How sad for you. You are soooo blind to God's truths about what is right and wrong that you can't see that you are decieved. MY people, as you call them, are God's children. Those who believe in Him are redeemed. Those who don't shall perish. So, God has given His children the truth.

What you fail to understand about God's word is that when Jesus came, he ended the ceremonial laws of the old testament. Only those laws which were reiterated in the new testament still stand. Homosexuality is one of them, along with many others. It is NOT hypocritical to hate sin and to be against anything that is sinful. It is what God wants us to do. He hates sin himself. He abhors it. It is detestable to Him. He loves the people he created, but he hates the sinful things they do. So do I. And, I will not be ashamed to say it.

All God asks us to do is to do our best to stop sin, oppose it, and stand on what's true and right. He knows that mankind is sinful and wicked. So, even if the law never changes, I can stand before him someday without guilt of trying.

If they die, it will be because they did not obey the laws of the land. I would not be happy if any women died from having an abortion that they tried to give themselves, anymore than I am happy with the millions of babies that die at their hands every day. This is what bugs me, no one cares about the dead babies. It's all about the women who must sacrifice 9 months of their lives to save a human being. I say that if you don't want a baby, get sterilized, or use birth control.

Oh really? Well, if anyone else breaks the law, they go to jail. That's just the way it is. Don't break the law then.

With that mentality, why don't we make drugs legal, then we can keep people safe while they take them. People are going to use drugs dispite the dangers of them, so why not legalize them. Heck, why not make a society where anything goes! We make laws because they are the "right" thing for the people. Some laws should never have been made, while others are good for all. Abortion is one of those laws that protects the right of the woman who gets pregnant to allow her to do something she would NEVER be allowed to do in society to anyone else without going to prison for it, while the law ignores the right of the baby within her. BTW, most women will not have abortions anyway, whether the law allows them or not. Most women will have their babies if the law was reversed. If they chose to disobey the law, then they would have to suffer t he consequence of that, just like anyone who disobeys any other law out there.

Actually, you are wrong. More people believe that a fetus is a life, than those who don't. Polls show that more people are pro-life than pro-choice.

I believe you need to be the one to "back off". I do what I can when the opportunity arises to counsel women who want to have abortions because they feel it is their only way out of a situation that they don't want to endure. I give my money to fund programs that help the cause. I share the gospel with anyone who will listen. I do my share. I've even taken in my share of 'unwanted' children. So don't lecture me about fighting for my cause.
  12. Like I said.... What do those have to do with racism? One is sexism, the other is racism. I wasn't talking about the civil rights bill.

To clearify myself, I want to say that I do not advocate women dying to save their babies. I believe in a persons right to self defense. If a pregnancy occurs that will endanger the life of the mother, then the mother should have a right to life for herself. I have always stated this when the abortion isssue is presented.

Will President Obama’s budget plan really increase deficit spending much more than other modern presidents? Well, yeah, to the tune of seven times more, measured as a percentage of economic output, than under President Kennedy over 45 years ago — as you can see in this chart. You detest the fact that we have a Democratic President. You detest the fact that he cares about making changes in this country because you don't want change. You want to keep us in the America that allowed discrimination and white supremacy. You are truly stepping out of line with that statement. You need to apologize for that. I believe you know that you are being untruthful about me here. Maybe you are just trying to get a negative response from me or something with your words, but I refuse to fall into that trap. Shame on you. Furthermore, you have been manipulated by your politicians, who are driven by greed, to believe that supporting big corporations is more worthy than supporting your government. You are wrong about what I believe, as usual. I believe that government should not be supporting or funding ANYONE'S business. Big or small. I believe that people have a right to make their own businesses grow and expand. The people also have a right to choose which businesses they will support. And that is flat out stupid because history has told us that the Republican "trickle down" theory of economics absolutely does not work. And it's also been proven that without government interference and regulation, our economy won't make it. I don't agree with that. I think that you put too much stock in your need for the government. But, I can understand how having the government there for you is a sense of security thay you and others are not willing to provide for yourselves. In a perfect democracy it would work, but we don't have any such thing. What we have is a wealthy few who are amassing huge utterly unspendable in a life-time fortunes, on the back of the working class citizens. And people who can't think for themselves are championing that cause. It is so wrong and so backasswards it is bound to bite them in the butt eventually. Thank God. ............................

