    Any October Bandsters!??!?!

i go for my 2nd fill today :thumbup:and hopefully i will have the restriction back that i once had. Christmas will be the test. i'm down another 3lbs but that's 3 out of the 5lb i gained back since being back on solids. i've been playing around with 2-3lbs for 2 weeks now and it's driving me crazy:cursing:, if this doesn't get it i'm turning into a "Fill Junkie" i swear..lol so we will see...Hope everybody else is doing good and i'm Wishing All My Smashing Pumpkins A Happy Holidays
  6. not sure how to fix it, but i was told if you drink with your meals (BIG NO, NO:thumbdown:) it has the potential to stretch. you would probably have to have it replaced, i would think ! took off and repositioned ??

    Any October Bandsters!??!?!

Yep, Yep these darn Holidays and all the potluck lunches and Holiday Dinners are really tough  when it comes to eating less. especially with no feeling of real restriction. this has been the hardest challenge ever, i'm also ready for them to hurry by as fast as possilbe. everything is just so darn good:drool:, and like yourself SickNTired i've had my first fill and the restriction is gone. but i am fortunate that i was able to call the Dr. and get my 12-29 apt changed to monday 12-22(before Christmas). so we will see how the restriction is with the 2nd fill :w00t:

What made you decide on getting banded?

hello all, for me it was : 1. being told i was type 2 diabetic, and never/ not being able to take pills to control it !:mad2::blushing: 2. never being able to control my weight or get it off and keep it off !:frown: 3. actually seeing myself in pictures and not realizing i was that heavy. i always felt fat and fabulous/ BBW. 4. tired of my outside not matching the way i feel on the inside. and trying on clothes and having them not fit the way i thought they should.:crying: 5. and last but not least having a child/family member make a comment that if i took a bath all the Water would come out of the tub because i was too fat... now that hurt me more than anything. i know i am heavy but wait a damn minute i can still take a bath and keep all the water in !!!:crying: (i'll show them)

GottaBThin - it's okay we all struggle and hit hurdles everyday. it's not easy at all, you just have to pick back up and start over the next day:smile2:. and exercising is not easy either it's hard getting motivated :bored:some time, you have to focus on something and pull it from deep down. thinking about having lose skin usually gets me out the house:blink: and on my way, and music with a nice beat is a must:cool2: ! and eating right and fighting the mental is a problem for me almost daily as well, i don't think you're the only one who wants a fill because you don't have mental control :blushing: i'm one of those also !! i had a large honeybun full of sugar, carbs, and calories yesterday and then went to the gym to try and redeem myself but only did 20min on the treadmill. so yes i feel guilty also, if we had mental control we would'nt of needed the band in the first place. it's a learning process that will get better with time. "Time Ease All Things":smile2:
  10. WannaBSkinnyB - yeah it kind of makes you question if you have the band, besides the scars to prove it that feeling is gone. after your 1st fill most Doctors put you back on liquids for 48hr and then back to solids. that's when i felt restriction better than i ever have before. i think i'm turning until a "Fill Junkie"..lol

MollyJo - i do have a Dr.Apt. 12-29-08 and i'm trying to decide if i want to wait until that date comes or call for one sooner ?? i tell you these bands are funny and very hard to try and read or understand. just when you think you are learning your band it changes. before i did'nt think i had good restriction and then all of a sudden something weird happen. i had a protein shake for my morning break @ 8am(like i have before) and to my surprise it kept me full( as a tick) all through out that day pass lunch (11:30) until that afternoon around 5pm. i have had protein shakes before, just about every two days and it has never kept me that full that long. even when i tried to drink after that i remained full off of liquid. i've also noticed that i'm not hungry in the morning time like i use to be and don't get hungry until around noon.. so right now i'm confused and thinking about waiting until 12-29 (my next scheduled apt.)to ask for another fill. it'll give me time to let this band go through it's motions and changes and give me time to understand them before i cry "Fill" again. Keep up the good work everybody, we'll get it together soon.
  12. Yeah BgB9 you're right smack in the middle of bandster hell, i went throught that around Thanksgiving and decided that i was going to enjoy it and worry about if i gained when i got my 1st fill. and come to find out i lost 2lbs, so don't worry about it or beat yourself up about it. It just feel a little scary not having that restriction, especially if you don't have a good hold on the mental part. for me the 1st fill was just a warm up and i think i'm ready for my 2nd fill. so i would'nt say starve yourself, but eat(healthy choices) and not worry about gaining right now. hang in there it will get better! Sooverit- if i'm not mistaken you're probably going in for a check-up on your incisions and to see how you are healing. like gentlywind stated they usually wait 4-6 weeks before they do a fill, it really would be unsafe at this point to have one.
  13. wow your friend is doing good, and that's going to work out well between you two. so you really saw the process already and know what to expect. yeah i think i'm gonna be a fill junkie also..lol addicted to that restriction ! the best part is also the toughest part to get through and that's the liquid diets, i loved that stage because the lbs flew off like it was nothing. that's when i lost the most and it did give me a good head start and much encouragement and faith in myself. yeah i know you're anxious to get this thing going. i'm very excited and happy for you because i know how great it feels to be on the Post-Op side of it ! take care and keep in touch

