I am just going to put it all out there because I feel like no one is talking about it and the reality is, we are adults and sex is a big part of our lives/relationships. So this one is for the ladies: have you had any issues with performing oral sex post surgery? Has swallowing cum bothered your stomach? As always, thank you all for your answers and for keepin it real!
-
Thanks ladies! I was genuinely curious and turns out, I had a legitimate stomach bug 🤮But important info, never the less. I love this community so much. Back into the dating world now and it’s been an adventure lol

Girl, you can totally laugh! I just really needed to know lol I’ve been having a bad stomach week and I was like nothing I have been doing has changed…except 😂 But thank you for being honest and a woman in solidarity! Haha

Toxicity is terrible, isn’t it? But thank you for the hope. And that’s so beautiful that you guys are a blended family. Kids benefit so much from a happy and safe home 💜

I just want to say that this thread makes me smile. 5 months ago, I came out of a 7 year relationship. He loved my body and I’m grateful for that, but unfortunately has a lot of demons of his own he was not willing to work on, so it ended badly. Now that I’ve started this journey and am losing the weight, which is still so new as I’m only one month out, I see the change in my interactions with men and I find it very interesting. I am TERRIFIED of eventually getting back out there and dating. I’m afraid they won’t understand my story, my body, the inevitable loose skin or that I will be a different person entirely. It’s such a strange thing to think about. I’m just happy to hear that so many of you are in body positive, supportive relationships. It means those men are out there.

My name is Mandy actually, Lark was commenting to me lol. But I appreciate your story and experience. This is just one of the pieces of the puzzle I feel like no one talks about. But I thank you for sharing and I’m wishing you strength and healing in your journey too! -

Thank you for the response. I’m out another month now. But I’m looking into different jobs also while I have the time. Thinking of you and know you’re not alone either. This to shall pass. -

Just really wanted to reach out because I’ve had a tough day. I was supposed to return to work today but I have a very physically demanding job. I had a rough two days with food and abdomen pain, so I decided to not return just yet. I’m feeling like I may be better suited going back to a desk job both for healing and the ability to have a more consistent schedule working the same hours each week, as I’m concerned I’ll struggle with maintaining my new routines at my current job. Particularly the time to eat and drink as often as needed. Has anyone else experienced anything similar? -

My doctor is very kind and when I get emotional today he said that he wants me to remember how I felt seeing that number today. And that as long as it always goes down, one pound is a win. And he is right. We all get so wrapped up in the number rather than the feeling of all we have accomplished. The fact that all of us here worked so hard to get surgery and now are on this rollercoaster journey, only shows our strength. You’re doing amazing and know you will continue to! 1,5,7,18 etc…it’s all weight we no longer have to carry ever again 🖤 -

I had surgery 1/24 and this morning was my first post op appt (9 days). I lost 18 pounds! Like, WHAT!? It’s not even 2 weeks. I was so shocked I wasn’t even emotional. Today, I am celebrating me for doing this. -
Hey fellow Bariatric babes and dudes!!! I am 1 week post op and still need to sleep in the recliner, as one 2 of my incisions are still unbearable when laying flat. Did any of you experience this? I feel like everyone went right to sleeping in a bed. TIA for any answers!

That sounds horrible! But good on you for pushing through! Also, I’m very glad everyone likes that quote. A teacher my Sophomore year said it and I’ve been sticking to it in life every time I get stuck in my own head. It’s so true! No one’s journey is the same at all.

The RNY certainly sounds tough, but I’m glad you made it to the other side of it. I’m just glad to know I’m not the only one who is struggling with this. Comparison is the thief of joy as they say. I’m glad brighter days ahead.

Thank you so much for responding. Congratulations to you as well. I feel so much better and less alone after your response. I have just soreness now…until I lay down and see stars. It’s so nice to not be the only one 🖤

For all my 1/24 surgery twins, we did it! But man has it been a RIDE already. I had some issues at the hospital surgery day with post surgery blood vomiting but that’s apparently normal. It was horrific and scary though. It went away and when I got home the next day, I did great with fluids. I’ve been keeping 64 ounces down. Starting soft today. Protein shakes/yogurt and more jello. So heats hoping. But the worst is the gas and incision pain. So much swelling but, trying to focus on the long term success. Sending love and healing to all!!! -

Tomorrow is the big day and I am terrified. I am getting the surgery for unconventional reasons, so I’m very high risk. But all of you and your posts have been so comforting these last few month, so thank you! -

It’s all the unknowns. I know I’m one tough chick, but the spectrum of the experiences is unnerving. All I know is that, terrified or not, we are all doing the best thing for our bodies!!! I’ll be thinking of you! -
