    Sorry to say

Please note: I did not post why it did not work, did I??? Nice job pointing out the obvious, I'm flawed. I'm happy for the people it did work for.
  5. lap banding does not work for everyone.
  6. I was banded in October 08 and am now gaining weight. I have lost all hope and have since let myself go as far as control over food. I never experienced good control after fills and never really lost weight after surgery. Has anyone else experienced this? Please don't suggest seeing my MD- it may sound silly but I am too embarassed to go having gained weight. Can anyone relate? I am so discouraged.

    this thing

I was banded in October, and post op weight loss has been verrry slow... and 100% MY FAULT, not my bands. I did the exact opposite of what I was supposed i.e. ate plenty of ice cream amongst other things. I was very frustrated with myself, but came to realize that I love having my band. Absolutely love it. It motivated me to get back on track quicker, and drag my ass to the gym. I like having it there as a (sometimes annoying) reminder that I chose this to help me. So now I am doing everything right, and have been for a few weeks and haven't lost any weight, but that's ok, I will. How can I not? I'll just keep at it, and I know it will come off. This is just for people so fed up with their band they regret, hopefully a little inspiration to keep going, because I know I will.

    time off work

I was banded 10/16 (a thursday), by Monday I was able to go to school for a couple hours, but that was about it. Even sitting at the desk made me tired and lugging books around made me sore. But everyday I was feeling a lot better, so I would say take a full week off if you can because you and your body need time to heal. Even if you feel great, your body still needs time!
  9. I got sick the week before my surgery also, and freaked out because they don't do elective surgeries on sick people. So, with that, I took 1000mg of Vit. C everyday, drank plenty of water, and slept as much as possible. By the time my surgery date came around, I felt better. Good Luck! I know it's freaky to get sick so close to the big day.

    fell off the wagon

My husband smoked for 14 years. 3 packs a day, and a couple months ago he went on chantix and has done amazing with it. Insurance covers it so it only cost $20, it is definitely worth it! Good Luck.
