  1. Jeffrey Dahlmer raped, killed, and ate parts of 13 men. As punishment, the government planned to use His victims familys tax money to feed, clothe, educate, medicate, entertain and legally represent him for the rest of his life. His victims families will pay for him to be warm in the winter, cool in the summer and comfortable throughout his life. There is a right way to deter criminals and end the crime epedemic. That deterrence does not lie in telling Dahlmer to "Go and eat (sin) no more." In the 60's there was an average of 6,000 murders a year. The US Supreme court struck down the death penalty as unconstitutional in the way it was administered. 6 years later when it was reinstituted in the early 70s, the average murder yearly jumped to 16,000. In Saudi Arabia where they enforce a swift and certain death penalty, violent crimes are rare. Singapore and Los Angeles have equal populations yet there are 58 murders in 1 yr. in Singapore as compared to 1,063 a year in LA. God forbids murder in the 10 commandments, but he commands the lawful execution of murderers throughout the bible. I believe God knows what He's talking about! You are correct when you say that God will forgive those who repent and ask for it. He is very merciful. If Dahlmer, when he had plenty of time to think on his crimes while in prison, truly repented and was sorrowful for what He did, God would forgive him, and He would be allowed entrance into Heaven. But, remember, God is also Just. Dahlmer is still deserving of his just punishment. Death. This is why even when we sin and do wrong, there are still consequences for what we've done even if we say we're sorry. You see this in life all the time. As far as us taking the opportunity away from these murderers to accept Jesus as their savior by instilling the death penalty, I say... "When they committed their crime, GOD took away their opportunity to accept Jesus and be saved because HE made the death penalty law. Not us. Also, the bible says that God gives every man ample time in their lives to hear about his gift of eternal life and to turn from their wicked ways and live for Him." "Whoever sheds mans blood, by man his blood shall be shed." Genesis 9:6 "And will you profane me among my people who should not die, and keeping people alive who should not live?" Ezek. 13:19
  2. To 'murder' someone is to kill with an evil intent, To 'kill' someone is to rid them from society or to cause their life to end without evil intent. God does allow for the death penalty for those who murder others.
  3. God set up a system for man to follow. Sometimes men choose not to obey his policies. The death penalty was to be used for those who murder and take life without cause. The difference here is that babies that are aborted are innocent victims who have done nothing wrong and are not deserving of death. Murderers are. This is why the 'right to life' motto is for the innocent babies and not those on death row for their inhumane crimes.