{Cleo's quote}And I am sick of YOU constantly yapping about Pres. Obama's spending and the deficit. If it weren't for bush's reckless policies and his taking care of his rich friends with tax cuts, Pres. Obama wouldn't be stuck cleaning up his mess. Say it again, Cleo's. Can you say it one more time?

    2) How do you think the programs bush enacted are currently being funded? OBama was in the Congress when bush was in office as well as many other democrats like him. He voted for these spending sprees. Now he must find a way to pay for them.He wasn't in the senate when they voted to go to war with Iraq. And he voted against one of their funding bills when he was. However, the bigger point is that the republicans controlled the white house, congress and the senate. The blame belongs solely on them. They didn't need democratic votes to promote their spending spree. You are just another neocon trying to rewrite history and I won't let you. IT'S BUSH'S FAULT. PERIOD When WE, as a nation, made the decision to go to war, EVERYONE in Congress was all for it. Whether they were dems or reps is irrelevent. The dems in this nation also wanted revenge for 9/11 and wanted to go to war. They thought, as Bush did, that Saddam was the cause of 9/11. I can remember that the whole nation banned together and wanted to go to war because of 9/11. What became of the war is a whole nother issue. the American people were failed by the majority of a Congress – a coequal branch of government – that voted to give the President the open-ended authority to wage that war. Let’s be clear: without that vote, there would have been no war.

I know this isn't the 'abortion' thread, but I wanted to post this little fact: The Roe Effect Pro-life Americans continue to out number the pro-abortion crowd, according to the latest Gallop poll on America's opinions on abortion. The spread, 47% to 45%, is within the margin of error, but the sea change is dramatic when compared with the numbers from 1996, when Americans 50-38 believe abortion is morally wrong, and abortion supporters only have themselves to blame for the demographic shift. You see, since 1973 when the U.S. Supreme Court scribbled abortion into the margins of the bill of rights, Pro-abortion parents faced with "unwanted pregnancies" have exercised their "right to choose". Consequently, as the Gallop data vividly show, pro-abortion parents have given birth to fewer children relative to pro-lifers, whose children were not slain by abolitionists and were raised to respect the sanctity of life. And now pro-lifers outnumber abortion supporters.

quote PG: See, there is no end to the regulations they try to put on us. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yeah like sodomy laws and trying to pass laws that will control women's bodies. I don't know of one conservative or even one Christian who is trying to pass any law that says men can't have sex with men or women can't have sex with women. I believe most feel that you should be allowed to do whatever you want sexually with whoever you want in the privacy of your bedroom. The Christian's only problem comes in when those who do those things want to make it a "marriage". Marriage is a covenant made, between 1 man and 1 woman, before God. Do what you want to do, just don't decieve yourself, or others, into thinking it's a marriage and calling it that and making the rest of the world call it that. It's NOT a marriage. That word already has been defined. As for the abortion issue, that one will never be settled. One believes that the baby is not a life, and therefore can be killed at any time while it is within her and the other believes that it is a life and should be treated as any other life out there, without murdering it. Both sides will always be dueling this one. I see it this way: Why not lean on the side of caution. Is it a life or isn't it? Well, that can't be decided by the 2 sides, so better to not abort, just in case it is a life. If you don't have that abortion, you've hurt no one. If you do have that abortion, you just killed someone.

You can't control how people feel, as much as you would like to. It's not right in God's eyes or mine, but you can't change people. Even more laws will not change the hearts of mankind. Only God can do that.

I'm sick of Cleo's constantly saying that GM has repaid their loan to the government. What you weren’t told was that GM was able to repay the money by drawing down on a line of credit that it had from TARP! In other words, GM took funds still available to it through TARP and used those funds to repay the loan it received from the government. Of course, it now owes $4.7 billion on its line of credit with TARP, but, that doesn’t make for good news, so it wasn’t reported.
