For all the women out there who have had an abortion in the past and have now come to regret their decision, let me just say that to admit to God that you made a mistake when you chose that option would be a good thing. God loves us all, and he is very forgiving. He says that if you repent of your wrong doings, no matter what they are or how severe, he will always forgive you and never hold it against you. -

I just read in todays paper, that lawmakers in 11 states are considering bills that would require an ultrasound before a woman gets an abortion. There are 16 states that have this law already. CT , where I live, has a new bill requiring it. It sounds like a great idea to me. Sometimes when women can 'see' inside themselves, they begin to understand that there is a real live human beng in there. -
the scary stories dont help!

If you could deal with the IV they had to put in you before your surgery took place, then you can surely deal with that tiny poke. It's nothing! Trust me. I didn't hurt at all. -

Who said they were being accused of being disobedient to God? Not me. The disobedience comes in when you have sex outside of marriage, or when you have an abortion because of an 'oops'. They weren't sinning by getting married and choosing to be childless. I never said that. -

Testy! You're right. It is my opinion. Isn't that what we're supposed to give on this debate forum? You, too, have a right to give your opinion. Whenever someone says it is what God has to say on an issue, tempers flare. I wonder why? Could it be that you know He's right and it angers you because you don't like anyone telling you how to live, even God? -

I understand that married women have abortions too. But more times than not, if you are married when you get pregnant you accept the 'oops' and have a baby. My point was to say that God does not allow sex outside of marriage, and if more people would be obedient to that, then we wouldn't have so many problems. -

After reading all the last postings, all I can say is.... All the more reason for God's rule of getting married before sex. God created the sexual experience for MEN and WOMEN to procreate children within the marriage covenant to make a family together and for love and enjoyment between a husband and wife. He didn't plan it for prostitutes, abortions, homosexuals, pedifiles or pornography. Hard words, I know. But truthful. -
Should prostitution be legal?

I can top that! I can get anything I want from my husband, and we don't even have to have sex at all. -

Too bad the 'victim' can't have a say.:bananalama: -
Bubz, So glad you went in to get an unfill. At least now you know you are probably near your maximum tightness, since 1ml more is too much for you. I hope all the best for you. Patty

I just brought it up to show that 'man' does what he wants to get the end result that he wants, dispite whoever gets in his way. They make laws to benefit themselves, but don't care about the babies or anyone else for that matter. What a shame. -
I thought it was great that the crew from the plane was honored during the Super Bowl. They recieved a standing ovation, which was well deserved, I think.

Going from 5-8 ml in one fill is probably too much. I have a band that holds 10 cc. I first had 4 cc put in. Then 2cc. The first day of the 1st fill, I drank a little too fast and a little too much and I slimed it all up. But I learned that if I took 1 tiny sip of water every 5 min. or so, I could keep it down. I had to do this because the first few days after a fill, your stomach is swollen from the fill. After day 3, I was able to eat and drink normally again, but got full quicker. The 2nd fill, I knew better, so I drank tiny sips every 5 min. or so again until day 2 and 3 when I began to eat normally again after the stomach swelling went down. Be careful, though, don't let 1 day go by without being able to drink anything at all. In my opinion, you may need a slight unfill. Hope this helps you. God bless. Patty

Not enough info. Are you newly banded? Did you just have a fill? I feel you should ask your doc this question. God bless. Patty

Why the need to test it?
pattygreen replied to CountryGirlNY's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Susan, You said that we have to learn that not being hungry is enough. I have to say that before the band, I rarely felt hunger because I just never got to that point. I would eat regularly and before I was even hungry again, I would eat my next meal. So, for me, learning that not being hungry is enough, doesn't work. It is true, though, for the lapbander who was used to being hungry all the time preop. I have a problem at 5 months post op with not being able to eat just to eat. Eating used to be a big part of life, and now it's only a necessity for life. That's what's hardest for me. I wish I did have hunger problems before surgery, then I could say lap band took that away. -
Plain, Hillarious!!!:cursing:

What!!!??? Let me ask you, did you have any medical problems while overwight? Do you miss them? Do you miss your thighs rubbing together or the difficulty you might have had getting out of a chair? Do you miss the lack of respect some fat people get just for being heavy? How about your before surgery appearance. Do you miss that? It just goes to show you. Some people are just never satisfied. You obviously made being overwight your primary focus in life before lap band and now that you have achieved your goal and no longer have weight as a problem to conquer in your life, you are bored and can't figure out what to do next in life. I say start a hobby, join a class, go to church and make some new friends, get out and enjoy life. It is a precious gift hat God has given you. Was it worth it? Yes! Yes! and Yes! We only eat to live, not live to eat. Whatever you put into your mouth, enjoy it! Whatever you can't put in any longer, enjoy it! Enjoy Life!

Good for you! I know it is hard. I am remembering 2 weeks postop. ( I am 5 months post op right now.) Trust me, if you eat too soon, you will not reap the benefits of following doctors orders. You can do this!! Think of all you've been through so far! Surgery is no small feat. You will get through it a just like the rest of us and you'll be sooooo happy you fought the good fight! God bless, Patty -

Hello, it has been a few months since I said goodbye to this topic, but I am revisiting it because I recently heard that the IRS which takes the position that if a child is intentionally aborted but somehow manages to survive for 2 or more days before dying can be declared a dependant by the parents who attempted to abort him. This is pure secular humanism in action! Follow the logic now. The unborn child is aborted at his parents request, but they are not charged with assault because he isn't deemed to be human in the eyes of the law. But if he survives the abortion, he becomes a dependent for tax purposes because he is a child. But if he then dies a few hours later, his parents will not be charged with murder because he isn't a child. This is where the convoluted thinking of man leads us. We quickly cease to make sense when we abandon the wisdom of the creator and substitute our own puny ideas of the moment. -
Should prostitution be legal?
pattygreen replied to Carrie_C's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Green, Did you know that the bible says there will never be peace in the middle east until Jesus returns? So if you wait until then to 'convert' it will be too late. That's why I feel that no matter what the governments suggest to make peace over there, it's not going to work. (do you mind if I ask what would you be converting from?) Why do your wrinkles need healing? are they sick? lol. All things are possible with God. I believe that. Once I asked God to heal my hands because I washed alot of dishes by hand and they were always cracked and dry and even bled at times. Then one day I noticed that they were feeling better and then within 2 weeks time, they were great and I've never had the problem again. That was 10 years ago! So, God certainly is able, but the question is, "is he willing?" Wrinkled skin is just part of the aging process so I think we are kinda stuck with that one. -
I have alot of head hunger. I'm not hungry at all, but I see the good food in the house and would like to indulge like before, only I know I can't anymore. So I try to do other things.
-
I just had my second fill 6 days ago. I can't eat much at all (4 spoonfuls) and I'm real full. If I wait an hour, I can put in maybe 3 or 4 more mouthfuls, but who wants to be eating all day long just to finish one plate? So I push it away and forget it. I'm not hungry anyway. It's hard to give up eating just to eat. I have to remember that eating is to sustain life.

That 'change' in a persons life that I spoke about that God will bring in a sincere christian's life after they have asked God to save them and have repented is what christians call being 'born again'. We say that because we are born once physically, and then 'born again' spiritually.
