Having read your concerns and insults at nurses and drs. looking after your mother and lets face it thousands of others needing attention... why dont you spare a thought for the over worked, under staffed and totally exhausted nurses who according to you are not quite frankly doing their jobs properly.... its is my opinion, that if relatives are so concerned at the lack of hydration or nutrition of family that they should attend at meal times and feed their relatives.. that way ensuring proper care.... as you so put it!!!... MY advice... try spending a couple of days working your socks off on a busy ward, listening to insults and see how you like it!!!.. my guess is not a lot...!!

Ive had two fills with 2mls in on each occasion..so now 4mls. I had to push for the second 2, he wanted to put in 1.5mls.. not on par with what other people seem to get..At this rate, it'll take 7 -10 fills to reach restriction, which is daft..

hi.. how are you??.. my appt is 2.45..but since my sense of direction is bad, I'll prob try to arrive early..maybe around midday.. if you're still there.. stand up and shout my name..lol!!!... Looked at WLS site and I couldnt see the package for £270.. one for £400 plus yes... where have people found this price?? I'm expecting to struggle to get a fill of more than .5ml.. which is ridiculous... I tried for 3 last time but he wouldnt have it.. I actually think I'm gaining weight.. to scared to go on the scales to find out!!..

hi.. yes, thought I should make my own way in the bandster world!!!!... took a long time for mine to settle down.. only have 4 mls in.. very slow process... unable to get Frederick to go for more... weight loss very poor too.. but, since I have very little to no restriction its not surprising..am going for my 3rd on 12/3.. but read about WLS 's package.. am thinking it would be worth travelling to Birmingham if it gets the job done quicker and cheaper...

hi.. they do do tummy tucks at he hospital.. done by Dr deDonker.. Dr, Chrsi only does the banding surgery..Cost of tuck is approx £1500... only know this cos a lady who had lost 10st was having one the day after my banding.. Kath you've lost loads of weight..well done.. I don't have any restriction on the 2mls.. I will try to be good, but my halo is slipping!!!!...just tried a pork pie... couldnt eat it..too greasy... so, thats a good sign dont you think? lol!!! well, back to the fridge to see what else I can eat!!

hi.. I wasnt given a choice of volume.. he said 2ml and 1.5 next time.. I wonder if it was because of the collection around the port that made him decide on that??.. anyway, so far no restriction, and this evening I had two bacon rolls.. could have eaten more but trying to be good!!!..am treating myself to a glass of wine, might even have two!.. havent booked another fill yet.. think I might see how this goes, and book for january, if I can wait that long.. If all is well, I think i'll ask for a larger fill otherwise it'll get costly trying to get to the sweet spot. How much weight have you lost this far?.. are you happy with your progress?? have a nice weekend vanessa:thumbup:

Yes, I believe a slow steady weight loss is better for the old skin sag problem... in four weeks ive lost 11 lbs.. its slowed down once I began eating larger portions.. I havent been sick at all.. my advice is.. stop eating once you get a feeling of fullness or a heavy feeling in your chest.and chew everything really well. these are the warning signs.. heed them and you should avoid being sick.. ignore to your peril.. Ive no doubt I will over eat at some point.. I cant avoid cake forever!!!.. but eating consciously is the key... By the way, my stomach is much better... much softer and more comfortable... have a nice weekend...

Hi.. please dont be sorry for asking questions.. these are things we are all interested to learn about.. It WASNT dR Chris or Frederick..but it was a man called Chris!!.. he works for the team.. a very nice polite man.. He said the fluid around the port was from the op.. they washout the area after they finish the op..the fluid hadnt reabsorbed but stayed in a pocket around the port.. I asked if it looked infected and he said no..So, I had two needles , one to aspirate the fluid.. no pain at all..the second for the fill... that did hurt.but was bearable. so, when its your turn, no flinching!!! .. He asks you to drink some water to see how it goes down.. I felt a slight tightness but nothing more, now no tightness at all.. I'm supposed to stay on fluids till monday.. I had soup last night and it went down fine.. had half a tin but could easily have managed the rest..I expect to notice more of a restriction when I start eating properly, so I will let you know how it goes..If I feel fine I'll probably eat something mushy today..:tongue2:

hi, I did wonder if it was you..but didnt seemt appropriate to just ask.. should have really.. Fill went ok.. apparently I had a fluid collection around the port, it has been uncomfortable at times..he aspirated about 5mls.. after that all went ok..he put in 2mls.. said 1.5 next time..don't seem to have much if any of a restriction at the moment....how many mls do you have now?.. did you see him the last time you went?.. he's very polite..

hi. e mail all your flight details to Frederick he will then arrange your taxi's... but he may not tell you its all arranged! so be prepared to email for confirmation nearer your departure.. The taxi driver will have an ECFS card, look for that, your name might not be on view...(this happened to me).. he will take you to your hotel.. book in as normal... Frederick will see you at your hotel . he will tell you what time you will be picked up the following morning..for me it was at 06.45am..Post op.. wait in reception, taxi will pick you up from there.

hi... I was banded 4 weeks ago but wasnt offered an xray.. shame cos I'd have like to have seen the band in situ.. Initially I had no appetite due to nausea, a couple of weeks actually.. now though, I can eat everything.. sometimes I get a heavy feeling in my chest , that can happen even if I havent eaten much..but it soon goes... I try to make a conscious effort to chew well.. apparently thats the secret to eating proper food with the band..

HI Gillian.. dont worry I wont get fed up.. I'll be keen to know how you get on too..Im having my fill in Manchester.. its on an industrial estate just off the airport.. Its not under xray, you have to go back to brussels for that.. but you can have a fill under xray in MRI for £150..(not under Dr Chris) As for band size, he certainly put the same size in all us ladies that day.. not sure how he decides on size, maybe a question to ask him? let me know what he says.. As for injection, yes you have to take them for 5 to 7 days post op.. they supply youwith them.. inject into your stomach, grab a lump of flesh to the side of you belly button and plunge!!.. it stings but you get used to it.. alternate sides for injecting.. avoids bruising.. hope this is all helpful vanessa
