I keep hearing about Pbing? What is it? and sliming? too. Need lapband talk dictionary. Please help.

I have a college degree and am so called' working on my masters" however that has not prevented me to want to be a stay at home mom. My husband is leaving the corporate world this week since they did not meet his salary demands and is going into business for himself. God has opened many doors for us and we hope that with the business I can stay at home with my children. In august our daycare expenses will go up to $1200 a month not to include gas, tolls and work clothes. It doesn't pay for the both of us to spend so much time away from our children. I have many friends who are stay at home mom's and they make it work. God always provides is what they have been telling me. Ultimately it is your decision whether you want to stay at home, however, compromise might be in order. When I first got married 8 yrs ago, I was on the corporate ladder and now, I only care about the money i make and my kids and home life, not necessarily in that order. Yes. The only thing that I have learned from the website is that he knows that he is good and that he has poor bed side manner. I am going with him since he is on my plan, and I trust that his hands are steady. I am waiting to see if I get approved.

Did you have to do a pre-op diet? I will find out this week if my insurance will pay for the band? I am going w/ Dr. Spiegel as well.

I have three friends who have had the gastric bypass. They are now skinny and they act as if they know they are beautiful. They are just celebrating their new selves. I think that friendships that are centered around food might change, but you can do other activites. I think a true friend will celbrate the new you. However there will be some jealosy however it may also be a motivator to others if someone in your friendship group lost weight. I know that when my friends lost weight, I was envious. But I know that I am in control of my weight loss and that I need help and that is why I am going to do the gastric band.

Good luck on your banding. I wanted to use Spivak but he does not take Cigna in network. So i am going w Dr. Spiegel. prayers your way for a steady hand for Spivak and a speedy recovery for you.

What pre-op tests did Spiegel require? I went to his seminar and I don't know why I forgot to ask?

i HAVE CIGNA. I AM STARTING MY DOCUMENTATION NOW. SO I AM GOING TO SEE MY PCP EACH MONTH AND DISCUSS MY WEIGHT ETC. LET'S SEE WHAT HAPPENS. I ALSO WAS TOLD TO ONLY DISCUSS WEIGHT ISSUES NOT ANY OTHER HEALTH ISSUES. HAS ANYONE HEARD THAT AS WELL?

I want to use Spivak for lap banding, but learned that he is out of network for Cigna. so that is another insurance company. So now I am checking to see if Dr. Naaman is still in network.

I am considering lap banding and am just starting to research it. I don't want gastric bypass. My sister had and she is doing great but I don't want to really alter my "inners". Do any one knows what would make a candidate not be able to have the lap band? I am planning to use Dr. Spivak in Houston or Dr. Naaman in Houston. I hate the dr to say that i was not a candidate for lap banding but for gastric bypass. Thanks, jg
