  1. I'm currently 4 weeks post-op and have been having a hard time. I can't get my liquids or protien in. I went to the doctor last week and they had me get IV fluids to help out. I just feel nauseous all the time. I am taking zofran to help with that. I feel like things are never going to get better. Any advice or just some reassurance would be great.
  2. Hi! After week 4 it seemed like everything finally changed for me. I no longer was feeling sick and was able to start keeping water and soft food down. I felt great and was able to walk longer distances daily. My doctor said in about 5% of WLS patients they deal with the nausea and just feeling down around the 3-4 week mark but it won't last long. Oh, also I had my labs done at my 3 month post-op and they were perfect. I'm currently 4 months post-op and down 61lbs! It's amazing how much better I'm feeling. Best of luck to you and I hope things start turning around for you.
  3. I'm almost to 6 weeks post-op (yay me) and I am now on a regular diet. Now that I'm starting regular foods, I would like to know how long one should wait to take another bite? Do you set a timer? Is there a feeling you get? Any tips or tricks would be helpful. Thanks 😊

    Regular Diet

Thank you both for the great info. I'm still taking things really slow (I had issues at the 3 week mark and had to get IV fluids). I'm still struggling on getting my proteins and water but it's slowly getting better. I just want to make sure I'm doing things correctly. I see my doctor this week for my 6 wk post-op so I'm sure they'll have some additional info for me.
  6. I also live in Wisconsin and had my surgery almost 5 weeks ago. I've been freezing since I've had the surgery. I've been buying cute sweaters the past few weeks. I'm dreading once winter hits here. Stay warm friends

    I had surgery on 9/5
  8. Thank you so much for your response. I'm hoping that I start feeling better soon and then things will get easier. This was my first surgery so I wasn't sure what to expect and how recovery would be. I think I'm also just putting anxiety on myself when things don't seem to being going right. I'm going to just take a step back and go from there.

    5 weeks post op retching?

@gabbieox7 I'm going through the exact same thing. At 3 weeks I couldn't eat/drink anything without getting sick. I went in and had a scan and everything looked normal, the doctor even had me get fluids. I'm not 4 weeks post op and still having the same issues. Some days are worse than others. The doctor did say it can be normal for sleeve patients. I just want to feel normal again.
