    America's decline of morality

It is not for me to prove . You need to disprove it. I don't believe you can. God says that the only 'proof' he will give you is his resurrection. He spent 3 days in hell and preached to all those who were there after he was killed on the cross and then he took those that were on the side of hell called paradise into Heaven with him when he ascended. (Paradise was a holding place for those who believed in the soon to come Messiah (Jesus)) He arose from the dead. There were many, many witnesses to this fact. They recorded it in books and letters and they were compiled together in the gospels of Christ. If we can believe the writings of past historians, we can believe the writings of the new testament eyewitnesses of Jesus. Faith is just that. Faith. The bible is a book compiled of 44 different books or letters that were written over many periods of time and in many different places and by many different people, yet when compiled all together make perfect uncontradictory sense. You can not understand the book of Isaiah without the book of Hebrews, etc. The book is truly a miracle of God, and unless you venture to read it, you will never see God's hand in it. I would rather be blind to all the world has to offer me than to be blind to the reality of God. This life is but a breath compared to eternity which is an infinity long.

bjean: I cannot believe that a person who is a good person, one who strives to do good deeds throughout their life, but who has never been saved or Baptized, will go to hell.

    America's decline of morality

Besides, we cannot take it literally - men wrote it (whether divinely inspired or not) and men have re-written it according to their own beliefs and prejudices throughout the ages. Those men were not God. They were not infallible.

    America's decline of morality

If you have been saved, then we are sisters in Christ. I'm happy to hear that. I believe that many who have disagreed with some of the things that I have put forth about faith have either not read the scriptures, or they have been taught differently by mere human beings who are capable of erring in their teachings rather than by the Word of God alone. The bible is the only infallible word of God. You should never add anything to it or take anything away from it. (meaning your own rules and doctrines and laws) It's all we need to govern ourselves properly and in God's way. If mankind would live by it there would be such peace and harmony in the earth today instead of chaos and madness and controversy. I pray before I get on the LBT and post anything. Because I believe that the bible is God's guidebook on living for us and his plan for the world, I do not want to say anything that is contrary to God's word. I believe that everything that I have ever posted is biblically correct. I can back up anything that I may say from the bible. In other words, what I post is not my opinions or thoughts, they are what God has to say on issues.

    America's decline of morality

What a joke Beth is. She puts me on ignore, cause she can't handle the way I say things, yet she 'feels' the need to come on a thread that I started so that I could speak to people who would like to talk to me. Either she should talk back to me herself or ignore me and this thread and get lost. Why does she come to where I am if she wants to ignore me? Go figure. Not only that, but she feels the extreme 'need' to point out on every post she places on here that she has me on ignore. wow!

With the band, it is a slow process. At first I took off alot of wt. then it slowed down to only 10 lbs. lost in 4 months and now that I am at the proper restriction, I have steady weekly wt. loss. Don't get frustrated or give up. It will work for you, too.

Aha. That makes sense. They draw it all out before adding more to it. I knew this, but didn't make the connection. Oh dear. Well, I'm sorry to hear of your dilemma. Too bad there isn't any way to correct this without another surgery. I hope all goes well for you. My prayers are with you. God bless. Patty

    Divorce after the Lap Band

Why does it have to lead to divorce? Reassure your partner that you love him and need him and shower on the " you're the only one for me talk". Some people just need a little support, love reassurance, and hugs. Or, it may be this... My sisterinlaw left my brother after gastric bypass surgery. She weighed 325 for just about the whole 25 years she was married to him. She began to gain alot of confidence in herself as the weight poured off and when she got down to 185, she filed for divorce. Sometimes when women are heavy, they are insecure and may not be happy in their marriage, but stay because they feel they can't get anyone else looking like they do and they settle for someone they don't really love as they should. Funny though how my brother was good enough for her at 325, but not at 185. She just used him so she wouldn't be lonely, and it wasn't until she weighed less that she actually realized it. So, maybe weight loss generates feelings of self worth that give people the courage to venture out and see if they can get someone better. I personally don't condone divorce. I believe that it should never be an option except for marital unfaithfulness or a separation if there is abuse. So, if the marriage can be saved with a little love and reassurance, you should try to.

    America's decline of morality

That's true. There is wisdom in that. I would like to add that Christians have purely sincere motives when they speak to other people about their faith in Jesus. They don't set out to offend anyone with their beliefs. They simply desire to share with others what they know to be the truth about God and his plan for the world. It is because they love people so much. They love them enough to speak the positive along with the negative if that's what it takes. My motives are to let people know that God hates our sinfulness but loves us. He provided a way for us. So many christians want to share all the good things spoken of in the gospels with others, but don't want to share the things they believe the unbelievers don't want to hear. This does the unbeliever an injustice. All of the word of God is true. Not just the things that you want to be. Many can accept that God loves us and God cares for us, but can't accept that he hates it when we do thus and so. Please feel free to share your faith and your background. I would like to hear about it.

    America's decline of morality

Ask any foreigner what America's religion is. They will tell you it is "christian." You may not want to believe it, because you live in America and are not a christian. But, it is. Although we do not discriminate here. ANY religion or faith in anything is acceptable to be practiced in America. No one will tell you that you can't worship any god you want, or no god at all, just like no one will tell you that you must be a christian.

Maybe that's better than going back to the doctors every month for 8 months to get where you are. Some doctors fiddle with 1/2 to 1 cc. at a time. I think it's so you get those dr. visits into them and , of course, they make more money that way. I had 4cc put in on my first visit, then 2 cc on my next and 1 cc on the next and lastly, another 1 cc which I believe put me at my sweet spot, cause now I am losing again after 4 months of only taking off 10 lbs. in that period of time. I am at 8cc in a 10 cc band.

    America's decline of morality

See my comments above in bold. People murder people all the time and most every time it has nothing at all to do with religion. Your insistance that us 'religious' people who are strong in our faiths are 'crazy, intollerant, bigots and haters' is getting old. It's just as insane for me to say, "all the atheists out there are deranged." Just a short while ago, some guy killed a bunch of people in a McDonald's near here. He was an athiest, and admitted he had no belief in God. So, am I to believe that all the athiests out there are set on bringing a rifle wherever they go, simply because he did? Get over it. Your stand on christians and their motives hold no water. One nut doesn't make a whole group corrupt. It just gives liberals like you the opportunity to lay the blame for every nuts actions on ALL christians and gives you just another reason to get rid of us. Guess what? We're not going anywhere. America has 92% of its occupants as believers in God. They may not all be as vocal as I am about what they believe, but it's in their hearts.

    Is God real?

I don't like to compare presidents. I would like to base what I think about a president on what he has done, not what others have done before him. The past presidents have made their share of mistakes, no doubt about it. If we take Obama on his own stand, I feel that he has gone on an outrageous spending spree, and when I say spree, I mean it. Bush may have spent more than he should have, but that's no reason to continue doing the same. What happened to 'change'? He has spent more money in his short, few, first months than ALL, did I say ALL?, the past presidents put together. He has put our grandchildren and their children into tremendous debt that they will never be able to get out of, and he plans to spend more. This plan for national health care is going to cost trillions. Who's going to pay for that? It is never God's plan for anyone to spend more than you earn. You asked about what stand I was talking about with abortion. Maybe you didn't know, but Obama supports abortions and he supports late term partial birth abortions and federal funding for them. I know God would not approve of the okaying of baby murders. As for his campaign lies, I found a site that states them . Check it out. bye.Partial List Of Obama Campaign Lies
