Wow! I made that post this morning,(pg 34) then left for work and now i'm back and see that I have offended many. I want to apologize. It was not my intent to hurt anyone in anyway. I was simply stating my reason for voting for McCain. I have a single authority that governs what I believe and how I make my decisions in life, and that is God's word. I understand that not everyone believes that there is a God,and that is your right, but I do. I want you all to know that I don't hate anyone. Both my sister and her son (my nephew) are gay. I love them both with all my heart. I did not call anyone an abomination. This is how GOD feels about humans of the same sex having sexual relations with one another. He hates the sin, but He LOVES the sinner. If he didn't love the sinner, He wouldn't have given his only son to die for our wrong doings in life. And to answer someones past question, God didn't make homosexuals. He made men and women. Men and women make their own choices on who they want to have sex with. ( Just like God didn't make overweight people,(the sin here is gluttony) He made men and women. Men and women make their own choices on how much food they put in their mouths.) He hates the sin of gluttony, but he loves the sinner(you and me). I am not against anyone who wants a civil union. I just don't want what God calls marriage to be changed.(which is between a man and a woman) . I am so sorry if I offended you in any way. I am simply stating that I will vote for McCain because , in my opinion, he and Palin have a higher moral character than Obama does.
-
'The people we vote for have the power to make or execute laws' This is so true, and that is one of the many reasons why i'm choosing McCain/Palin. At least we might get someone in there who will consider praying to God for guidance over each day. We will get someone who considers killing the unborn a tragedy and someone who feels that the marriage vows should be for a man and a woman only. Having decent morals is where a persons character begins. Without a moral and upright character, you have decietfulness and greed. Palin herself carried a child with a disability; she knew about it and delivered her baby anyway. That to me is a woman of character. May God bless her. Obama seems to me to be a man who will do or say anything to further his career in politics. He is not trustworthy. Anyone who doesn't have a care in the world about a defenseless baby in the womb could care less about anyones life. When you don't consider Gods ways when making your decisions in life, you will fail. I have found that God's advice given to man in the bible is the answer to every dilema. Do you want to know if it's ok to smoke? Read what God has to say. "Don't harm your body in any way." Do you want to know if homosexuality should be allowed? Read what God has to say. "No, it is an abomination." Do you want to know if You should hang around with people who party? He says "Do not be unequally yoked with them." Do you want to know if abortion should be the mother's choice? God says that if you kill an unbirn baby, YOU are to be killed.(there it is, the death penalty)It is murder. He has the answers. It's just amazing how many people will say that they believe in God, yet because they want to do what they want to do in life, decide to pick and choose what they will obey out of the bible. If God's words are true, and He is true, then his answers to these dilemas and debates should settle it. I'm not saying McCain is going to be obedient to God when making all of his decisions as the president, but I only have those 2 to choose from, and He seems the lesser of the 2 evils.

What is wrong with telling someone that it's a sin to murder someone else? It is a hard decision for a 13 year old to make, but it's a decision the baby could live with. It's not about what is best for the 13 yr.old, but what's best for the baby.
-
Parents can't legally disown their 13 year old children for any reason, and sadly, if they do, they can live in foster homes while the parents go to court for their actions.
-
And did you tell that child that she had another child growing inside of her and that even though she didn't like the circumstances that she was in, to get rid of the "problem' would be a sin and unpleasing to God according to his word? Did you tell her that even though she would have to sacrifice for the next 9 months, that it was what would be best for the life inside her and that she could give the child to a wonderful couple who longed for children and couldn't have any on their own?
-
You say you were a pastor and you don't have a problem with first trimester abortions? Maybe you should read exodus 21:22-25

God does want us to take care of those that are less fortunate, IF they are not phsically or mentally able to do it themselves. and He does not want anyone to take from others when they are able to work and provide for themselves.(this is why he said 'those who will not work will not eat) He also says to be a 'cheerful' giver.
-
Charity is when you give because you desire to do so. Taking is when the government enforces you to give. If your brothers are ok with their high taxation then good, cause if Obama gets elected, they wont have a choice. This issue is not about whether we should all feel the same as your brothers do, but about the government enforcing this. Free enterprise was set up in this country because those who didn't want to work, still were able to eat. Why look for a job or even try to work for anything in this life if it will be handed to you anyway? The gov. shouldn't be allowed to force those who got off their butts, worked hard, and sacrificed in life to get where they are, to give it to those who don't. They should be able to decide for themselves what charities they want their money to go to.

change, change, change...thats Barak alright!

