    Health Care

Oh yeah, one more thing. I'm not a racist, a bigot or a hater. (rolling my eyes) I also feel that it's time to stop telling those that oppose his policies that "Obama 'inherited' this mess. These are HIS messes now.

    Health Care

I am 100% oppposed to any health care plan of the governments doing. How others could be for something that noone can read or understand fully is a question only they can answer. Why 2000 pages? Why all the confusing amendments to it? If you need to change something, erase it or take that part out and fix it accordingly, don't refer to page 1,854 amending page 886. What moran put it together? Too many unanswered questions. I don't trust the government when they say they will not pay for abortions with my tax dollars. Believe me, they will find a way to do it. What people don't understand is that when they say that a public option will bring fair competition to insurance companies, they mean that eventually they will drive other insurance companies out of business. Think about it. If the gov. policy is not out to make a profit, they can compete with the Health ins. industry for only so long until they must fold their businesses. For who will be able to survive a market where the government has the lowest prices for insurance. In time, all will turn to the government plan to save money. They will then be the only option. Obama knows it will take time to drive all the ins. companies out of business, but they are willing to wait for their socialized health care plan. It makes me sick! Even though the House passed the plan, I don't believe the Senate will. I am praying that it doesn't, but sometimes God allows the people to suffer the consequences for what they desire. Has the government EVER run a program that didn't go bankrupt or fail miserably? No! What makes anyone think they can run health care? Talk about taking away our freedoms!! I feel the most sorrow for the elderly. The last elections in Virginia and New Jersey showed me that the American people are upset with the new "change" that's taking place in Washington DC. I personally don't like any of it. Spend! Spend! Spend! and Spend some more!!!!! Cap and Tax, cash for clunkers, home buyers credits, health care, pork, stimulus payouts that don't stimulate squat!!!! Why don't they just tell everyone to put ALL their funds in a comunity pot and assure them all that they will distribute them evenly. Sounds like something they tried once in Jamestown when the settlers arrived here. They soon realized that God had it right when he said, "Those who will not work shall not eat."
  3. You posted on this forum after it was silent for over a year. But it is good to get back on the topic. I am a conservative. I will vote for whoever will do the "right" thing morally. I believe if God could vote in this forums poll, he would be a "right winger". There is a book by that title : By Don Boys. Ph.D. "Is God a Right-winger?". It's a great read and an eye opener as to how the precepts in the bible teach us that those who are far right are the closest to being in agreement with how God would have us live.

Where is all the CT Lapbanders??

I had my surgery on 9/9/08. I have lost 60 lbs. since then. I started at 281. I feel so much better since losing 60, and I no longer am diabetic. I still keep a close watch on what I eat though. I try to stay away from sweets. I didn't have a problem with them until I got banded. Oh well.

