    Help!!

let me correct myself on what i said earlier about eating rice. CHECK WITH YOU DR. FIRST !!!! everyone and everybody's Dr. is different . i only brought up rice because that's what TracieDuquette stated she had for dinner and it made her ill. RICE may not be for everyone and maybe it's not for TracieDuquette. :cursing:

  4. that's great, i'm doing good, slow but good! i have not weighed myself in about 2 weeks it's so darn intimadating, i had begun to create muscle which weighs more and had stop losing. so i will see this week how much i've lost

  5. thank you , i've been moving every since the week after surgery(probably too soon) but i need to stay at it everyday. i was so concerned with weights that i started building muscle(mass weighs more) and didn't lose for about 2 weeks. so now i'm just walking, walking, walking and thinking about trying Zumba. have you tried that ?

  6. i'll say! i agree and he could of tried it out on me also, anytime..lol 2 is better than 5 even if they are small.

    Help!!

RestlessMonkey- i was told no rice/pasta but did learn i could have small amounts, but since i love it and it's probably my biggest problem i like to continue to think of it as something i just can't have:closedeyes: i do better with it that way. TracieDuquette - when you said you can't have a fill until 8weeks out from surgery, that means you are in what they call "BANDSTERS HELL" the time period of no restriction and no fill. you should still measure out your food, visit a nutrionist, and eat slower until you get your 1st fill!

  13. hello and welcome to Lap-Band Talk, i love the name. i think if you can self-pay it is worth it in the end and it does prevent and eliminate alot of health issues. the surgery risk are the same as any other surgery but you doing nothing is the biggest risk of them all. please keep up the fight !

  14. not sure so make sure you check with your Dr. first. and everything has to be chewd to apple sauce consistancy in order to go down and not get stuck. you'll do fine!

    Any October Bandsters!??!?!

Ruby- thank you , i'm really trying to stay focused and learn how to make this band work. i never thought that i could work out(weights) too much though:unsure:.those Protein Drinks look good i need to see if my local grocery store carries them:drool:! the Protein Drink that i make only has 23gm of Protein and i only like the vanilla flavor. LoveIslovely - you have been kicking butt lady:thumbup: 75lbs lost already, my what do you do ? and we are not that much off as far as dates:blink::thumbs_up: ,maybe 2 weeks or so.you go girl, keep up the good work you continue to be an inspiration to me and others ! Terri in KY- i'm also a Smashing pumpkin and have always came back to this site to see how all the other October Bandsters are doing. i may be wrong but i think we all just come back here and check in, and share our information. most have tickers to show weight lost or signatures..i forgot my pass word to update mine but is still at or around 28-30lbs lost... so i'm not sure but , Welcome my fellow Smashing Pumpkin:thumbup:

    Discouraged!!!!

wow LoveIsLovely, you are doing amazing. i'm about 2months/2weeks post-op and is still stuck at 28lbs lost. i'm coming up on my 3rd fill in 2weeks but can't seem to shed anymore weight. like yourself i'll lose 5lbs gain back 2 then lose 3lb more, i also think i've busted my butt too much in the gym and was so concerned with flab and trying to do weights until i have turned my fat into muscle(which weigh more) because i haven't lost anything in about 2weeks. but like you said i'm not going to get discouraged and will concentrate on just walking and see what happens after my 3rd fill !

    Help!!

hello Tracie, how long has it been since you had surgery? I'm about 2months and 2weeks post-op and i'm not an expert but i do know that... #1- RICE is a NO, NO it swells in your stomach(small stomach)! #2- it almost sound like you need a fill if you have not had one, seem like your restriction is GONE ! you probably should try to weight your food out,so you will see how much you are eating. also try chewing slower and after 15min you should start to feel full, if not before hand. everyone is different so what may work for me may not work for you, but i hope it helps some what. hang in there, once you learn your band it's amazing!
  18. :scared2:oh my gosh, i'm about 2months,2weeks post-op and have a real problem with needles. i've always had the freezing spray:smile2: with each one of my fills and really can't see myself sitting still with out it! that is not a small needle and the sight of it made me nervous, i'm coming up on my 3rd fill and i don't feel a thing or know it's in place unless he says "sit up and drink". my port is right below my largest incision and although my port site don't hurt, when he press(ultra sound) on my largest incision it's still tender. but other than that it's quick, easy, painless and takes about 5min. bigpapa2- i've never had to lift my legs in the air until the needle was placed:unsure: my gosh!
