Roberta, So glad to hear you post! How are you doing? April Bandits~ April is almost over can you believe we made it? Anybody up for a May challenge? Maybe we could set some goals for ourselves and track them in together. Amourette, have you tried blending up a can of soup? I have bought every soup on the shelf. I love the juicer idea...might have to go buy one. Sorry to hear that you got so sick. Indybaby, way to go gurl! I am dying to get out and drive my Jeep...it's been nice and muddy here in So. Cali. Ok gurls lets keep on the "band"wagon. he he

How's the pain? Yoda You'll do GREAT! Ceprano you are so close! You will do great too! Amourette, DO NOT DRINK FROM A STRAW!!! Drinking from a straw allows way too much air to get into your tummy it will increase the gas...which will increase the pain. Only sip from a spoon. I have done this and taken Gas X and chewed a Tums several times everyday and I haven't had any gas pains (knock on wood). I blend up my favorite soups and of course the good 'ol protein shakes and seem to be doing well. There is a lot of gurrgling but it is not painful. I guess you could blend up anything that you wanted...I have just kept it to soup and shakes. My port sight does hurt to get up and down. But overall I am doing good...even walked the block today. Hooray for the rest of the April Bandits! Were almost all the way home!!! </TD></TR><TR UNSELECTABLE="on" hb_tag="1"><TD style="FONT-SIZE: 1pt" height=1 UNSELECTABLE="on"> </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

I am ALIVE and at home doing well. I have a lot of soreness at the port site. My port is right near my rib cage on the left side. My stomach has been rumbley and grumbley for a few hours now. I also had to wear the inflating socks. But I took a sound machine--you know one of those that play ocean, rainforest, waterfall sounds. It really drowned out all the hospital noise and I was able to rest when the nurses didn't come in. Ceprano thanks for thinking of me. I am glad to be on this side. </TD></TR><TR UNSELECTABLE="on" hb_tag="1"><TD style="FONT-SIZE: 1pt" height=1 UNSELECTABLE="on"> </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

I started the whole liquid diet about a month ago. The first week, I subsituted one meal for a protein shake and I ate a tuna or salamon salad. The second week I switched out two meals. The third and fourth weeks I tried to go liquids only...I have to be honest and tell you that I really struggled with the last couple of days. My Dr. is a really stickler for losing weight and making sure you shrink your liver. So hopefully 20lbs will have that base covered. April bandits you guys would really crack up if you heard the dreams that I have been having. Last night we were all getting our bands put in while we were on a cruise ship. There were IV lines and ports sticking out everywhere. I missed the check in and couldn't get banded. lol I did have trouble getting on today too. Huh?? Must have been something wrong with the site. Tomorrow I do clear liquids...no Easter feast for me. Happy Easter everyone! </TD></TR><TR UNSELECTABLE="on" hb_tag="1"><TD style="FONT-SIZE: 1pt" height=1 UNSELECTABLE="on"> </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

Get to a Dr. and get the ball rolling before you do any weight loss. My Dr. wouldn't do the surgery if I didn't loose 10-15lbs before hand. And that was after I had lost 6ish lbs. He explained that losing weight before-hand helps the liver slim down and be more flexible to be moved to put the band in. Good luck and best wishes.</TD></TR><TR UNSELECTABLE="on" hb_tag="1"><TD style="FONT-SIZE: 1pt" height=1 UNSELECTABLE="on"> </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> -

As I write this, I realize that I am fat. I am fat because I am LAZY and I love food. I have lost track of who I thought I was. I see a picture and think "THAT is NOT me!" So here I am 1 week out from having a lapband put in. I want to get back to who I was. I love life and all the adrenaline rushes that I can get from it. I must confess to myself that I have been losing weight but not how the Dr. told me to. He said liquids only and I did try but I gained 3-4 lbs so I went back to the salads and fish. But now I am scared that he won't do the surgery bc I havent' shrunk my liver. I have been on liquids but have cheated with an egg salad samie. I seem to always try to do it my way...I have failed over and over doing it my way. Why do I always want to see if I can win by cheating? It that a personality flaw? I am going to be faithful for the rest of the week. I really do want to win.