Anti-Weight loss surgery video on youtube

Ha! ha! This reminds me of "the little piggy" story that goes around in my family as a moral lesson to the kids. When my sister, their Aunt, was younger, she was a toothpick. She once gave my sisterinlaw, who was heavy, a glass pig for her birthday. With a verbal message...."Oink,Oink, a pig, get it?" She was not only insensitive, but very rude. Now however, as an adult, she is fatter than her and everyone else in the family! Moral lesson...You reap what you sow.
  5. My husband and I had 7 children together. 3 Boys and then a girl and then 3 more boys. After our 2nd son, we took in 2 sisters who were born to an alcoholic and drug addicted mother, They were 2 and 8 months at the time and they were neglected and had some physical problems. Nothing that was too severe. One girl has scoliosis, and asthma and is often sick. She came to us malnurished, and with scabies. The other sister was born deaf in one ear and had speech impairments. She also had growth problems throughout her life. She took shots for growth, and at 22, now is 4' 10", so she did well for we took care of it early enough. When she was 16, we discovered that she was born without ovaries, so she can't have children. This is a big disapointment to her now, for she loves kids. She is a slightly slow mentally and needs some help with controlling finances for she can't count money. She came to us malnurished also. Then, after I had my 5th child, we took in a 12 year old who is slightly schitzophrenic and socially inept. He is 24 now and doing well. He graduated 4years of college and is a supervisor at UPS. He is looking for work in his field of business and computers. It just goes to show you, that even children with problems can grow up to be successful. right?
  6. Really? How? If the sperm can't get to the egg, then how will one ever get fertilized?
  7. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
  8. Normally, the fallopian tubes carry the eggs from the ovaries to the uterus. Tubal ligation closes the tubes. It prevents pregnancy because it stops sperm from ever reaching the eggs, so they can not become fertilized.
  9. This is true what you say. It was my responsibility to know what I was getting. This happened 17 years ago when it was just coming out, and the nurse came into my room with the shot and she told me a little about it. She assumed that after my having 5 kids already, that I would want this for at least the first 3 months after delivery. So without thinking it thru, I took it. I regret that. My husband was upset with me for not consulting him first, and I explained that it all happened so fast, and then when the dr. came in, we discussed it with him in full and he told us about it. I have learned from that and would not let something like that happen again.
  10. What's it to you where I post?
  11. I like what you said about being involved in your own healthcare. Drs. are only human, too. But in this case with the provera, he was correct after all. But I agree about being proactive in your care. Very important
  12. I just looked up on a google search of depo provera and read alot about how this form of birth control aborts a baby. Therefore, if you are prolife and using it, you may want to reconsider. All sites confirmed it. Except the planned parent site and a few abortion clinics. They posted that the provera kept the sperm from reaching the egg. (but I believe that they have an agenda, and therefore kept out the part that the egg and the sperm meet and the wall becomes thin and the fertilized embryo can not attach to it and is washed out of the woman.)
  13. True. If you believed in him you would do that.
  14. Thank you gadget, for looking that up. I was pretty sure that he told me that after the sperm met the egg, it could get washed out of you. I specifically asked him if it was like the earliest abortion anyone can get, and he said technically, yes. That was 17 years ago. I believe it was when that drug was new to us.
  15. God put the responsibility on the parents to teach and train up their children in the way they should go. If you fail to do this, and leave them to learn about Him from others, then you are disobeying Him.
  16. I'm not preaching to you. If I choose to have the same view on things as God does, can I help that? On this forum, we can all give our views. If you don't agree with mine, then that's your option.
  17. I did not look up any info on depro provera. I took what my dr. told me as truth.
  18. I have many friends. I'm not afraid of driving people the other way. If people choose to turn the other way simply because I have spoken God's truths on controversial issues to them, then they did that to themselves by not believing what He has to say.
  19. Any one of us here can know the mind of God. He says so in his words to us. Just read the scriptures and you will know his stand on all issues. God himself tells those who have read his words to tell them to others. He also said that if we do not share his words, we would be accountable to Him for not telling others. So, you are mistaken when you say I am sinning. I have never said that I know what is in this young woman's heart. Only her and God know that. I do however know what God has to say on things. And so can you.
  20. You are jumping the gun on what I've said. Or you are adding to what I've said. I said that everyone should teach their children about what God expects, but not ONLY that.
  21. ...............................................................
  22. I am sorry for all you've been through.
  23. I couldn't agree with you more. (on the education thing) I feel that every teen should be taught God's plan for them. (Sex should be abstained from until marriage.) If you feel you can't abstain, and you want to disobey God, then at least protect yourself from getting pregnant. Sorry, but I don't agree with you on not making it a crime. ALL murder should not go unpunished.
  24. The morning after pill is one. Also, After i had one of my children, and before I left the hospital, I agreed to having a depro privera shot. This shot is good for 3 months of protection against pregnancy. AFTER I already had the shot, I questioned the doc about how it controls births, and found out that if the sperm met the egg, and formed a baby, as it moved to the tubes, it would be come washed out of the cervix. Needless to say, that was the longest 3 months for both my husband and I, for we did not have sex for fear of killing a life that might have begun.

    Intro

Rosie, you just don't give enough info here. Is that 1 year you have had the band? I'm thinking it must be because you have had three fills. It can take quite a few fills (adjustments) before you are tight enough to begin losing steadily. If you have only lost 30 lbs., that averages out to be about 1/2 pound a week. My dr. likes to see 1-2 lbs. each week, and if he doesn't, he will say I need a fill. My advice to you is to get another one. I can say that I have been banded for 5 months and have lost 46 pounds. That averages about 2 lbs. each week. Although, I lost alot of that the first 2 months, and it took 3 fills to finally get me at a place now where I'm not eating more than I'm burning. You need to find that place as well. God Bless. Patty
