Hi. Had Band to Bypass Conversion on June 18. Ive had no pain, no nausea, no restriction, no full feeling. Am I a freak of nature?? I've been able to eat anything that's been put in front of me. Any kind of food, almost any amount. I'm not sure what to do. It comes down to the old adage " just because you can, doesn't mean you should ". I've called my Dr, but he doesn't seem worried. Personally, I'm freaking out. Any thoughts??

Also, anyone post op all of a sudden have ACNE??? I've never had an acne issue ever. I'm 50 and NOW I have acne?? Any thots about what I can take, or do? -

Makes sense, but I sometimes don't know when to quit. I'm extremely surprised I can even EAT that much, without puking or pain... -

Wow Cupcake! That's awesome! I'm 2 weeks out and only down 7 ... Best of luck to you :-) -
Hello! I'm Bobbie from ND. I was Banded in 2008, and had band removal and RNY just 2 weeks ago ( June 18 ) The band caused a lot of major issues for me, including GERD and a severely damaged esophagus ... Feeling sooo much better with RNY. I was going to do it initially but decided on the band. Oh well, live and learn :-) I wish you all luck !!

Why do people say Revision patients lose slower
BobbieND replied to PrincessErin's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Just got approved for Roux en Y... nothing but trouble with my band since I got in 2008. Actually looking forward to the revision! I just hope I don't have as many issues with the bypass as I've had with my band... -
Hello! I need advice, feedback, and just to rant a bit! lol... So, I used to be a "Smashing Pumpkin" on here (LBT) ... Banded October, 2008. First year was awesome! Lost almost 100 pounds! Have been maintaining the last 4 years... up and down only 10 lbs, so I've been really lucky. However, I need to get reconnected with my band, and myself. For the past 4 years, I have slimed, and puked almost every day. Some foods work one day, but not the next. Some foods wont work at all. I'm not sure if I'm not chewing enough, bites too big, just bad food, etc... I'm actually afraid to go to the clinic for a check-up because I'm afraid they may tell me I need to have the bad removed. I can honestly say that if it gets removed, I know I will regain my weight. Mentally, I'm not at a great place for this. I'm obsessed with food... still. I get angry that I cant just sit and eat a burger, or a sandwich, or fries, or whatever, like I used to be able to. Even in super small amounts, I can't eat any of the foods I used to enjoy. Sometimes I eat certain foods just so I can taste it, knowing it wont be staying down. And I don't always know when to stop. My chest gets full, and hurts, but I never ever feel sated... in my stomach. I never actually feel full! Is this normal???? I keep thinking maybe I should see if I can get the Sleeve done, or even Gastric bypass. I'm good at eating small amounts, I just hate that I have so few options to choose from, and even those, more than likely, wont stay down. I know its supposed to be just a tool, but without it, I can admit, out loud, finally, that I wouldn't make it. My body is slowly falling apart, so exercise hasn't been much of an option the past couple of years. Bad knees, back problems, etc... I do have a dog I walk daily, but that's about all the exercise I get. I'm not working due to physical limitations and have applied for SSI/SSDI. I was off my meds for the past 8 months due to no money and no insurance. Thankfully, I was just approved for Medicaid, so I'm finally getting my meds and getting my brain back on the right path. I've also recently quit smoking, and am doing PT for my chronic back pain. So, things are starting to look up. My next and last step is my band, diet, etc... So, anyone with any thoughts? Questions? Comments? Snide remarks? I'm open to anything at this point... Thanks for reading..... Bobbie

Ok... I need more Calcium and Vitamin D in my diet. I don't do much dairy... so I'm thinking milk... either to drink or put on Cereal. What are your favorites? Whole? 2% ? Skim? or do you like Almond milk ? Soy Milk? Coconut milk ? Flavors? Brands? Thanks!!

Hello ! So, i'm just wondering ... How much weight di you lose before you HAD to go out and buy new clothes?? I was Banded in Oct, I'm down 32 lbs, and my butt is baggy in all of my pants. LOL but they still "fit", and i cant afford to buy a whole new wardrobe. Did it take a loss of around 30# ? 40#? 50#? I'm just curious where I'm fitting w/ other Bandsters Thanks!

2011 - banded, banding, bands--verb--To assemble or unite in a group
BobbieND replied to ElfiePoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Happy Hump Day !! I hope everyone is doing well ☺☺ I've had a lot going on, BUT .. I am woman ! I CAN get thru it all!! I have a question - when you eat, do you really get a satisfied feeling of being full? When I eat, my chest hurts, my ribs, etc... In Nov there wasnt any sign of a slippage. I DO have a small Hiatal Hernia, but they didnt think it would cause any problems. Anyway, I'm just wondering what you feel when you eat. Have a super day, All!! Gotta go run a few errands ... Talk to you later on !! -

