  1. No one paid for the educations of those before them, so why should we start now? The government didn't pay for my dad's education. He worked hard and saved his money. He chose to drive a beat up old car instead of a brand new one and used the money to pay for his education instead. The government wasn't there for him and he succeeded JUST fine. He didn't end up in prison because the government didn't pay for his education. What are you trying to say? That if the government doesn't 'help' people get an education, they wont do it on their own? Get real. I home school my children, and pay for their education out of my own pocket as well as my tax dollars going to pay for the education of everyone elses children in the public schools.
  2. I don't agree with that statement at all. I have owned a gun for 30 years and have NEVER used it. But if someone comes into my house and threatens me or my children in any way, I wont hesitate to. I actually had two men invade my home and threaten to kill my 2 sons. They asked him for money and for a gun or weapons we might have in the house. They told him that if he called the police when they left that he would kill me because he claimed to know where I work. This, of course, was not true. They had a gun, and it was not legal for either of them to carry it. (who woulda thought?) I never got to use the gun I had in the home because they had a gun on us, and mine was locked up somewhere else, and I did not have time to retrieve it before I knew they were upstairs. But the point I'm making is that criminals don't abide by the laws. So if the laws said that guns were forbidded to be owned by society, then the only ones who would have a gun would be the criminals, and the police.
  3. Unless it is the life of someone who has been convicted rightly or WRONGFULLY of a crime. How can we give those people their lives back? How about the ones who are definitely guilty? They admitted it. They have been proven without a doubt. How about the mass murderers? those who make condfessions?

    Conservative VS Liberal

I always err on the side of caution where my money is concerned. If there was only a slight chance that ACORN was abusing federal funds, they were wise to remove the funding, IMO.

The government suspended their funding to them, so that's proof enough for me. Had they been innocent in their dealings, they wouldn't have.
  7. What's 'stupid' here is that people can't see past the mother and her dilemma of having an unwanted pregancy towards the innocent baby in the womb that is alive and hoping for a chance at life. THAT"S STUPID!!! HEARTLESS and CRUEL!!!Not to mention MURDEROUS and SINFUL!!!

I knew that they were an agency that received federal funds. I don't like the idea that they were only interested in getting people to vote if they were registering as democrats. I also don't think that any agency that uses federal funds should be coaching people in ways to 'cheat' the government out of these funds, which is what they were doing.

I see it like this. They should not have tried to tape their phone calls if this is what they were attempting to do. Sometimes, when people know that someone is doing something illegal, they will attempt to get proof of it, and in so doing, do something illegal to get their proof. This is not right. But I've heard of police doing this kind of thing. They know of a criminal, and if they just had such and such proof, they could arrest them. They set up some kind of sting, and catch them, but when in court, they find that this was illegal to do and it can't be used against the crooks in the trial. But, the police just wanted them caught, so they did it. These guys who got arrested for trying to catch the ACORN employees did the same thing. Still wrong, but I can understand why they did it. I wouldn't have gone to those extremes, but I'm not them. ACORN is one of those government agencies that is deceitful and corrupt. They have been proven to abuse the system. (which is made up of some of our tax dollars). Hypocritical? No. They just want what's just and right. Liberals and progressives should aid in the investigation of what happened and why, rather than attempt to defend ACORN or remain silent.

I'm refering to my own post here. I made a mistake when I wrote what I underlined above. Sorry. I don't know why I wrote that. I know that "God will never leave us nor forsake us". I believe he will gently guide us back to repentance if we sin.

My son moved to the Boston area, and I loved that I could look right down on his house and see where he moved to with google earth.

Maybe it was because that particular denomination teaches that once you become saved, you will always be saved. This teaching does not help people to live as they should before God. It allows them to relax where their wrong doings are concerned. The bible teaches that you CAN lose your salvation. I don't believe you can lose it very easily, but I think that if you get to a point in your life when you say "You know, I don't believe any of that anymore like I used to." God gives you what you desire. Also, when we do wrong before God, His Holy Spirit departs from us to only return after we repent.

Why do liberals Hate Sarah Palin?

True. You sometimes see this with TV evangelists who maybe started out with the right heart, but the fame and riches and lifestyle changes that took place from being popular may have gotten to them and their hearts turned against God. Or with people in your community who do the most wonderful things for others, but deep down, the reality is that they are doing it for themselves. Either the recognition they get for their kindness, or it makes 'them' feel good to be nice. Their motive is not for the 'other' person, but for glorifying themselves. Only God can know a persons inner motives. I'm glad that our deeds do not determine our destiny, because if they did, noone would go to Heaven.

For once, I agree with you. This makes my blood boil as well. I would never condone staying in a home where a man abuses a woman, even verbally. This kind of abuse sickens me. I also do not condone divorce for any reason except for marital unfaithfulness. Therefore, my counsel to her would have been to seperate from the abuser until such a time as he has received help for his abuse problem. If that never came, then she could remain seperated.

Why do liberals Hate Sarah Palin?

Do you know how many times I committed the sin of gluttony in my life and afterwards was sincerely sorry for it? (7 X 77) meaning over and over, I can not count. Yet, each time God has forgiven me. (Thankfully, now, after the lapband surgery I no longer sin that sin.) The bible teaches that to recognize the fact that you are a sinner and are in need of a Savior is what's needed. Matthew 18:21,22 21Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?" 22Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times Luke 18:9-14 9To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable: 10"Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11The Pharisee stood up and prayed about[a] himself: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other men—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. 12I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.' 13"But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, 'God, have mercy on me, a sinner.' 14"I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."
  18. God is the one who made the law. If he made the law, then he will not be angry with those who uphold it.
  19. Yes, they will have the blood of those who were murdered on their hands.
  20. There are two different Hebrew words (ratsakh, mut) and two Greek words (phoneuo, apokteino) for “murder / killing”. One means “to put to death,” and the other means “to murder.” The latter one is the one prohibited by the Ten Commandments, not the former. In fact, ratsakh has a broader definition than the English word “murder.” Ratsakh also covers deaths due to carelessness or neglect but is never used when describing the killing during wartime. That is why most modern translations render the sixth commandment “You shall not murder” rather than “You shall not kill.” Murder is the taking of a life unlawfully. When God allows mankind to meet out justice as he deems fit, it is not unlawful to kill.
