While the concept of seperation of church and state might be implied by the first amendment which states that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof....", it says nothing about the "separation of church and state." And, even if you accept the principle of the separation of church and state being 'implied' by the First Amendment, it's implication is not there to protect Americans from religion, it is there to protect religious Americans from the government.

So, you see, This Nation is a Christian Nation. That is why we celebrate Jesus' birth and not Midsummer eve. BUT, in this country the founders have made it possible for the people who dwell here to worship and praise the God of your choosing. They have given you the freedom to worship Satan himself, or no one at all. In so doing, they have removed governments roll in religion. But they did not intend to remove Christianity from government. They expected high Christian moral standards in our laws and way of life here. You may live in this country and choose to forgo its Christian faith, or embrace it. It's up to you. But don't try to change us into a Nation that does not believe in the God of the bible by imposing immorality through the laws you try to pass on the Christians here. Liberals try to tell us that you can't legislate morality, but that is nonsense. Every law regulates morality, some successfully, some not. At least we should never imply that such immoral, degrading behavior is acceptable, and laws that permit such behavior do just that.

loserbob, I do not feel that this country is a horrible place to live. I agree with you that it is the best place. I give God the credit for that because He made this Nation as a safe haven for those who believed in His Son and wanted to have the freedom to worship Him and not have a government lord over them where religion was concerned. You may call everyone chipping in to pay for your parents elderly care reaping the rewards of our hard work, but I call it robbery. Why should I, or anyone else have to pay for your parents elderly care? I will pay for MY parents elderly care. You pay for yours. It is God's plan for each of us to care for our parents when they can't do it for themselves any more. It's the right thing to do. "But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God." 1 timothy 5 "But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever." 1 Timothy 5:8 This is why the country is in the finacial state that it is in. The government can not expect the people they govern to carry the financial burden for the whole Nation. When they do, everyones burden is increased 100 fold. The government is VERY wasteful with its funds. This is not to be debated. It is truth! People need to start being responsible for themselves and their families, and their own actions, and stop laying the burden at the feet of the rest of the Nation. We can't afford it!

God Had EVERYTHING to do with marriage. It was His design for man and woman that He created. The States, when they began regulating every breath we take, (but this is something you love about government) then decided to make it a legality. BUT, GOD originated it.

2 or 3 examples would not have enlightened you with the scope of exhorbitant wasteful spending this beloved government of yours is doing!

Bill gates money is HIS, and hterefor he can do as he pleases with it.. Mrs. Obama's plane ticket was paid with our money, and therefore, we the people, demand a little restraint on the spending while the rest of us forego our vactions due to the economy. That's what that means.

Jesus had a mission when He came into the world, and it wasn't to find a wife. He knew beforehand that he would be dying for all humanity.

Then compare it to a business. Any business would go under if it were run the way the government runs things and spends they way they do!

The ceremonial laws were abolished when the Messiah came. The other moral laws are to be upheld because Jesus reinforced them in the New Testament. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. " Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." By this verse alone, I can determine that Jesus does not condone the homosexual relationship. He reinforced the OT law that says Homosexuality is an abomination unto the Lord, in the NT.

Her family or friends or the father of the child will have to help her. Fathers pay support for that reason.

Looks like for the sake of caring for their parent they will need to give up that luxury car and have their kids go to the local community college or take out student loans themselves. Like I said, It's a sacrifice, and I know that's a dirty word around here, but why should everyone else have to pay for your parents stay in a nursing home?

NO. I don't 'GOT' it. Don't talk to me like you can tell me what to say and what not to say. I'll say anything I please. And, YES! You do expect the government to solve all the problems of the people. Your stand on all topics concerning politics proves it. These "safety nets" that you say the government provides are more like house boats than nets. They have gone too far in parenting the people. To the point of enabling them to be totally dependent upon them. This has hurt the people, not helped them. As a parent yourself, you should understand how enabling your adult child to be irresponsible in things hurts them in the long run and doesn't help them. I never said anything about your children. I said it about YOU. That's all I said concerning your parenting. You probably fixed all their problems, the same way you want the government to fix all the peoples problems.

We don't need to spend all those trillions of dollars on anything! When there is not enough income coming into my household for extravagant things I WANT, I must not overspend on them. I make due with what I have and do without. The government needs to do the same. If we weren't spending all this money on such crap, we wouldn't be having a problem with the economy. When I stop wasting money in my household budget, the finances get better for us. The government is no different.

Someone has to stand up for what is morally correct and decent in this world. Christians do that. And thank God, too. Otherwise, we'd be living as in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah. Or as in the days of Noah when man was so wicked and was so depraved that God had to destroy them and start over. Looks like we're headed that way again.