Bobbie I distinctly remember saing something about destroying those horrible ciggies! So now you are not just struggling with the weight you have another horrible habit to kick too! Bad girl! LOL. As cute as you are noone looks cute with a fag hanging out of the side of their mouth and the smell is pretty bad too. I have to ask how do you manage to afford to smoke if you can't afford your meds? Smoking is one hell of an expensive habit and surely your meds and your health are far more important. Is there some kind of volunteer work that you could do? It might not bring in an income but it could do wonders to boost your self esteem. Plus if your hands are busy you won't have time to smoke. Keep up the good work everyone. Elcee - I know - BAD girl, shame on me. lol ... So, let me clarify a couple of things. Yes, you DID tell me to put them down, and walk away. However, with my stress level right now, I need them for my sanity !! ok, let me back up a bit ... *SMoking - we roll our own, so as far as the cost, it about 20 a week, instead of $20 a day. Granted, no excuse, but not bad, considering. I only smoke 2-4 a day. Again, no excuse, but its just enought to keep the edge off right now. *My bf cant find work, so im the "bread winner" of the family ) which consists of me, him, 2 cats and a hamster) * I DO work part time - actually 2 part time jobs. Never over 15 hrs a week total, though. Heaven forbid they offer me more! So, yeah, i'm working a bit, so that HELPS, but i really need bebefits for my meds. * Affording smokes over meds... $20 a week I can afford ( most of the time) but $497 a month for meds, w/o Ins, i cant. I'm not sure how I'll make rent yet. ((heavy sigh)) It totally bites. But I can only do what I can do, right? So i wake up ( knock wood) So I have my crying jags, my bitch sessions, etc... then I get over it. Elcee, I SO appreciate your honesty with me !! Thats why I love you guys. I do need assistance getting my Dieting Mojo back, tho. At least its getting warmer here now so I can get outside a bit. Had a heatwave here yesterday - 37 above! Shorts and flip flops everywhere !! hehehehe Not kidding! Oh, and I dont run around with a "fag" hanging out of my mouth ( great image btw ) but I do agree on the stink I know i'm nothing special, but I really truly believed I wasnt one of "Those" who would gain the weight back !! I'm up 30 pounds, and none of my clothes fit !! WTF! I have a monsterous appetite, and can eat waaaay more than i have been able to in years. I cant get a fill because my hyatial hernia has been wreaking havoc w/ my band, and i go up and down so much, that she wont do any more for me. i know I need a very small fill, but thats my lot right now, i guess... So, again, I'm so happy to have you all here for me. You mean the world to me !!! ☺☺☺ -
2011 - banded, banding, bands--verb--To assemble or unite in a group
BobbieND replied to ElfiePoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like everyone is doing well!!! Mel, I'm so sorry if you have to cancel surgery :-( I'm doing ok. Still can't lose the weight! I was over full last fall, and was puking constantly, but was losing weight. Although not healthy, i was eating WAAAY less. Now, due to hyatal hernia, they wont fill anymore after they took out most of it last fall. So, Yes, started smoking again, and trying to not eat sugar and carbs. NOT WORKING! I've started walking again, as its finallly nice enough out to do it here. My knees are killing me again. Oh yeah, new diagnosis - RA ... in knees and hips. Holy ! How much can one body endure?? I also believe the lack of lass as of late is due to still being out of a job. Just not much around this area right now. my depression has kicked in full swing because I no longer have insurance and cant afford my meds, again. GRRRRRRRRRRR BUT .... i'm stil cute as hell Even with saggy tits, I'm a knockout lol I guess i can bitch until im blue in the face, but it wont change things... so whats the point. So, once again, I need a good ass kicking ... who wants to start ?? I know i have plenty of friends here who want to... C'mon! Its a free pass!!!! I'll take thoughts, ideas, thrashings, tough love, whatever you can throw at me. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!!! -

Thank you SO much for the Tough Love! And the nummy recipe ! :-) I didn't open the cigs - but really wanted to. I inhaled several Girl Scout Cookies instead. ok, ok - I know its not any better, since I got nauseous from them ... so you can put the whips away - Lesson Learned!! So Mel, you totally gave up carbs ??? WOW! You're my hero! Elcee - Take Stock .... Hmmmmmmmm there's a concept I've been very far removed from for way too long. Thank you for reminding me. I wish I had a "Buddy" here , in town. My BF is useless when it comes to food, the band, understanding what I'm going thru, or ways to help and support. Oh well, that's what you guys are for, right ???? Bobbie (((HUGS))) -

BobbieND replied to ElfiePoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello All ... Ok - i need a good old fashioned brow beating, and a sharp kick in the ass - PLEASE !!!!! So, I quit smoking - WOOT! Gained 30 pounds - and now I just lost my job - AGAIN !!!!! And I have an unopened pack of cigs in front of me. Debating if I should start to help calm the nerves and stop the gain ? My surgeon moved, and no one here does fills any more. However, I'm feeling like a few of you at this point - chest pains , shoulder pain, upper arm pain. Dont get me wrong - I love my band, but now wondering if GB wasnt the way I should have gone - It was my first choice a few years ago... I hate the up and down, the "fickle nature" of it - i can eat the same foods and some days its good, and other days its a nightmare. I'm trying to cut all refined sugar, and some bad carbs. Lets be honest - I can't eliminate ALL of them.. I'd be lying to myself. So, as I sit here and cry, feeling sorry for myself, i need a kick to get me away from this party !!!!! Granted, Im elated over the 100 pounds lost ( well, 70 now - and none of my new clothes are fitting any more :,/ ) but im so frustrated!!!!!! GRRRRRRRRR And I feel like an insensitive clod knowing what issues you all are having; the pain, the hurt, the struggles, etc... I just really needed to vent. Miss you guys! and love you lots!! ((HUGS)) -

Hello !!! Ok, I woke up and it was -24 , and -47 with the wind chill !!! Holy!! So, my weight hasn't shifted at all... up or down!! WTH? I've really cut back on "crappy" nibbles, and eating more balanced meals. I hate this. It came off fairly easily the first 1.5 years. Now its been over 2 and my body seems to be fighting it. Hope you all have a fabulous weekend planned!! I'll be working ... lol -
Are all of these for the Kinect ???? I'm confused ... :-(
