This post I gave explains why christians say they "know" that God exists. They have had a spiritual experience with God that others have not had the opportunity in life to experience due to their unbelief. It has everything to do with Faith. Hebrews 11:1 says that faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

God is the one who gives us these words. So, when you don't like them, you are in essense blaming God for them. When a sibling says to his brother: "Daddy said not to ever tell a lie. He told me this and you need to know it, too. He wanted me to tell you also." The brother may say,"Bull. Daddy never said that. You're a jerk!" (because he feels that lying is okay) or he may go to his daddy and find out if that's what he really said. I suggest you go to our Father and ask him to reveal to you whether it is right or wrong to allow abortions. You don't have to take my word on the issue. Find out for yourself.

How is my not giving away a kidney going to effect someone who needs one? For every ONE person that needs one, there are billions who could give one. For every baby that needs to survive the 9 months of pregnancy, there is but ONE who could make it happen. The mother. How ridiculous!

If there is no author to the guidebook that gives us the moral code of standard, then who decides what is right and wrong? God laid down the original laws for all mankind to abide by and man has passed these standards down through the generations. If God had not said "thou shalt not steal" who would determine that it isn't okay? good morals are a good thing for your children, but it's also good to know who set the good morals standard. I propose there is a way to know what God considers the latest point in development at which we must consider a fetus to be a living human. Even before God gave Moses the law, when He gave Noah and his family all the animals for food (in addition to the plants), He told them, "Only you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood" (Genesis 9:4). At the same time, God gave the law and penalty for murder (described as the shedding of "man's blood"). Therefore, God considers blood to be the basis for life and the shedding of human blood, which results in death, to be murder. Science tells us that the heart of the human fetus begins to form 18 days after conception. There is a measurable heart beat 21-24 days after conception.Since blood is flowing at this point, it is likely that blood formation begins well before day 21 (I could find no reference for the date at which blood formation begins). Therefore, this represents the latest date at which we must consider the fetus to be human (according to biblical standards), which is only 7-10 days after a women would expect to begin her menses. Most women have cycles that can vary by this amount, and therefore do not discover they are pregnant until after this point. For all practical purposes, from a biblical perspective, abortion at any point must be considered murder by Bible-believing Christian.

Just because you are taught what is right doesn't mean that you will do the right thing. All parents will be responsible to God for what they teach and don't teach their children. The important thing is that as a parent, you DO teach them what God has to say about things. After that, it is up to each individual to make the choice on whether to follow what they are taught or not. So in your mind, you feel that since christian kids grow up and don't always do what their taught, why bother?

What you are doing and saying here actually fulfills prophecy in the bible. It teaches that the closer that Jesus' return gets, the people will not want to hear what the bible says about sin and will BLAME the christians for the ills in the world and eventually desire to rid the nations of those who profess to be christians. "If only there weren't those extreme christians who desire to eliminate all of the 'goodness'(sinfulness)in the world, we would all get along just fine." By your 'goodness', I speak of abortions which doesn't kill babies, but in fact gives women a 'right' to their own bodies, gay marriages because it's not a sin to have sex with the same sex, their just people in love, and prostitution as a legal profession because anyone should be able to 'choose' what they want to do.(sarcasm added).They will say that we "HATE", instead of understanding that GOD HATES abortion, homosexual acts, prostitution, etc.(sin) Christians will be 'blamed' for all the problems in the world instead of the REAL problem in the world, which is the sinful acts of the people which bring about the consequences for those acts. The man who murdered Tiller was mentally ill, for people who kill others are sick and demented. The rest of the christian people are not him! So, every time there is a crime committed, we should blame the organization to which the criminal belongs to?

I think that if others knew that there was a spiritual life that they could experience instead of just their physical life, they may desire to seek after it. I always pray every day for all of the people I have gotten to know on LBT as well as those who read the forums and don't ever post. Some here don't like me very much, and I believe it is because I speak truthfully from Gods word, and because sometimes I'm not very subtle. I am glad for you that you are a christian; yet, not so glad that you wouldn't take the time to read what your God tells you about life in the womb from the bible. I am, of course, assuming that you haven't read the bible, because anyone that has read it in its entirety would know that God would not approve of ending a life that he allowed to begin.

You sound more like an agnostic than an atheist. Agnostics say,"I don't know." All that many Christians have to give is their own testimony. As a christian, I know what I was before I decided to believe in Jesus and trust him for my salvation, and I know what I am now that I have turned from that way of life. I am a different person. I guess what it takes is an act of faith. Once you decide to make God real in your life, He then becomes real in your life. I can't explain it very well, but I'll try. Every person is born physically. At some point in their life, they ponder life. Is there a creator? Is there an after life? Why am I here? They then make a choice. To believe that there is a God or to reject it. Those who choose to believe pray to this God that created them and either confess to him that they believe in Him or simply by the fact that they are talking to him, God sees that they believe. They are then born again. This time spiritually. There is a change that comes upon the believer. His eyes are opened and he now understands spiritual things. God comes to dwell in his physical body, which God calls his temple. The believer then begins to hunger and thirst after righteousness and desires to learn all that he can about this God who created them. They have a connection with all others who believe in God as well, for now they get it. That's why some christians call other christians their brothers or sisters in Christ. Now they see, they understand that there is more to this life. That is why christians are called born againers. There really is 2 births for every person, but until you accept Jesus as your Savior, you will never experience the 2nd spiritual birth. Hope that helps.

You are correct. God doesn't need anyone to speak for him. Not priests, popes, ministers, nuns, angels, noone. He gave mankind his words in His Holy scriptures, which we call the bible. He speaks directly to mankind through this book. It is easy to understand and read. The problem seems to be that people don't want to take the time to read it for themselves, and instead choose to trust others to bring them the news that's in it. (They even believe the made up stuff that others choose to add to it to benefit their own agendas)

In the paper this morning there was a man who got caught in the act with a prostitute in the back of his car. HE got arrested, not her. I live in CT. It's against the law here to pay for sex with a prostitute.

The doctor who was murdered because he performed abortions was a sad story. And the vast majority of prolifers do not advocate violence. 2 wrongs don't make anything right. The murderer needs the death penalty. He had no right to murder anyone, and he should suffer the consequences of his actions. It is because of people like him, that all christians will be hated for their stand on sinful issues in the end times. I see it as one step closer to Jesus' return.
