Hi Penguin733, thanks for the reply. What surgery did you have and what’s your goal weight? I’m day 6 in my post op and down to 254 lbs already. My goal weight range is 190-200 lbs but concerned my weight will drop below this mark. -

It’s day 5 post op and feeling much better. Just have to get used to sipping my liquids slower. Although, watching the NFL playoff games and seeing all the tasty food commercials has me wanting to start chewing again. Can’t wait for my first real food meal, no matter how small the portion size might be in the beginning. -

I just had DS stage 1 aka the SADI-S surgery on Jan 10. First couple of days were rough as well. For me, I had uncontrolled hiccups and reflux just sipping water. I’m on day 3 post op and getting a little better. I still can’t sip very much but the hiccups have subsided a bit. I also couldn’t lye down in my bed due to the pain so I’ve been resting, sitting, and trying to sleep upright in my recliner chair. -
Hi Wellington and thanks for the reply. So what did your weight get down to at the lowest point? Also, did you try not to lose so much weight or was the surgery choice (SADI) just that effective in losing the weight no matter what you did along the way? I still have time to decide against having the SADI and just going with the sleeve but still undecided.....

SADI surgery coming Jan 10! -
Hello, It really came down to SADI seems to be more effective on keeping the weight loss off long term (5+ years) post-surgery. My doctor also said there is less chance of getting GERD/acid reflux with SADI compared to the sleeve.

Hello, How is your wls journey going? I'm similar to you in that I'm 5 11.5 tall and around 265 pounds. My surgery date is Jan 10, 2024 and scheduled for the SADI. However, I may go with the sleeve because I don't want to lose too much weight. Goal is to stay around 190 pounds. -
Hello all, this is my first post on this forum. I'm scheduled for the SADI on Jan 10, 2024, and have mixed emotions. My weight now is 270 lbs (BMI is 36.5) and I'm 5 ft 11.5 inches tall. I'm somewhat concerned about losing too much weight and looking anorexic as well. My goal weight is around 190 lbs. I still have time to decide between the SADI or the gastric sleeve. Reading some of these posts may help decide which direction to go.
