  1. Did they give u a required number of days to wear it or did they just say to wear it everyday until the surgery date?
  2. Thanks a lot. I'm hoping they will be understanding because the thought of losing coverage and then having to start all over again with new insurance hurts me.
  3. I spoke to the nurse yesterday and she said I was on track for a December surgery. But I am worried the pulmonologist and sleep test might delay me. I did an at home test, but it was inconclusive. Now I think I might have to do an in person study and I read that some docs require at least 30 days of using a cpap before clearance. My insurance says it up to the doc to decide the amount of time. How long did you guy have to wear a cpap before clearance? Did your pulmo require you to wear one before clearance at all? I dont want this to delay me, especially since I will lose insurance eligibility next spring.
  4. I have healthfirst Medicaid and I live in NYC. I am doing 3 months of required nutritionist meetings. And I wanted to know what the approval process was like for new yorkers with Medicaid.
  5. I had my first meeting with the nutritionist last Thursday (first of three). It lasted about 40 mins and she just asked questions about my diet history and eating habits, and then she emailed me a packet with guidelines about the 2-week pre op diet and the post op diet. Then she quickly ended the meeting as soon as I said I had no more questions. It felt very abrupt and not what I thought it would be. Has anyone else's experience been like that with the nutritionist? Is this how it is?
  6. Has anyone ever had issues with getting your test results from a required specialist? I went to a cardiologist a week ago and was not given the paperwork results for my echocardiogram. This clinic has no website where I can view my results and the doctor is hard to get in contact with unless you make an appointment and the wait times at this place is horrible (be well primary in Brooklyn). How did you guys get around this problem if you ever had it?

My only vitamins levels that are low is Vitamin D, 25-Hydroxy. I should be at 32 and I'm at 19 so I'll take some supplements and eat more fish. I don't have a surgery date yet, I'm still preop but I am still worrying about this stuff
  8. Is there anything in my preop blood and urine test that could potentially prevent me from getting the surgery? Like hep b or a fatty liver?

  10. Hi. I have an appointment with a surgeon affiliated with NYU Langone (Dr. Geroge Ferzli) on Monday afternoon and I wanted to know your guys' experience with them. What was the process with them like, did they require the 6 month supervised diet? (my insurance is NY HealthFirst Medicaid managed care and I dont think they require that). What was discussed in your consultation? How long did the first meeting take? I am very nervous, and I need some insight.
