Hello everyone I have been sleeved May 1 and have been doing great no pain meds needed, staying active....woke up in the middle of the night with a scratchy feeling in my throat, feeling like I need to caugh but when I did my whole mouth was filled with bitter saliva. I coughed once or twice and drank a bunch of water. (like a cup of it) No pain, the water went down without any problems, the only symptom is feeling like I'm congested (a little wheezing and rattling in my chest) and great bitterness in the back of my throat. Every time I caugh the saliva that comes up is clear and very bitter. Any thoughts or suggestions

Hello everyone I have been banded by Dr. Spivak a little over a year ago but have lost only about 25lb (I was at about 40bmi). My question to the forum is: has anyone have had a endoscopy (upper gi) with the band??? I told my docter that it has been tightened (about2cc) and he said that its not a problem and that he has done hundreds of pts with the band and that i do not need to loosten it before hand. I'm kinds of conserned since my band is extreemly tempermental and I don't want to p**s it off any more. The reason for the gi is because I have Crohn's dz and this little band has put me pritty much in remesion:) but i have had some issues since my last gi visit (3yrs ago) and he wants to check me from one end to the other:rolleyes: So what does everyone think????

Hi everyone I have just come back from a LBT cruise (well about a monthe ago;)) and it was so great that I disided to give a gift of a transatlantic cruise for my dad's birthday. Unfortunatly my mom can't go (its a 14 day cruise and she has a bussines and can't leave it for that long:cry). This is such a wonderfull opertunity that I hate to just throw in the towl. If anyone (male or female) would be interested in sharing a cabin with an older GENTELMAN who is very clean/non smoker/very respectfull of ones space and privacy/ and has a GREAT sence of humor, please let me know. The cruise is out of Galvaston TX it is RCI's Voyager of the Seas. It is a 14 day cruise with stops in Portugal and Spain and you have to disimbark in Spain and fly home. The prices for the voyage (no airfaire) starts at $800+p/t (for inside cabin). If anyone is interested please pm me. This is a great oppertunity to go on a luxery cruise without paying an arm and a leg if you do not mind sharing a cabin which is really there only to sleep in:notagree Alexandra

Hey girl! WooHoo you look like a hot mama!!!!!! The surgeon did a great job besides the bruises one can't tell that you had lipo and your skin is gorgeous! Have not heard from Windy but seen Karla and her boy at Splashtown, we had a blast. Looking forward to our next year cruise (spring, summer, fall does not matter) I think it is the Voyager that comes out of Galvaston. Hyopthyroidism....LapBand questions....
xelapaul replied to slowkat's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I also have Hashimoto's and the band has been a blessing for me I went from 145 to a wopping 220 (huge for my 5'3 frame) I did the surgery in July and have lost 24lb so far I know I was eating too much and the PBs keep me from shuffling in junkfood:cool: . Everyone tells me that I look 10 years younger since my surgery. Also, I was on Synthroid for many years and only when my dr switched me to Armor Thyroid did I start seing any possitive results as far as weightloss and energy levels. -
Dear Melissa Is it possible to do the meeting the 8th (Friday) instead of the 7th (I am working 'till 8pm:mad: ) I keep missing the meeting because my schedual changes every week and I would LOVE to meet all of you. If the 8th is out of the question could next meeting be on a weekend? Alex

so scared, help, please!!!kinda gross. women only.
xelapaul replied to Hedwig's topic in The Gals' Room
Go to ER!!! They will treat you even if you do not have insurance. This might be a large hemoroid that raptured which will cause you to loose blood (red) and might make you anemic. It might be a sign of Crohn's (I have it) or Ulcerative Colitis (people who have this bleed out of their rectum sometimes). In anycase do not play russian rulet with your health (and possibly life:eek: ) Alex -
Thank You so much for posting this information every month. I was not able to make it these times (carzy work schedual) but, I am hoping to come to the September meeting so thanks again and please continue to post meeting times on this sight

Hey everybody!!!! I'm alive and geting better every day!! I had some really bad gas/shoulder pains but I am doing better now. I started work yesterday and everybody is looking at me funny (I did not tell anyone what kind of "abdominal" surgery I was having). I have really long hair and which I wore in a pony tale and one of the Drs (I work in Hospital) actually mistacend me for another sonographer (who is stick thin, blond, and looks nothing like me). I lost 9lbs since my day of surgery:biggrin1: !! The only thing is that I am starting to get hunger pangs and going to the cafeteria (I usually bring a "cup-o-soup" with me) with other personel is becoming an exercise in will power:mmph: . I have a questiong to you all my wonderfull friends, where is your ports?? All my laporscopic "openings" are still healing and I can't tell where it is:nervous . Anyhooo I'm looking forward to a new life with the band and hopefull this will be the one thing that will finally work for me indefinetly. Thank You all for being here for me all of you are wonderfull and I hope I can have the opertunity to show my caring, support, and kindness to you all as you all have done for me. THANK YOU!!!!! PS: as most have you have noticed...I AM A TERRIBLE SPELLER...and I am sorry if I have horified some of you who are more eliquent with my missuse (and abuse:p ) of the English language (I immigrated here as a child from Moscow, Russia but it is not a good excuse I know). I am usually too imberased to post too much since in three letter words I make four mistakes:biggrin1:  Alex -