Gadget, This too is scriptural. As I said before, The Lord God said it first "Those who will not work, shall not eat."

I do believe that a fertilized egg is a life. You don't. Then tell me, WHEN does this 'tissue' become a life? Day 1? 1 month? 3 months? 5,6,7 months? 9 months? WHEN? I've heard some testimonys of doctors and nurses hearing babies scream as they are extracted during abortions. They can obviously feel pain. I have seen my own ultrasounds of my children sucking their thumbs in my womb at 3 and 5 months. They can obviously comfort themselves. I have seen ultrasounds at 1 and 2 months of my sons and observed their beating hearts. Without a blood flow, their can be no heartbeat. The scriptures of God teach that 'Their is LIFE in the blood.' I believe that you are so into this debate, that to admit that a baby in the womb is a living being, would be very difficult for you to do now.( even though in your own heart of hearts you know that it is) Because if it is a real human life, then to kill it would be wrong and then you would have to admit to being wrong. I can see that that would be very difficult for you. And another thing, please don't speak to me about what you believe God's will is, because from what I hear from you, you don't have a clue as to the mind of God. If you would like to know what God's will is for this topic, I invite you to read His message to all people on Earth. It's written in HIs book. -

When you freeze and then destroy a human life, yes, you are committing murder. -
and this post couln't have been spoken about on any other site that wasn't entitled 'women of color'? I thought white was a color?

The pro choice movement is not about your right to choose a Ford over a Buick. It's ALL about abortion. So if you are pro choice, that means you are willing to allow others or yourself the right to kill children. We don't allow murder in this country, except the murder of the unborn. I can't understand why we allow it. I think Satan has blinded the eyes of some people to the reality of what they do. Some people are so self centered, that when it comes to making a decision as important as 'killing or not killing' their own unborn baby, they choose to do what's best for themselves without even taking into consideration the OTHER life growing inside them. It's so heart breaking. In this country, we are so concerned about the issues all around us that concern children, like headstart education, yet we don't even blink an eye for the 'headstart' of an unborn baby.

When our forefathers came to this country, they were willing to give their lives for what they believed, and they did. They felt that their 'truths' were self evident(no one needed to explain it to anyone). "We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, they are endowed by their Creator, with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are LIFE, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." The beliefs that this country was founded on have been thrown out the window as time has gone on. Why does that need to be explained to you when it was self evident back then? LIFE is precious, every life, even the unborn child's life. They have that 'RIGHT' to life. -

Don't let them get to you. They can't dispute what you say, so they have to resort to attacking your sources. -
Amen to that!

Very biblical. The scripture states " Those who will not work, shall not eat."
-
Just look at the 'No child left behind' law. If education were a state issue, we wouldn't have that law.

wow, is right. I left it alone (as you said) a long time ago. But you insist upon making a big deal about it. Where do you find every forum in LBT a white only forum? These LBTs are for ALL races. And, I NEVER called you a racist! (Go back to my original post.) For ebonyrose: I don't feel offended in any way. I am not racist. I love people of every color. I have 2 daughters of color, and a few family members as well, and my sister in law is a black woman. I am white. THIS was not my gripe. My gripe was that if all those other posts (that Theninside claims to have visited and siad they were for white people only) were named 'White women only' it might offend some woc. So, my gripe is with your Forum title. Period.

they can't. it's not in there. -
I use abecka and ACE for a couple of subjects. I also have biology and algebra taught on video, because those are my 2 worst subjects to teach. I have homeschooled my last 5 children. 2 have already graduated and are in college, 2 are in high school still, and my youngest is in 8th grade. My 2 oldest children were not homeschooled, and one didn't finish public school and got involved with drugs and drinking with his peers. The other seemed to only enjoy the social part of public school and neglected his education. This had alot to do with my decision to home school. Parents need to take control of their own childrens education and this is another reason why McCain gets my vote. He will allow for school choice, and let us homechoolers continue. It has been statistically proven that homeschooled children are far ahead in academics than public schooled children.
