t wait to reach my goal and get it done, but I am afraid I don’t reach my goal… the past 3-4 months I am just maintaining the same weight. Sorry I am rambling, but I want to hear how long it takes for all of you to get to your weight stabilizing stage? How do you know for sure you reached your lowest weight? -

Chewable Vitamins vs Swallowing
newbegining2024 replied to MasonMoonGirl's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I might be the odd here and like my chewable better than the pill. The supplement oils usually is larger and I hate taking it. I tried the chewable before surgery and it tasted gross, but for some reason my taste bud changed and it tasted ok for me after surgery. It’s like candy for me, so I like to think it’s a snack instead taking pills. -
I don’t have any knowledge on sadis, however I just want to let you know that taking the first step to seek help is so brave and it’s the beginning of this victory. I hope all goes well for you!

Winter approaching and I am cleaning out my closet. Realizing I have no winter clothing that fit me properly. I also clean out a whole box of clothing that no longer fits. I tried to look more throughly to see if I can find anything, but looks like the whole closet does not fit me anymore… over 10 years worth of clothing gone. Well, time for some retail therapy. lol I will have to try to refraining myself from getting too much new clothes. So far I bought myself 3 sweaters from Quince and 2 pair of jeans from Gap about a month ago, they are fitting loose already. -
New Clothes

I feel the same way! I am size 20 to now 12/14. Sometimes even size 10. I bought things online thinking I might be XL, because I was previously XXL, but they didn’t fit. Then I exchange to L and it’s still too big…Clothing size is very complicated now, but I am feeling the same excitement!!! Woohooo I would like to suggest don’t buy too much new clothing now because you will size down fairly quickly. I have to buy new clothes every 2 months or so. I bought summer clothes in July for the summer and they don’t fit anymore. I bought more sweaters for the winter and refrain from buying more. I know it’s so hard not to buy more! -
