Ok surgery buddies. I don’t mean to go share too much, but I haven’t had a bowel movement in almost 2 weeks. I’m starting to get really concerned. My support staff suggested Mira lax which I may have to get. Anyone else experience this so far? -
The past few days I’ve noticed my multivitamin makes me nauseous. Yesterday I took my vitamin on an empty stomach and figured that was the reason. Today I took my vitamin after I ate and let my stomach settle. I followed it up with some apple sauce and needless to say everything came up. I take the Procare Health daily capsules and am thinking I should switch to a tablet.

Had my surgery on 1/25 and I’ve been off work for a full 3 weeks. Tomorrow is my first day back and I’m DREADING it. My energy levels have been low. Since I’ve been off, I’ve been waking up around 8am after a good 10 hours of sleep and I’ll do a few things around the house. Nothing strenuous. I don’t work a desk job and am constantly on my feet from 7am to 7pm. All this week I’ve been trying to wake up at 4am which is when I would normally get up for work, but I just end up napping. I work the next 3 days in a row. It’s gonna be rough!!! Wish me luck! -

Last night my family went out to eat at a Mexican restaurant and I didn’t want to be the downer so o went with them. As I was looking over the menu, I just wanted to cry. My options were very limited. I hated that feeling of not being able to enjoy a family dinner. -

I am craving sugar free popsicles but specifically Italian ice. Lately I’ve noticed that my water has to be ice cold for me to drink and I just like the coldness of popsicles. Any suggestions? -

10 days post op and I decided to go with my BF to do the grocery shopping. I figured the walking would be good. Half way through, I started to feel nauseous. I think it was all the smells from going up and down the isles. I went to sit in the car and just being outside with the breeze helped subside the feeling. Anyone else have issues like this? -
Today I changed from chicken broth to a cream based soup. I had been eating chicken broth for WEEKS now and was so excited to try a cream based soup. At lunch I was able to finish 1/2 cup with no issues. My tummy felt full and heavy and I wanted to nap. For dinner, I reheated some soup and everything was fine. I was laying in bed, watching some Netflix and then from nowhere the back of my mouth started salivating. I ran to the medicine cabinet for some Zofran. Even thought it dissolved completely, I still threw up my soup from dinner. I was dreading that heaving motion, but it wasn’t as bad as I was expecting. I think I was just too excited to move onto new things and my stomach wasn’t ready. Tomorrow that soup is going in the garbage and I’m going back to what works, Chicken Broth!!!

Anyone else having unbelievable cravings. I want pizza soooo bad. I think I’m sick and tired of being on this liquid diet and all I want to do is taste some of the sauce. Anything is better than limited liquids. I’m 9 days post op and hopefully next week I’ll be able to transition to puree. -

Had my surgery on 1/25!!! I’m still struggling with pain after I take sips. It feels more like pressure or “gas”. I’m trying different temps of fluids to see if that helps. Also added yogurt today. I was really hesitant that anything dairy related would do a number on my stomach AND the taste would be nasty. But so far so good!! 😊 -
Lack of Support Group/Coach/Trainer
Kri-star replied to Ashleycatx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Ashley, are you a gym member? I would assume most gyms have a trainer that you can get started with. The hospital that I had my surgery at has multiple support groups and some are done through zoom. Try contacting a local hospital that offers weight loss and see if you can join their groups. -
First off, congrats on taking a step towards a healthier you. I myself am 5 days post op and I know EXACTLY you feel. The first few days I kept thinking why did I do this to myself?! Pain and swelling didn’t help either, but those have begun to subside. I do constantly feel like every time I take a sip of fluids, there is a big pocket of gas in my stomach that stops me in my tracks. After reading everyone’s advice, I believe it is the temperature of the liquids that’s causing it. I was only drinking cold fluids but yesterday I made myself some chicken noodle soup and strained everything out. I was able to sip on that warm liquid without any “gas” pains. Try something warm to see if it helps ease your stomach.
