When I said Catholic Christian, I meant a christian who attends a Catholic church, because there are Christians who attend many different denominations like Methodist, Baptist, etc. -
You know,LM, I just don't see it. I looked at the cartoon over and over, but I just don't see it. I don't see any racism there, cause it's not. You want to see racism, so you do. I showed it to several people who came in today, and I emailed it to a few friends also. I asked them what they thought it signified. ALL of them, all of them said it symbolized Obama as a president who promotes welfare. They all saw it as I did. NOT ONE saw it as a black and white thing. WOW! I guess you REALLY, REALLY want to believe the right is racist. What can I say. Play that card if it helps you to find a reason for our criticism of Him and his agendas. also, what fake numbers did I post are you talking about?

That would be Al Gore. His motivation is greed. he allows lies to be told to the people about global warming simply to keep his job intact. I don't believe in global warming, and it is a waste of mankinds time and energy to think that they could stop what isn't happening. I don't have anything against people who want to preserve the earth, except when they become extreme in their actions and put their 'cause' ahead of man. I'm all for not polluting and defiling the earth. If everyone would do their share right where they live, the earth would be lookin' good. -
He doesn't have to come out and say it. His agenda makes it clear that that is what he supports. His spending sprees (giveaways), his HC plan, his free tax credits for homebuyers and college, cash for clunkers, and I could go on and on with his free gifts at our expense.

How immature! I could care less if Obama were Purple! He'd be a purple president on a foodstamp! You democrats really "NEED" to have that as a reason for why we are not in favor of Obama's policies. I guess it helps you feel better. If it were true, it would be great for your side. iIt would make all the right look really bad for being upset with a president simply because of his skin color. Oh well. Did you know that Obama is a black and white man? He represents ALL Americans, both the black and the white ones, as far as color is concerned. You need to get over that. You know, the right has always been against the left. Why is it any different now? Is it cause NOW the left has a 'black' man representing them? No. It's because the left has a wacked out way of thinking, and always has.

I'm not. Cartoons often show the truth about situations in a funny way. Obama is the kind of President who promotes welfare, giveaways, handouts and dependency on the government instead of free enterprise, working hard and earning a living for oneself. Sorry if the truth offends. BTW, that post had NOTHING to do with black or white skin color. I can see that you must be a racist because it came to your mind when you saw it, when it clearly depicts Obama as one who promotes government welfare.

I can't remember, cause it was 30 years ago. Did you know that back then, when you got assistance, you HAD to pay it back when you got back on your feet? My husband and I paid it all back. That's the differnce between then and now.

my mom sent us occasionally to catechism when I was a child, cause she was catholic, but we were not taught anything about that faith at our home. When I say occasionally, I can remember going one school year on wednesdays after school for an hour. That's about it. I went to church 3 or 4 times as a child, cause my mom sent us with my older sister to get us out of the house so she could relax. Other than that, I never went to any church. I got married in the catholic church because that's the church my mom claimed as hers. I baptised my first 2 sons there also. (when you are a catholic christian, most of them that I knew, only used the church to do what they needed to do.) -
Where to put Obama's picture George Washington, our nation's first president and leader of the American Revolution! Abe Lincoln, honorable leader pulled our nation through its darkest time! Alexander Hamilton, founding father, first secretary of the treasure and leader of the constitutional convention! Andrew Jackson, "Old Hickory " fought the British in New Orleans ! Ulysses Grant, Union army general, lead the North through the Civil War! Finally, we have someone to put on the food stamp!!!!!!! More people will see it here more than any other place so it is appropriate.

I was not offended, by your calling me a liar :smile2: or making fun of my being born again ,but thank you for apologizing anyway. It's sweet.

Since God created the Heavens and the Earth, I believe He alone is quite capable of handling it without my energy input or Al Gores. God's Earth doesn't need to be "saved" from anything! It's the people who need to be saved. -

In this life, the majority of people born with a deformity will live like that for the rest of their life. It is the sad truth. Even though they have done nothing to deserve it they will suffer. This is not a direct result of their sin or their parents sin, but is part and parcel of living in a sinful world. You see when Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden, God punished them. Part of that punishment was to subject all of Creation to “decay” (Romans chapter 8 verses 18-21). I see that much of the suffering and pain we see in the world is tied up with this. God did it, not because he is vindictive, but because he wants us to be reminded that there is more to life than just what we see around us. we suffer so that we will turn away from our rebellion and turn back to him so that we will not have to suffer the ultimate punishment on the last day. (This is what the apostle Paul is talking about in Acts chapter 17 verses 26-27). This is a difficult thing to grasp and accept - especially if you are the one suffering. But it is not the whole picture. For Jesus has dealt with our suffering by suffering for us on the cross, paying the penalty for our rebellion and opening up the way for us to come back to God, And when Jesus comes back he will give his followers new bodies that will be free of defects forever. That’s why Jesus healed the man born blind in the New Testament. He showed he is the one who has the power to remove suffering, and if not in this life time, in eternity for certain! -