Hi! He's my doctor, too. I was seeing Dr. Yood at first, and he even performed my surgery, but he has since left Orchard Medical. Do you like Dr. Nazdam? I've only seen him one time. He did a floral fill under an xray. It helped me to begin weight loss again after 6 months of staying the same weight. Good luck with your weight loss. When was your surgery? And how have you been doing?
  7. First Lady Now Requires 26 Servants Dr. Paul L. Williams Bio Email ArticleShop CFP Photo Gallery By Dr. Paul L. Williams Monday, August 17, 2009 “In my own life, in my own small way, I have tried to give back to this country that has given me so much,” she said. “See, that’s why I left a job at a big law firm for a career in public service,”— Michelle Obama. We were wrong. Michelle Obama, as we reported on July 7, is not served by twenty-two attendants who stand by to cater to her every whim. She is served by twenty-six attendants, including a hair dresser and make-up artist. The annual cost to taxpayers for such unprecedented attention is approximately $1,750,000 without taking into account the expense of the lavish benefit packages afforded to every attendant. Little did American voters realize the call for “change” would result in the establishment of an Obama oligarchy. The discovery of the additional attendants was made by D’Angelo Gore of factcheck.org and by calls to Katie McCormick Lelyyeld, Michelle Obama’s press secretary. Mr. Gore launched his investigation of the First Lady’s staff in the wake of an article that appeared on thelastcrusade.org and Canada Free Press on July 7. The article, which became a chain letter viewed by millions of Americans, reported that Michelle Obama requires more than twenty attendants - - more than any First Lady in U.S. History. It provided the following list of White House staff members assigned to the First Lady: $172,2000 - Sher, Susan (Chief Of Staff) $140,000 - Frye, Jocelyn C. (Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of Policy And Projects For The First Lady) $113,000 - Rogers, Desiree G. (Special Assistant to the President and White House Social Secretary) $102,000 - Johnston, Camille Y. (Special Assistant to the President and Director of Communications for the First Lady) $102,000 - Winter, Melissa E. (Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Chief Of Staff to the First Lady) $90,000 - Medina, David S. (Deputy Chief Of Staff to the First Lady) $84,000 - Lelyveld, Catherine M. (Director and Press Secretary to the First Lady) $75,000 - Starkey, Frances M. (Director of Scheduling and Advance for the First Lady) $70,000 - Sanders, Trooper (Deputy Director of Policy and Projects for the First Lady) $65,000 - Burnough, Erinn J. (Deputy Director and Deputy Social Secretary) $65,000 - Reinstein, Joseph B. (Deputy Director and Deputy Social Secretary) $62,000 - Goodman, Jennifer R. (Deputy Director of Scheduling and Events Coordinator For The First Lady) $60,000 - Fitts, Alan O. (Deputy Director of Advance and Trip Director for the First Lady) $60,000 - Lewis, Dana M. (Special Assistant and Personal Aide to the First Lady) $52,500 - Mustaphi, Semonti M. (Associate Director and Deputy Press Secretary To The First Lady) $50,000 - Jarvis, Kristen E. (Special Assistant for Scheduling and Traveling Aide To The First Lady) $45,000 - Lechtenberg, Tyler A. (Associate Director of Correspondence For The First Lady) $45,000 - Tubman, Samantha (Deputy Associate Director, Social Office) $40,000 - Boswell, Joseph J. (Executive Assistant to the Chief Of Staff to the First Lady) $36,000 - Armbruster, Sally M. (Staff Assistant to the Social Secretary) $36,000 - Bookey, Natalie (Staff Assistant) $36,000 - Jackson, Deilia A. (Deputy Associate Director of Correspondence for the First Lady) Readers throughout the country expressed outrage that Mrs. Obama would hire an unprecedented number of staffers in the midst of the Great Recession.

    Depo and Lap Band.

Did you know that depo provera is an abortifacient? When the sperm meets the egg, and the human being starts its life, the drug kills it. If you are against abortion, you should not take this form of birth control. (actually, no one should take it, for who knows how many lives they may be destroying if they do.) Please reconsider this choice. Thanks

A recent Amsterdam study found that men in homosexual relationships cheat with an average of eight partners a year. Others have found that the average homosexual has between 100 and 500 sexual partners over his or her lifetime. One study showed that 28 percent have had 1,000 or more sex partners, with another study placing the percentage between 10 and 16 percent. While adultery is certainly a factor in traditional marriages, it is comparatively rare. In fact, studies on matrimony place the male fidelity rate between 75 and 80 percent and that of females between 85 and 90 percent. The reason is simple: Unlike homosexual relationships, emotional and sexual fidelity within matrimony are inexorably linked and always have been by definition. To extend the concept of marriage to a situation wherein fidelity is not the norm would not only cheapen the institution, but it would have disastrous consequences for children. Simply put, a marriage is not a marriage without total exclusivity. Why do these men want "marriage" if their concern is not to be committed to one significant other? IMO, It must be all about the sex.

The CBO estimates that $41 billion dollars or much more could be saved if they would just add some tort reform to their plan. But, NO!!! Those lawyers paid for Obama's campaign and those lawyers are the dems biggest supporters. How crooked!!! This is not chump change. (billions) When you have trial lawyers heavily contributing to democrat campaigns, you can't expect those democrats to actually do something for the good of the country by not giving a hoot where their campaign money comes from and going against those lawyers. It sickens me that Obama knows what the congressional budget office estimates as savings with tort reform, yet refuses to even consider it. It's all about what's good for them in the next election, and NOT about the good of the country and the people! Patients receive only 46% of the money awarded in a malepractice suit, while the attorneys get 56%. Doctors win most of their cases if they go to trial, but they are lengthy, stressful, and distracting and doctors would rather settle out of court than have to take all that time away from their work. This explains why doctors need to order unnecessary tests as a defense in case they are sued. Changes need to be made in this area. Why don't they do it? We all have the answer to that one!

