  1. And I am not cruel because I am thinking about the baby. What about his life that the mom would snuff out with a vacuum! I am far from cruel thank you very much! You don't like being called cruel for your stand on the issue, yet you don't have any problem calling me cruel for my stand on the issue. How do you know whether the fetus has emotions or not? And what do you mean by saying I am going to ruin a little girls life for a fetus that could grow up to be a rapist? That doesn't make sense. No one knows what anyone will grow up to be. BTW, I don't ONLY think about the fetus. I think about all involved. But the baby is the one who needs a mediator. He is helpless and defenseless against the vacuum!
  2. The bible teaches that these differing opinions between believers and unbelievers on issues are in need of an authority to make the decisions for us. Jesus should be that authority now, but people choose to ignore him and his words to us, but He will be that authority in the future. What one person deems right, others deem wrong, and vice versa. Therefore, when he returns at the end of time, he will set up his Kingdom and every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that he is Lord of all. It will be at that time that all of these issues will be solved. The bible teaches that it will only get worse towards the end. What was once taught to be morally wrong will be accepted as right and what was once taught to be right will be thought of as wrong. Mankind will completely disregard God's words and the Christian believers will be hated for their moral stand. The older I get, the more and more I see this.
  3. You are cruel... You may think it's okay to kill a baby that's life has just begun, but I do not! Normally, I wouldn't call anyone names,(like cruel) but do you see how you sound? Why is it okay for you to call me cruel for what I believe, yet you wouldn't me to feel you are cruel in what you believe?
  4. I'll adress the masturbation thing first. Yes, you are right about the impure thoughts area of masturbation. Maybe if the persons mind could stay on their spouse? I really don't have the answer for this one. Now, about abortion. To me, noones life is any more important than another. Also, I DO have compassion for the person who ends up with an unwanted pregnancy at any age or for any reason. I was pregnant at 19, not married and unsure of the fathers love for me or committment to me. I know what it's like to be in a situation like that. It's just that once the sperm meets the egg, there it is. Nothing you can do to change it. You're pregnant. As for the child who gets pregnant, that is a hard thing. But that child should get counseling and someone should try to tell her that even though she is in a place where she doesn't want to be, there is another living being inside her that is also in a place where he or she doesn't want to be. (Someone else deciding his or her fate in life). Sometimes life throws hard curveballs, and we have to deal with them. We don't want to, and we wish it would go away, but things happen. We just can't destroy life because we are inconvenienced or hit hard with an unwanted pregnancy or because we don't want to go through 9 months and labor, etc. Who would? But we do what we have to do, because it's the right thing.
  5. I believe that all parties involved in prostitution should be held accountable. It should be illegal for anyone to purchase sex from a prostitute.
  6. And.... Just because you have the belief that a fertilized egg is not a whole person doesn't mean that you are correct. You are sentencing baby human beings to death based on your beliefs and you are completely dismissing that they have a right to life. You have no right to do that. (I only mirrored your exact words to me in reverse) What's a better scene? Passing judgement and sentencing women (what I'm doing according to you) or sentencing baby human beings to death? (what you would be doing according to me) If I'm correct, (that the fetus is a human being from conception), you would be advocating killing human beings. If your correct,(that a fetus isn't a human being from conception), I would be advocating putting a mother through a pregnancy for nothing. Which is better? Come on. really!
  7. About how it affects her life..... Sometimes life doesn't go the way we hope. Everything, the sins we commit, the sins others commit, even the good things people do, effects others. Nothing can be done about that. When the woman finds herself with an unwanted pregnancy, she will be affected. That's the way it goes. But there is another life to consider, so she's responsible to make sure that life lives. After it is born, if she chooses to give it up or keep it, that's her choice. About masturbation.... I know that God would be opposed to a man giving another man pleasure by touching his penis, but I'm not sure about giving himself pleasure by touching his own. After all, we touch other parts of our own bodies for pleasure. We scratch itches, rub our arms or shoulders to massage them, etc. I can't really comment on that issue, because like I said, the bible isn't clear on that one.
  8. You obviously can't regulate ALL sins. ( Or we would have everything we do unlawful), but the hope is to try to curb sin. If we could have porn illegal, that would be great! Adultry would be too difficult to fight in court and take up alot of time and money for the legal system. Concerning masturbation, the bible isn't clear about if it is a sin or not. The pregnant woman's life is affected, but some things can't be avoided. If the pregnant mother's life is affected, it is for no more than 9 months, and it would save a life, so it is deemed necessary.

