why can't we go across state lines to purchase insurance? That would increase competition. Soooo many other ideas besides a public option, but Obama doesn't want to go those routes. What gives? Sounds like something fishy there. TV ads soliciting plantiffs for medical malpractice suits skyrocketed 1,400% from 2004-2008 while spending on those ads soared 1300% in inflation-adjusted dollars, according to research carried out by the Campaign Media Analysis group for the institute for legal reform. The ads' successes have made the trial bar even more protective of its lucrative turf, but Democratic Politicians also have benefited because in the last election cycle, more than 99% of trial lawyers' political contributions went to Democrats, according to a recent analysis of National Law Journal data. That explains why health care "reforms" moving through Congress are devoid of long, overdue tort reform. Is it acceptable for the lawyers to make obscene amounts of money off health care, but not the insurance or drug companies? Or is it the reality that our President (a Lawyer himself) and Congress (comprised of mostly attorneys) are protecting their own? Or perhaps trial lawyers are major contributors to Democratic coffers? And you people trust the government.(rolling my eyes again)

kartman, it is certainly your decision, and yours alone, to make. We all must decide for ourselves. But let me ask you something. What if the God some of us speak about is truly real? The only way for you to know for sure is to test him yourself, on your own. What will it hurt? I did this when I first came to believe because I was skeptical, too. (Very) I spoke into the air: "God, if you are there and can hear me, then show yourself to me. If you created me like others in this world say that you did, then I certainly do want to know you. I have great skepticism and no faith in your reality. Some say there is a heaven and a hell, and describe it. I would like to go to heaven, and not hell if it's a real place for us to spend our eternity. I'm putting all of this in your hands if you're real, and I will need you to do the work in me to show me the truth or not. Thanks." Of course, if God is not real, then you spoke to noone and it was a waste of time, but if He is then you spoke to Him. God answers all prayers to him. And especially from those who are unsure of the truth of it all. If you are not moved by the Holy Spirit to have a changed heart and a renewed belief in Him over some time in your life, through a sincere prayer like that, then you can conclude that God is not real. But trust me, He is real and will respond to a request such as that by anyone who is truly seeking to know the truth. It won't hurt anyone to ask God to show them if he's real or not. He will do the rest.

Not just regulations for ins. Companies, but trial lawyers as well. Tort reform. (We all know this wont happen, though. Obama owes the lawyers his favors for their support in getting him where he is today. His back will never turn on them. He was raised with the "one hand washes the other" mentality. If he dissed his promise to take care of the lawyers like they took care of him, it would be like having the mafia after you. You just don't do that in the game of politics.)

All of the poor people in my State that don't have medical insurance can already go to their local social services office and apply for medical insurance. It's free to them. Those who make too much money and can't get on it, yet not enough money to purchase it, are the ones with the problem. Raise the standard for income eligibility for those who are not eligible, and reduce their taxes. With the money they save they could purchase medical insurance for themselves, or be eligible to get on it. (they wouldn't though, because most of the 47 million without insurance (not including illegals) right now can afford to purchase it, but choose to spend their surplus of income elsewhere, and that's their business to do so) It would cost the government FAR less money to do that than to restructure the WHOLE way we are doing it now. 85% of Americans are happy with their insurance right now. Why mess with that high percentage? Ever notice how the government messes with the things that the people feel are just fine and doesn't mess with the things that are failing?

I believe that you are the one who is in denial and chose to pass over my link which proves liberals can be just as hateful.

Are you asking if people would still be able to believe in a supreme being if they found out the bible wasn't about a supreme being? I guess I didn't fully understand your question before I answered it? Sorry. I was answering what I thought you asked.... "Can people still believe in God without the bible?"

Yes. Even without the bible mankind is without excuse, for they can look around at his extraordinary creation and KNOW that their was a maker of all of this.

It was not my point by posting to 'ban' cigarettes or anything else. It's to point out that Dems want to inject changes into a complete overhaul of the health care system that will inevitably destroy us financially at the worst possible time while our economy is in the dumps! You are insighting 18,000 people who die from lack of insurance a year, and I am telling you that your priorities are screwed up. 453,000 a year die from cigarettes every year and noone is up in arms about it like they are the 18,000 who die from lack of insurance. Really!

There are already enough christians in the world who are speaking of the wonderful, merciful love of God. There are not many who dare to tell the truth about his judgement on mankind. Noone likes to talk about that. It brings Satan much happiness, for the less said about it the better, as far as he's concerned.

Everyone here knows my credibility. If it suffers slightly to make my point about some democratic hypocrisy going on, I'm willing to let it. Especially when the credibility and moral standing of some fellow conservatives are at stake. Calling them "HATERS" as if they are bigots and criminals deserving of being reprimanded in some way for their opposition is not acceptable to me.
-
The fact is that conservatives respect the right for others to voice their opinions and to have free speech in this country and democrats do not. That is why when the Democrats did the same thing in Bush's day, no one talked about having them arrested for their "Hate" (your words, not mine). But let the republicans express their exercise of free speech, and it is now a 'HATE' CRIME!!! For shame! The media is heavily left winged (except for FOX, the #1 watched news media in the nation)They picked up on the things they could criticize about republicans and decided to give it plenty of air time. Whereas in Bushes day when the democrats were doing the EXACT same thing, they ignored it.

Seriously, bjean? Seriously? Did you SEE the democratic BUSH protestors? HATING and saying they wanted to KILL him. Such HATE and MURDER that's in their hearts!:tongue2: And how could anyone here not know your views. Hypocritical democrats! I believe I've made my point.

Death Threats Against Bush at Protests Ignored for Years Make sure you scroll down this page a bit to view the protestors. But before you do, please take a moment to read his every word, for they are in complete alignment to how I feel on this issue.

I could post hundreds of BUSH HATERS who protested, but why? Would it matter if I proved to you that Democrats also showed HATE and disdain for their then president? I don't think so. The point I am making is STOP being hypocritical! When your time was here, you were a HATER also. Jesus said,"Before you can point out the sliver in someone elses eye, you need to remove the plank from your own."