It's not just Roe vs Wade, it's right verses wrong, morality vs immorality, good vs evil, civilization vs anarchy. We seem to be engaged in a cultural war for the hearts and minds of the American people. The radical left considers the conservative bible-believing, born again christians and the church they attend the enemy. And why? Because whether they like it or not, we are the keepers of morality for our society. And society not only has a right, but a responsibility to impose a collective sense of morality. It's not hatred from which we opperate, but conscience. In all good conscience, we cannot approve of the liberals policys. The average liberal supports a womans right to murder her unborn baby. The average liberal supports the sinful acts of men having sex with men and women having sex with woman and even to go so far as to desicrate God's holy ordinance that he set up for a man and a woman, called marriage. The average liberal is okay with stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. (stealing is never okay, BTW) This is exactly what Obama means when he says to 'spread the wealth around'. Thievery is thievery, no matter how you look at it. Liberals don't seem to mind all the spending and indebtedness going on in Washington, despite the fact that God says to be a good steward of your money. I tend to feel that most (not all) liberalist thinking is immoral and contrary to what God deems appropriate. I could go on and on about the liberalist's immoral views on controversial things, but I won't waste your time. You know what I mean. The conservative mind tends to be more moral and bible believing. I will admit that the church needs to acknowledge its part in the moral decline of our Nation and ask God to forgive us for not preventing this tidal wave of unbelief that has engulfed this great land. We stood by and allowed the liberal unbelievers to take God gradually out of America and replace him with the God of 'self'. We are a nation of conflict, and the conflict is over values.

We haven't seen anything yet! Obama's spending will be done in intervals. Just wait. You won't be singing his praises any longer when your pocketbooks get hit, and it's coming. But, you like him. I think it was appalling how he spent money and rallied to get the Olympics in his Home town. Any president would know enough not to favor your own town, for it may make you look like you're only out for you and yours. He shouldn't have done that. Even the 'world' knew what he was up to. For they voted him the first one out. The people are beginning to see him for who he is. SNL has started to poke fun at him. And they loved him at first, and were saddened that they wouldn't have a president to berate. (Yeah, right.) He is taking this country down the path of socialism and that's NOT what the American people want. That's what he meant by "Change". Too bad he was the only one who knew what he was talking about when he campaigned on that one. My husband used to ask me during the campaign, "He always says "change" is coming", but what change?" We never knew. Now we understand. It's a change to socialized government control. He will be out in the next election. Praise God!!!

Don't think for a minute that that's all the spending that was done. (4-6%) President Obama’s welfare spending will reach $888 billion in a single fiscal year--2010--more than the Bush administration spent on war in Iraq from the first “shock and awe” attack in 2003 until Bush left office in January. In a West Virginia speech last year, Obama said, “When Iraq is costing each household about $100 a month, you’re paying a price for this war.” Obama’s spending proposals call for the largest increases in welfare benefits in U.S. history, according to a report by the Heritage foundation. This will lead to a spending total of $10.3 trillion over the next decade on various welfare programs. These include cash payments, food, housing, Medicaid and various social services for low-income Americans and those at 200 percent of the poverty level, or $44,000 for a family of four. Among that total, $7.5 trillion will be federal money and $2.8 trillion will be federally mandated state expenditures. The Heritage study says, “Applying that same standard to means-tested welfare spending reveals that welfare will cost each household $560 per month in 2009 and $638 per month in 2010. By 2014, annual spending on welfare programs will reach $1 trillion for the fiscal year. This is outrageous, and unsustainable!!!

You don't understand those who are opposed to the government getting soooooo big. It's not that we don't want ANY government, we don't want soooo much of it. There needs to be a balance. The government was set up to take care of our national defense, roads, highways, and protection, like police, military, etc. I have said this all along. It's when the government adds to this list at a rate that far exceeds our abilities to fund them where we begin to have a problem. There is no need for breaking the bank 500X over. How irresponsible can they get?! Obama spends money like it's water and he has all of it he could ever need or desire. It's not. The well is dry.

Are you trying to say that without the government, the people of this country would not have been able to provide any of those things listed in your attached post? You live in la la land. The people in theUSA have always been able to fend for themselves, until the government slowly and gradually began to "provide" them with free handouts. But who can resist? They know it is within every man to take what he can get for free rather than to work for it. If they could get every human dependent upon them, then they can have full control. They're almost there. Why do you defend the government as you do? Do you see honesty and justice within their walls? Or is it just the man, Obama, that you like? I ask because any rational person can see that what the government has been doing is killing us financially. It seems that everything that they attempt to do for the 'good' of the people fails. Is America No Longer a Christian Nation? We were discussing the fact that America is a christian nation. Did you even glance at my attachment? BTW, how does the government provide me with the splendor of the Grand Canyon?( Just one of the many stupid government provisions that were listed in your attachment) The last time I went out to see the canyons, I marveled at God's creation.

