I have 2.5 cc in a 10cc band. Eating too much less is not the answer, it puts your body in starvation mode and it will retain everything it can!!!! Answer is to eat normal as possible, then drop back !!! I'm telling you this works!!!! Don't starve yourself, eat until your satisfied. I've tried this when i was at a stand still and it works, plus many other bandsters have told me about it and it worked for them and it will work for us!!! If you go into starvation mode with your body, eating less and less till it's almost nothing, you will stand still ... eat your proteins, DRINK PLENTY OF WATER!!!! You will start losing again! Good luck to us all!

Forgot to ask, how much do you have in your band now? I just got one fill so far and it was 2.5 cc

Don't get discouraged; I was at a plateau also, but actually and you're not going to believe this ... i found i had to eat MORE to actually start losing again!!! Seems when you eat so little your body goes into starvation mode and you don't lose, it adjusts itself to what you have given it, so what I did was to eat more ... by eating alittle every two-three hours ... I did this for 24-36 hours and then went back to my regular schedule ... and I lost 4 pounds in like two days!!! I haven't updated my counter, but I had lost 9 lbs. on my first fill date 11/4; and now i think according to my scale I have lost another 10 pounds and I'm due for my second fill on 12/4. Keep on with your high protein foods and drink lots of water ... you will start to lose again!!! It's so nice to get on the scales and actually see them going down instead of up!!! We have embarked on an incredible journey and we can do this! I get soooo many compliments on how great i look; and I feel so good about doing something for myself, I have more energy than I've had in years! My grandson even noticed that I can do more things with him! Keep up the good work, it will pay off!!!

I hope you're doing better. I'm two weeks post op and doing great. I am experiencing some discomfort at the port site now for the first time. Nothing serious, just uncomfortable. Swelling has all gone and I can actually feel the port, which is cool! I hope everyone is doing well and I'm praying for the ones who are having problems! Hang in there ... I'm so excited about our journey! God Bless, Jeanie

Same here, I did a two week Opti-Fast and it was $200 for three cases. I got two of chocolate and one of strawberry. I actually like the chocolate and it is very satisfying. I never actually felt hungry. Now, the strawberry is still in my pantry. I didn't like the taste of it. But I had plenty with the two cases of chocolate. I lost 13 pounds during that two period. I did NOT cheat ... only the Opti-Fast and liquids, and the SF popcicles and jello. You can do too, because if you've come this far, you are committed to changing your life, and this is the first major step! So hang in and keep telling yourself, you are in charge of the body from now on!!! I go tomorrow for my two week post-op visit. I went last week to my PCP for a one week checkup and I had lost 8 pounds. I feel great, the surgery was so easy. Gas pains is the worse of it, and I used the Gas-x strips that just dissolve on your tongue and they worked great! My incisions have healed beautifully and I'm very excited about this journey and all the great people I have met along the way! God Bless, Jeanie

I was nervous too ... but it was the easiest, simpliest surgery I have ever had done! Tell them you are nervous, and they will give you something sooner to take the edge off. I'll be praying for you! and waiting to hear all about how your experience, everyone I have talked to has had easy, smooth surgeries and so will you!

The last few days are the hardest on the opti-fast; but hang in there everyone! I was banded on 9/23/08 in St. Pete Florida. I was doing great in the hospital!!! up and walking, no pain, everthing was great, then I had a three hour car ride home, and I've been really sore, nothing unbearable, just sore and aching. The gas-x is wonderful, I bought the dissolve on your tongue form, since I don't like liquid meds, for pain, I chopped up a pain pill and took it in pieces with lots of water. Worked fine! during my first night home, I was soooo dry mouth I ate SF popcicles and drank alot of water. Which in turn made me spend alot of time in the bathroom!!! LOL!!! Today I feel much better, and I will try to move around more today. It's so good to be on here with fellow bandsters ... we can do this! We're on a way ... look out world here we come!

Well, I'm leaving home in about an hour to head to St. Pete beach for my final visit with my surgeon!!! Then tomorrow at 2 pm I check into the hospital ... and have my surgery!!! I'll be back on as soon as possible with all the details! I was disappointed that it's in the afternoon though! I've never had surgery that late in the date before ... I guess everyone is different, they said he doesn't start surgeries until 1 pm, so I don't even know where I am on the schedule ... it's OK ... it will all be worth it by tomorrow night regardless of what time i have surgery! I love reading all the posts, it's been such an inspiration to me to know so many others are on the same journey and facing the same hurdles ... and we all are going to make to a healthier lifestyle with our new "tool"! God Bless and you are all in my prayers!:rolleyes2:

Seems like the day is approaching for most of us ... mine is in 48 hours ... I don't have to do mag citrate ... just the two liquid opti-fast ... I think that's enough! I've done great on it ... 11 days and then BOOM! I was so hungry yesterday! I was stressed ... we had about 8 grandkids here swimming and playing around ... and eating every 5 minutes and I was so hungry! I made it though, took some xanax last night and slept great, getting ready for church this morning and realizing I need to start cleaning up around my computer and getting my stuff packed for the trip to the hospital!!! Yeah! We will be staying overnight before surgery, since it's so far from home, and I have one overnight night in the hospital, him in a hotel ... so, it's finally getting to be real! Praise God ... I'm praying for all of you this week, keep me in yours ... we'll probably all be back on line by Friday or Saturday with great stories! Looking forward to reading each one ... this is it! We are on our way!