    Any October Bandsters!??!?!

GottaBThin - What's this i'm getting into? Exercising:crying: i have the exercise part down pack, i started going to the gym the 2nd week out of the hospital:blush:. i also have that fear that my skin will not bounce back:blink:, and have been very aggressive about it since the start. i go about every other day no matter what the day falls on and spend 30min:drool: on the treadmill and 40mins with strengths. working on my arms, legs, stomach with all of their machines and then i finish up on the bike for about 5min. i had my brother come with me to show me what machine works what, and have came up with a routine and plug in my earphones:cool2: and really feel like a contestant from The Biggest Loser on a "Last Minute Workout" with myself.:wink2: the problem i'm having right now is restriction, i'm starting to feel like that 1st fill was just a warm up and i feel close to what i did before i got it. there has been times where i knew i ate too fast but still have not had anything get stuck yet. makes me wondering what did the 1st fill do ? my next Dr. Apt is 12-29- is that too soon to have another fill? i'm certainly going to ask for one!

    Anyone else have bc/bs insurance

I also have Bc/Bs (NewJersey) and they also requested 5yr history of just my height and weight from my Primary Care. When it came to what Diets i have tried me and my Pc sat down and went over that before they wrote the letter. I really did'nt try that many diets, my PC just worded it well:closedeyes:. and being that i am Type 2 Diabetic and had been over weight most of my life ,they supported and actually came up with the decision first:blush:. i think that helped getting me approved:thumbup:, i just regret i didn't act upon it 3yrs ago when they first suggested to me:bored:
  16. becareful with that because i gained 4lbs trying to do that, but i don't regret it because it was fun and the food was good as hell..lol and i also looked at it as the last time you'll be able to have those foods again, it even felt like a race. but you can still have some of them it will just be the amount you will be able to have,i know it's easier said than done but don't freak out ! unless you love steak..lol you are going to be amazed at how much or how less of food it is going to take to make you full,i was shocked and did'nt want to believe it! especially after the fills, i think i'm gonna be a fill junkie. i panic when i can get down more food than what i use to because that mental is a devil to fight.

  17. i'm doing good, still learning about the bandster lifestyle. i've had my 1st fill already but the weight lost has seemed to slow up a little bit since being back on solid foods. hopefully after my 2nd fill it will get moving again, but never the less i'm still loving it ! nothing got stuck yet and no p.b yet either so that's good. so have you gotten your pre-op gear ready ? are you or have you gotten in your "Last Supers" ?

  18. and that's coming up right around the corner, hope you're ready ?it's going to fly pass so darn fast that if you don't take a picture of it it'll be gone before you know it. so you're losing before the surgery? well congrads to that and i hope all goes well, keep in touch !

  19. i was banded i think a few days before you on 10-24-08, it is kinda weird but glad it's at least working in your favor. i work out, walk and go to the gym and it's a lb. here and two there. maybe after my 2nd fill it will get better. but for now i'll take the inches, lbs, ounces..lol what ever ! keep in touch and have a blessed day.

    Any October Bandsters!??!?!

Wow it seems like i can relate to MoolyJo, Morph521, Kellypup and a few others with this. at first i was just happy to have made it through Tganksgiving with out gaining anything. but since i've had my 1st fill i really have'nt lost much weight either. I feel more restriction than i did before but also feel like as the days past that i'm able to eat more also.:biggrin:
  23. Thank you for the picture comments, yeah my buddy (and my mom) was there from morning until i came out that afternoon. and i lost 28lbs but that's including the 2weeks pre-op diet also. so it took more like 4 weeks. i'm sure you know all about those darn liquid diets, you'll drop fast. but then it slows down after your fill. well you're looking fabulous yourself, how are things going ?