I consider myself right winged. ( What extreme means is anybody's guess.) People like you only "think" we are angry, bigoted, mean and harmful to others. It makes you feel good to put this kind of label upon us. Just how are we mean? How are we biggoted? Because there will always be a small # of intollerant people in every party. I can show you that with democrats as well. So, show me how the 'right' as a whole is biggoted. And you say we are angry. Is anything wrong with getting angry? No. When what you are angry about is justified, there is nothing wrong with it. As for harming others, well, you'll have nuts who harm others in every kind of group. But, as a whole, the right isn't "harming" anyone.:smile2: -

Just thought I'd mention that I never went to Sunday school either. I found God when I was 25 years old. So there goes that "indoctrinated" theory. -

There is only one way to your Cretaor. Someone has to be right. Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life, and no man comes to the Father but through me." You can't read that any differently. He also said He is the ONLY way, so what else are we to do? It is good to be 'rigid' when you have the right answer. -
I would love to continue to talk about this, but not on this thread. I will talk about it on the Do you think God exists thread. One of those.

Have you ever read "Dispensational Truth" by Clarence Larkin? It is a fascinating book written about God's plan and purpose in the ages. In it, I learned much about the Pre-Adamite Earth. I tend to agree with the author and what he talks about. The earth could be millions of years old, but that mankind was created 6000 or so years ago. The first verse in the bible states "In the beginning God creates the Heavens and the Earth. (In the beginning, whenever that was, millions or billions of years ago, no one knows for sure) The second verse says, "And NOW the earth was formless and empty." (meaning NOW (about 6000 years ago), some catastrophy befell the earth to make it formless and empty and NOW, at the time of this stories beginning, when God creates Mankind, Adam and Eve) It continues to say, "and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. This catastrophy that happened brought darkness and water to cover the earth. (probably a flood of some kind, but not to be confused with the flood of Noah's time) but God's Holy Spirit was still there. He believes that the six days work as described in Genesis 1:1-3 is not a description of how God made the original earth, but how He restored it from its "formless and empty" condition to its present state. This would make sense because when you read about Adam and Eve, and after God created them he said, Now go forth an re-plenish the earth. Meaning there were beings on this earth before Adam and Eve's time. I am unsure of how old the earth is. It does not matter anyway. Whether the earth is a billion years old, or a few thousand years old, God is still the maker of it. When I get to Heaven someday, He will fill me in on all the things I want to know about.

The Intelligent Design Theory is not biblical creationism. There is an important distinction between the two positions. Biblical creationists begin with a conclusion that the biblical account of creation is reliable and correct, that life on Earth was designed by an intelligent agent—God. They then look for evidence from the natural realm to support this conclusion. Intelligent Design theorists begin with the natural realm and reach the conclusion that life on Earth was designed by an intelligent agent (whoever that might be). Either way, a creator made this place. The Intelligent Design Theory does not presume to identify the source of intelligence (whether it be God or UFOs or something else), the vast majority of Intelligent Design theorists are theists. They see the appearance of design which pervades the biological world as evidence for the existence of God. There are, however, a few atheists who cannot deny the strong evidence for design, but are not willing to acknowledge a Creator God. They tend to interpret the data as evidence that earth was seeded by some sort of master race of extraterrestrial creatures (aliens). Of course, they do not address the origin of the aliens either, so they are back to the original argument with no credible answer.

Sure, I just happened to be reading a book, by Dennis R. Petersen called 'Unlocking the Mysteries of Creation', to my 2 sons this morning. I homeschool them and it was part of Science reading. It's a greta book.

I wasn't blaming anyone for the way I post. I was explaining WHY I was posting the word 'hate' when refering to people not liking politicians policies or beliefs or agendas. It was because others here describe it as 'hate' when you disagree with their views. Right, Cleo'smom?

Did you know that a news wire report from scientists in 1980 made this surprising statement: "The sun's diameter appears to have been decreasing by about 1/10% per century." Scientists have been watching for over 100 years. Additional studies have shown that the rate is variable, but on average it is more like 400ths of a % per century. Every hour the sun is shrinking about 2 feet. Of course, 2 feet an hour isn't much when you consider the sun is nearly a million miles in diameter. But what are the implications? If the sun is shrinking .04% per century, then it totals .4% per millinium. Now if you believe the sun's age is only 6000 years there's no real problem. In that time, the sun will have shrunk only about 2.4%. Life on earth would go on quite fine. But if you believe the earth and the sun have been around for nearly 5 billion years, as scientists predict, you have a problem. If the sun existed only 250,000 years ago it would have been double its present diameter. At that size with the earth at the present distance from the sun, it would be too hot on earth for life to exist.
