Hi all! Just a little note...I have been using fitday.com to track what I eat. It is free to join and you can make up your own foods so that what you are eating is correctly counted. I have been saving all the nutitional information to enter into the food journal. You can also track your exercise and calories consumed vs. calories burned. I find it to be very helpful in understanding healthy and non healthy food items and what exercises are truly beneficial. Good luck!

I am starting to get hungry...I have actually cheated and ate things that I know I shouldn't have. But I am getting back on track. My Dr. said that once I am able to eat food, even if it is only mushies, that I will start to feel hungry. It's all about will power I guess. My first fill is Monday, October 20. I can't wait! What about every one else? How are you doing and when's your first fill? Also, is anyone from CT? I would love to have some one "near" me to share and maybe even work out together!! Let me know ! :crying:

I hope everyone is doing well! I am currently in the "puree" stage and I was wondering if some one could give me a detailed example of their daily meal schedule. What are you eating and drinking and when? Thanks for the help? ~Amanda~

Hi everyone! I have been reading what everyone is eating and it is definetely different then what my dr. wants me to eat! I am on Clear Liquids until Tueday, 9/23 and then I can move to full liquids. Then every Tuesday I change my diet to pureed food, soft foods and then the advanced bariactric diet. So far this week, I have been drinking Isopure which is flavored Water with 40g of Protein in each bottle (can buy at Vitamin World or GNC). I freeze the drink in an ice cube tray and then I put 4 cubes in a cup and then add water. I have also been drinking, chicken broth and eating sugar free Jell-O and popsicles. Is anyone else on this type of diet after their surgery?

Well, I am home. One day post-op and I feel great! I had to arrive at the hospital at 615am and was in the operating room by 730am. I was out of recovery and in my hospital room at 1100am. It wasn't panful at all. I was actually surprised by that. I got my iv removed a couple of hours later and was able to wear my own clothes! Exciting!!! I have had no problem takin in my fluids and walking around. I couldn't wait to get released from the hospital this morning. I was actually doing so well that I was able to walk myself out to my ride. I hope every one elses surgeries went as well as mine!!!! Here is to the first day of the rest of our lives!!

Any1 else from CT ? New From Connecticut
Brenna's Mama posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
:thumbup:Hi everyone! I am new here. I am going to be 25 in a couple of weeks. I went a seminar on June 23; had bloodwork and saw the Psychologist on July 7th; saw my primary and the dietition on July 14, and had all of my paperwork for a "medical necessity" approval submitted on August 22. Received the greatest news of my life (besides that I was pregnant) on August 25, I HAD BEEN APPROVED!! My pre-op appt. was on 9/4 and my surgery is on Sept. 16! I am currently on the liquid pre-diet using Optifast. I can have 6 shakes and 2 bar (that I don't eat), and some fat free chicken broth and sugar free Jell-O. I am actually surprised at the fact that I am not hungry at all. The shakes are delicious and I have lost 13lbs since the 9/4!! My surgeon is Dr. Craig Floch out of Norwalk, CT. His staff and him are wonderful people who really take the time to answer all of my questions!! I have a daughter who is 13months old and the light of my life and I am having Lap Band done to not only improve my health and life, but to improve hers! Is there anyone else here from CT? Good luck and congrats to all the fellow banders!! -
My sugery is also on the 16th of September @ 7:30am!! I am so excited, but the nerves are starting to kick in!! Good luck to everyone else with their surgeries!!

Dealing with the Pre-OP.....
Brenna's Mama replied to ReadyInCT's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi! I'm new here. I started my liquid diet on 9/4/08. My surgery is 9/16, so only 2 1/2 days to go! I am allowed to have 6 shakes a day and 2 bars (that I don't eat b/c I don't like how they taste), in addition to other liquids. So far, I have found it to be easy. I only drink the shakes, fat free chicken broth and sugar free Jell-O, that's it!! I know everyone doesn't want to hear that, but I keep telling myself that I have to do it because I want to live "forever" for my 13 month old daughter. Due to my weight I had trouble conceiving (PCOS) and now that I have blessed to have her, I use her as my inspiration to stick with it! I have lost 13 pounds since the 4th and I feel great. Any one having trouble sticking to the pre-op diet...it may help to find your inspiration as I have! Wish me luck! -