    Is God real?

That's 4 nos. How can you be so sure?
  10. When issues affect the lives of others, then people have a right to intervene. The only issues that I would like to keep from becoming laws are those that are considered sinful. (abortion, gay marriage, legalizing prostitution, etc.)
  11. I wouldn't dream of forcing my opinions to be yours. Who said I was? You can have your own opinion and so can everyone in the world. BTW, Your opinion shouldn't make it a law either. It shouldn't be a law that women can kill babies just because they grow inside them. We can't kill babies that crawl on the floor, and they are developing too.
  12. We should be free to make our own choices and mistakes. And along with them should come the consequences. If you abort (kill) another persons life, the consequence should be the same as a murder charge IMO. I should be allowed to stop people from killing another person, but in this country we are not allowed to do that. This is wrong IMO. Every life should be protected. I understand that this is a debate that neither side will back down from, because it all boils down to if the baby inside the mom is actually a 'living human being' or not. If it is, then noone should be allowed to kill it no matter where it resides, if it isn't, than abort away. I believe it is a living being, and you?
  13. I knew you would use that to further the abortion issue, but it doesn't wash. People do have to choose from right and wrong, but they shouldn't be given that choice when it comes to murder and other serious crimes. Should we give people the choice to commit robbery or not? Let's not have any laws at all, and let people choose whether they feel something is right or something is wrong. To each his own. Doesn't make sense, right?

    Is God real?

You are free to choose to believe what it says or not, just as I am. I believe that the bible is the only inspired written word of God. I am a Christian, meaning a believer in Christ. I do not like organized religion that sets up man made rules, doctrines, and creeds, or sets up rulers to govern the affairs of men. I believe that God can have a place in every persons life without religion. My christianity is NOT a religion ordained of men, but a relationship that I have with God who created me. I am not in need of a synagoge, saints, church, wall, alter, candle, inscense, building, hall, priest or pope. All I need is the bible, God's written words (instructional guidance) to me. I talk to God as if he were another person in the room. Jesus, his Son, is my mediator. He speaks to the Father for me on my behalf. I believe in Him. Religions are the problem in the world.
  15. We are all free to make our own decisions and choices. In fact, this is what God wants us to be able to do. Without freedom of choice, we would all be like robots or puppets and living in a perfect world.
  16. I like to see it like this.... God is the Judge in the court room. Mankind is the wrongdoer. Jesus is the mediator between man and the Judge. The sentence was handed down. "Those who sin shall surely die and be separated from God forever" The mediator steps in and asks the Judge if he can take your punishment for you. The Judge agrees. The mediator dies in your place. Mankind is set free. Justice has been served. This is what Jesus did for me and you.
  17. Actually, yes. All are sinners and are deserving of eternal life without God. But in his mercy, he will allow those who repent and ask his son, Jesus, to save them to enter in. It's the only way. Justice needs to be served. A man that sins will be punished. And since all man sins, all will need to be punished. Jesus was God come to earth in the flesh like a man, yet he was without sin, because he was also God. Therefore, since he was sinless, he was the only one who could take our punishment for us. Which he did when he gave his life for us on the cross. Now those who ask him to allow the punishment he went through to benefit them will also be allowed to enter into Heaven. It's that simple. It's a matter of faith.
  18. What I'm saying is that anyone, no matter what they've done, can ask God for forgiveness, and him knowing their heart, will forgive them. He said that anyone who asks him to save them, he will save. But remember, if Jesus is really living within you after you have repented, you will no longer desire to do those wrong things you did before, and if you fail and repeat them, it says in the scripture that he will forgive you as many times as you ask him to. (Matthew 18:21,22) God knows your mind. If you rape someone and you understand that all you need to do is ask God to forgive you and he will, yet in the back of your mind you have every intention of doing it again, you are not fooling him. He knows the truly repentant and sorrowful heart of any man. Also, we can't put Jesus in our hearts. The Holy Spirit will come and dwell in you if you ask him to be your Savior. This is why the scripture says that our bodies are God's temple. (or dwelling place)
  19. You are very right. There are many good hearted people in the world that don't have a relationship with God, and there are many who also have a relationship with God who are not good all the time. But I was refering to what really counts for everything in the end. In order to have eternal salvation, one must have Jesus in their hearts. Whether we are good or bad makes no difference where that is concerned.

