I have been doing some crunches (that i HATE) lately because my trainer makes me but it seems to be working. I also bought this thing I call a "Fat Belt" that I got from Walmart...its like a rubber belt you wear around your waist that makes you sweat. I think that helps. I even bought the shorts to make you sweat around your hips and my hips have been going down too.
