Have I missed anyone?
-
I have just noticed that too. I have heard it doesn't last long. I have heard some say it is because of too little calories or too much Protein or not enough or just rapid wt loss. I guess as long as I don't become bald it is something I can live with if it means not being morbidly obese anymore.
-
I haven't had a pain at my port. I have gotten a pain or "stitch" in my left side if I eat too much. I would call your doctor and let him know. He should be able to answer that question. I know everyone is SO different. Great job on the 35# so far!!!

Checking in late (again) for the V-Day challenge. Please put me down for a -0.4lb.Are you wanting to join our April 1st challenge?

We will fill in the smiley faces every week. That way we know which weeks we reported in and who we are missing. The last space will be only 4 days since that is when we will hit April 1st.
Anyone else going to sign up for the challenge? The more the merrier!:tt2:

Yep that's me. I got you down.
-
julie.ann - my before picture was quite a revelation for me as well. Maybe I should go find it again (it's on my work computer) - maybe looking at it will do me some good.I'm feeling a little frustrated right now. I was losing at a very good rate, and have slowed down the last month considerably. The fact that I can eat bread and am feeling less control over my cravings isn't helping. I think I may be due for a fill when I go back in a couple of weeks.
Can you go in soon er than that? How long has it been since your last fill? Is your doctor flexible for you? I canceled my last appt and although I think that I would be okay with a fill, but so far I am doing okay and sice I got stuck once I think that I would rather not be on the tight side.
Let us know how you are doing!
-
I'm so glad that you are feeling some restriction! It took me a while before the full force hit me. That is great news. Go with it!
-
I think that best therapy for me would seeing myself in pictures and liking what I see. I was at that point 9 years ago when I lost weight due to a medical problem. I liked what I saw. Maybe that would help. I think that what I see in the mirror has NEVER jived with what I see in picutres. I know now that what I saw in the mirror before surgery was not my true weight. I saw me as about 40 lbs lighter than I was. I didn't realize how out of control I had gotten until I saw myself in picture and almost didn't recognize me because I was so big and uncomfortable looking. I can't wait to not recognize myself because I am so slim!

Don: I think it is great you have started bowling again. Isn't it nice to get more active. To have the energy to get more active!
nrpnrp: I look at clothes and think that either they would fit me and they are too big or they look too small and then they fit. It is a great thing.
I do worry about my self image. I still look in the mirror and see (although a difference) still someone that is FAT. Yes, I am still fat. I still weigh over 200 on my little 5'4" frame, but I am almost halfway to goal. I know already that I will need a Tummy Tuck to be happy with my body after I reach my goal, but I'm afraid...what if that doesn't even make me happy?

Pre-op tests?Dr. K operates on obese but otherwise generally health patients. He doesn't do pre-op testing. He will go over it all with you. He is great about giving you all the time to ask all the questions you have. I have heard of some getting lab and EKG at their primary care doctor's office. I wish I would have had a cardiac panel drawn to check my cholesterol and triglycerides and such, but that is just to see where I was and how far I've come. I would have liked my A1C checked to see how high my blood sugars had been running. Again that is all just for information. I am anal retentive about having as much information as possible. I even have 3 excel spread sheets to track differnt parts of my weight loss.
I guess that's the nurse in me.
Dr. K is very kind will give you all the information you ask for!
-
Can someone tell me what their pre-op consisted of? Thanks.Sure. It was basically modified Atkins. Absolubtely no bread, Pasta, rice or potatoes in an effort to shrink the liver and get rid of all the fatty stuff. Three healthy meals a day and Protein Shakes in between. That was when Dr. K said to me if you aren't hungry then don't eat. That is very important. That was when my eating habits chaged big time!
-
I guess that would be me. I'll put you down for a goal of -12. We are going until April 1st. We will still post on Saturdays. Let me know if the time table changes your goal.
-
I am celebrating!!!:party:I reached 100 pounds lost. Yeah! Put me down for a 2lb loss this week. I am at 187. I am making a goal for the April Fool's challenge of 12 pounds. Dee, you have such a way with words. You explained what most of us are feeling. I know that without the band, I would have never, EVER, have lost this much weight, but we have to work hard also.Bella -
I am dancing for you!:rose::rose::Dancing_sorry:That is incredible! In just 7 Months! WOW! You are truely an inspiration.

I put myself down for a 3.5 loss. My April Fool's Day goal is 19 lbs (and that means wonderland since I am 218.7 now). That is going to be hard for me to hit and I will be traveling out of town on buisness for a week during that! That is always what derailed my weight loss before the band. It will be tough to work out and eat right on the road! I guess it will be a big test for me because I have to do it again in April!
Good luck girls. I can't wait to see how you have done this week!
Let me know how many want in on our next challage and what your goal is!
-
I don't know. Lovely are you out there?
-
Down 2.9 for a weight of 218.9
I can't believe I finally broke the 220's! My April Fools day goal is to be in onderland. I think that might be pushing it a bit....but a girls got to dream big!
-
I have broken out of the 220's and hit 119.7 today. I just realized this morning that my new April Fool's Day goal will be to hit onederland! I just can't believe it!Okay before anyone else catches it I did not just lose 101.1 lbs overnight. That is 219.7
The other number is a little cartoonish!

Wow Adorkable. What a difference. But both pictures are beautiful!
-
Wow, please don't get pissy about it. I just have concerns and wonder if anyone has experienced it firsthand. I am only asking for advice and first hand experience. No, not pissy at all, I promise.
-
I can feel your frustration and I am feeling the same way lately. It seemed like the band worked great 2-3 weeks post op. I really did feel satisfied on a little food. Now I can eat as much as I always did but do get stuck....I'm almost grateful for that at least I know it's doing something! I've only had one fill....I still believe if I didn't get the band I would be gaining though. It does seem like a lot of money to spend for 15 lbs. weight loss:blushing:You have lost 15lbs since surgery. Isn't that about 2 lbs a week? The expected is 1-2 lbs per week. That is great and you are on target to lose 50-100 lbs in a year.