    Is God real?

I just wanted to say that all children go to Heaven for it states this in the bible. When they reach an age of accountability, which I believe is around 12 years old; then they become accountable for their choice. I say 12, because Jesus was 12 when he entered the synagoge and began to teach and he sets the example, children also go thru puberty around this time and thus become adults theoretically, etc. But I suppose only God knows when a child is at the age of being able to make that kind of decision. I think you have a sound head on your shoulders. Honest, upfront, and not wanting to be hypocritical are very good qualities to have. In the bible, it says that 'now' is the time for salvation. That means that noone knows what tomorrow holds, so it is best to form that relationship with the Savior while you can. God does know every mans heart, as you say. It is nice to talk to you. God bless. Patty

    Is God real?

This is true. The 2 thiefs on the crosses next to Jesus never lived with God in their lives, but on the day of their death, one of them acknowledged Jesus as God and he was allowed to enter into Heaven that day. You, too, can live without God in your life and ask for forgiveness before entering Heaven, but what if you get hit by a bus tomorrow and never get the chance to ask him? ..... May I ask why you would want to live with God in eternity, but not now, here on Earth?

    Is God real?

I believe your friend gave a vague answer to your question. I would answer it this way.... When mankind chose to sin, by doing as they chose to do, instead of what God had planned for them, death entered the world for them. All consequences for wrong doing stinks, but are required for mankind to learn from. just as a parent disciplines his children, for their sake, God disciplines us as well. God allows life to 'happen'. Examples: A car drives too fast and accidentally hits a child, cells in a body form cancer, no rain brings no crop which in turn brings famine, etc. Life happens. God intervenes in life when people pray to him and ask him to. Sometimes he answers our prayers in the way we think would be best, and sometimes he says no to us. Either way, because he knows what is best in all situations, he answers ALL prayers according to his will. God gives mankind the right to choice. All choices bring consequences.(good or bad) If he took choice away from us, we would all be as puppets or robots, not being able to 'choose' wether we will love him or reject him. He doesn't want anyone to come to him who didn't make that decision themselves. But to take choice away, would make this a perfect world. So, in order to allow mankind the freedom to 'choose' God (good) over Satan (evil), he had to allow consequences for our actions and decisions in life.

    Is God real?

Noone can enter Heaven because ALL sin, and the penalty for sinning is death. (Before the first man sinned, man was able to live eternally) So, because ALL have sinned, ALL can not enter Heaven (murders and good people alike). Therefore, God needed to make a way, for anyone who chooses to live eternally in Heaven with Him after they die, to be able to enter in. He sent His Son, who was sinless, to take our punishment for our sins for us. Now we don't need to be punished anymore for our sins, because Jesus took it for us. That satisfied justice. Anyone, good or bad, who trusts in Him and asks him to include them in this free gift of salvation, can enter into Heaven now after they die. Religion makes it soooo complicated. Eternal life is a free gift. There for the asking. If you believe that there is a God who created all of this, then all you need to do is ask Jesus to forgive you for sinning and ask to be taken into heaven to live after you die. He said that anyone who asks, receives. He will not force anyone to believe in Him.

    Is God real?

William, I believe everyone feels the same as you do when it comes to wanting to live happily, and not looking forward to rushing into the afterlife, but have you ever considered that there just might be an afterlife and what our Creator desires from us to get there from here? You said, "As long as I am happy, that's all that counts." But is it really? Oh, it's great to be happy, and God does want us to have happiness, but what about peace? We can have peace in life no matter if we are happy or at those sad times, if we know that God is in control, and we understand what his plan is in the end. About religion... I don't like religion and I believe God dislikes it even more. Religion is man made doctrines and rules and organizations. God doesn't want us to have religion, he wants us to have a relationship. A relationship with Him. It is true that the world has been here for millions of years, and if you read the bible, it does not say otherwise. It just states that in the beginning (whenever that was) God created the Heavens and the Earth. I have read the bible all the way through many times, and science does not contradict it at all. Please consider reading it. God has much to say to us in there. Patty