He said,"WE do not consider ourselves a Christian nation.....etc." Whose WE? He was talking about himself and the rest of us Americans. He's wrong. So what LIE am I spreading or misrepresenting? Did He say it or not?! Go back and listen again. "We do not consider ourselves a Christian Nation" Is America No Longer a Christian Nation? The government of America is secular, but the society of America is christian. The first amendment freedom of religion clause was to bar any federally supported establishment of religion and any federal interference with the free expression of religion. Our society is overwhelmingly christian and has been since the pilgrims wrote the Mayflower Compact which begins, "In the name of God, Amen." The society was here before the government was. When the Constitution was formed, the founders saw the gov. as amounting to a very small part of the nations total government. The rest was comprised of the States, municipalities, and the people, who were to be left free to govern themselves. Today, the situation is reversed. The Gov. has become all powerful. Now it is no longer a federal government, but a national one. It dictates to the states and the people. Our supposed servant is now our master. It's not "We the people" anymore. It's now "We the government." The founders wanted freedom from government, not dependence on it. Governemnt is a Pig that feeds on your liberty, property and privacy, and they knew it from experience. The Constitution was intended to govern the government, not the people. Some people want government to rule everything. They don't understand the value of freedom or its role in America. The first Amendment was for a separation of church and state, but not for a separation of God and state. In Great Britain, if you weren't a member of the established church of England, you couldn't vote, own property, go to college or many other things. But, you still had to pay the taxes to support the church. You would be fined or imprisoned and even executed for unorthadox religious practices. That's why the Pilgrims, who were unorthadox, came to America: for religious freedom. They never intended to divorce all religious expression from public life, let aone supress it by government action. The declaration of independence has 4 references to God in it. "Nature's God", "Creator", "Supreme Judge of the World", and "Divine Providence". The collective meaing of those eferences is this: God, not government, is the source of our freedom, sovereignty, rights, justice, and human dignity. We are one nation under God. Or founders stated repeatedly that for a republic such as ours, only the moral restraints of the bible would keep American liberty from degenerating into tyranny.

Did Obama say Americans do not consider the U.S. a Christian nation? - ObamaFactCheck.com# Obama said we are not a christian Nation at a conference in Turkey. He also said we are not a jewish or a muslim nation. I agree with him on that. But I disagree tht we are not a Christian Nation. We started out as a Christian nation and we set up things here as a Christian Nation with "all men being CREATED equal". He can say that we are not Christian any longer all he wants, and so can you, but it doesn't make it so. The majority of people living in this nation believe in Jesus as their Savior and STILL believe this nation is Christian. We are tolerant of every faith and of course we all allow evryone to practice the faith of their choosing, but we will never deny that we are a Christian Nation and that God brought us here for the freedom to worship Him without oppression or rule over us. The reason we are the best Nation and the most powerful and the most blessed is because God has given us this land and He and He alone has his blessings upon us.

Who says we want to pretend that our faith is the only one there is? Or that we want to stick our heads in the sand? We understand that there are many people of many different religions everywhere. We want others of differing faiths than the one that this nation was founded on to recognize that this Nation was first and foremost "Christian". We want them to know that the Christians here will be very tollerant of their differing faiths, unlike other nations, and accept anyone of any faith to dwell alongside us here.

    Stop Calling it Socialized Medicine!

This taxpayer march on Washington was the largest gathering of fiscal conservatives in DC ever in the history of the the National Capital. This clearly shows that the people don't want the government to continue its spending sprees, or to socialize the nation or to begin a health care insurance plan that they can't financially sustain. Their past records of bankruptcy in programs is enough evidence for me to know that the government can't run anything right without depleting the funds for it. When has there ever been such an uproar from the people in the USA where thousands flew in from every state to protest their disgust? If thousands came from every state, then obviously there were many, many, many more who would have loved to join the protest, but could not afford to fly there or miss time from work. I was one of them. Funny how the liberal stations didn't give this event the time of day, as huge as it was.
