I don't know that I feel any real restriction but boy do I get full off of very little "food". I can't get an entire protein drink down in one sitting (11 oz box). I have to sip a little, come back in about an hour and sip a little more. A cup of broth takes about 45 mins to get down. I just take my time. I'm sippin' all day long. Water, protein drinks, broth, decaf coffee and decaf tea. I've thought my inablility to get lots of stuff down was due to post-op swelling. I know there's no saline in that band. I won't get any for five more weeks. Maybe it's all in my head? I hope it stays that way I will say I am SO tired of fruity sweet stuff that I could SCREAM! I look forward to my broth for something salty and some other flavor than sweet. I never in a million years thought I'd say, "I don't want anything sweet!"

Every incision itches. I've noticed today that I have little raised spots around the edges of where the tape was. I wonder if I'm having a reaction? It isn't bad enough that I want to scrach at it, just enough that I know it's there. Bleh.

I didn't mean that I drank soda, it just *feels* like that sort of burp. I've been off all soda since about three weeks before surgery. It's gone from my life forever. Strangely enough, I don't miss it. Sorry I was confusing...

Ahhh...burps are the best. It feels like you've had a huge drink of cola and you just have to burp! I was just banded on 5/9 so I have all sorts of gas. The family has made a game of it (as sad as it sounds). The doctor said several times it was very important to pass gas so each time it happens my family says "HOORAY!" Make me feel not quite so embarrassed.

Hey guys! I'm home...very sore and tired but home. My experience was fine and I feel a whole lot better than I thought I would. liquids are hard as heck to get in. The very last thing on my mind is eating. I'm doing by breathing exercises, walking, passing gas (what fun and oh, so lady like!) and just trying to get back in the swing of things. I'm going to work my peach Jello right now and take it easy. I'll post more when I feel more human. Marianne

What about Campbell's Select soups. The butternut squash, mushroom, etc. They are very, very creamy and have tiny bits of stuff in them. I've had the butternut and it was AWESOME! Thoughts for using it as a mushie?

I want to get in on the Myspace action! I've been on there almost two years (it will be two in August). I don't have a fancy page at all. I use it to keep in touch with friends and to blog. Add me if you'd like http://www.myspace.com/marianneintn

Just wanted to jump in here... Surgery is happening Tuesday, May 9th. I'm starting to get really, really nervous and am asking myself, "Have I really tried everything?" I keep coming back to "Yes." I need help to make this happen. I want to be healthier and live healthier. I keep saying this while my tummy says, "You've been on full liquids today...what happened to crunch and stuff your face?" I'm kind of shakey and weird feeling. I'm a little snippy as well. I keep telling myself this will pass and I know that it will. Today my mom said, "I just hope you are not doing this because you're looking for the easy way out." I said, "Mother. *sigh* This is NOT the easy way out." Does anyone else get tired of explaining? Ok, I've rambled enough. Time to get some sleep. If I'm sleepin', I'm not eatin' Night, Marianne

Speaking of Isopure Zero Carb drinks... They are onsale at GNC until the end of the month. Here in Nashville they are like $2.63 each. Not bad...

Thanks for sharing this. My band will be "born" Tuesday morning. This reaffirms for me why I'm doing this. Thank you-- Marianne

Fellow Mayer jumping in here! I'm going to be banded on May 9th with Dr. Hugh Houston in Nashville, TN. I have my pre-op and dietican stuff next Monday, April 24th. I'm very, very excited to move on with my life. I want to be active and comfortable and off all of the darn meds I take. My big struggle will be head hunger. I'm working outside more to keep me away from the kitchen. I'm finding as long as I stay busy and away from the television I'm not as likely to snack. Good luck and positive vibes to everyone! I've told anyone who'll listen. Like others, I think my telling folks will help me in the accountability department. I'm also very, very lucky to work with three ladies who've been banded. They've been successful and look outstanding (one is down 100 lbs, one 87 lbs and one banded a month ago is down 29). I told my family and closest friends first then branched out a bit. Now even the lady in our cafe at work knows. Yep, I'm a blabbermouth I've sort of taken it as an opportunity to educate folks on GBS vs. LAP banding. I was amazed with the number of people who didn't have a clue. Good luck to you :hippie: Marianne
