Have you had a leak in your port/tubing and had to have it replaced?

I have a leak, i was wondering about how much it costs to repair it, Thanks -
Thank you all, i guess it was the reflux & gas because i am doing fine now. I was scared for a while, thanks again.

OK here is my story, i hope someone can shed some light on this. I was banded in June, everything went fine & i have had no problems. I got a fill in Sept or Oct, well i never felt any restriction, still could eat whatever i wanted. I went back to get another fill Monday, he said i had no fluid in band, which was no suprise to me, so he figured i have a leak and put some thicker fluid in. Well i was fine on fluids that day. The next day, i couldn't hardly get anything down, and having major problems breathing. I can handle not eating, but i really need to be able to breathe lol. So i am thinking the band is too tight & maybe if i wait it out , it will get better - no such luck, so i call the dr. & go in Thursday. He unfills me a bit, but says he can't imagine the band having anything to do with my shortness of breath. He sends me to have a chest x ray. He sees nothing wrong with my lungs, alot of gas and some signs that my band might have slipped but not totally. So , he unfills me completely. Tells me to come back in 4 weeks & if things aren't better i might have to have an upper GI. So, i am thinking ok, things are going to be better now. Well they weren't, i still couldn't eat or breathe, and having bad stomach pains and in my chest. I am just worried. Can acid reflux make you not be able to eat and cause shortness of breath? Thanks for listening, i know it was long. JJ

HELP...Is this the right thing to do???????
JJinLA replied to April's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It is something to be nervous about, but the odds are in your corner, sweetie. As far as telling, I told anyone. I mean, it isn't like you couldn't or can' t (lol) look at me & tell i am fat, everyone was happy i was doing something about it. Do your research & that will help you know if you are making the right decision - that will help your nerves. Good Luck! -
Lead up to band marital problems

I could write for an hour about this thread. I will keep it short, though. My husband was such a jerk when i had surgery, would go from yelling at me for nothing to crying because he was scared something was going to happen. He was so mean to me, i cannot even begin to tell you & i would have to use alot of words that are not appropriate lol. Even the first month or so afterwards he still wasn't very nice. Now that everything is back to normal & it is like nothing every happened, it never even gets mentioned. Ride it out & see what happens, if it continues a few months after your surgery - leave his sorry ass lol. JJ -
That is all i do, but i don't feel as though it is enough.

I do oatmeal, is that good?

Well they are all you can eat buffets & they charge a flat fee, I don't think anyone should be down on them for not offering a discount to WLS patients. I just know that i don't want any special treatment because of my situation. It was me that made myself fat not them, they shouldn't have to compensate for it.

HI! I went to TJ and had surgery with Dr. Kuri alone. It really wasn't any big deal. I wanted to go alone, i had relatives that wanted to go with me but i didn't want any added stress ( relatives naturally get on my nerves lol) I wanted my husband to stay home & keep things as normal as possible for our son. You will be fine! Good Luck

I am 5'2" and small boned at that. I think i should probably weigh 110 or 115, but i would be sooooo happy to be 140. I think it all depends on where you as a person feel comfortable. Some people can be totally confident & satisfied in a 14, some have to be smaller. I would love to see a 12 again lol.
