    Any October Bandsters!??!?!

    Vickie- I'm so sorry you had all that happen. I know it is one of my biggest fears. If it makes you feel better I have heard even with xray these things happen. Sometimes you just get tighter after your adjustment. Nazzy - good luck on your fill. I get my third fill on Friday. Let me know how yours goes. I'm worried about getting too tight. I drive 7 hours one way for a fill. I'm on the road 14 out of 24 hours. It sucks, but the fills are only $15 and it is my doc that did my band. But if I ever have to go for an emergency unfil it is going to be a long trip.

    Any October Bandsters!??!?!

    I think you might be tight, but some people are much tighter in the morning and by noon it gets better. You also may have some swelling. Warm liquids is a good idea. See how you are feeling later today or tomorrow. Things may settle down for you. If not then I would give your doctor a call for a small unfil.

    Friday Weigh-in

    Okay, Put me down for -2.0 lbs this week. I made some bad food choices last weekend and I guess my body has to catchup sometime. I lost Saturday, stayed the same on Sunday. :redface:I gained Monday and Tuesday. Lost the other 3 days. I know, please don't lecture me. I should be happy. I get a fill in one week. I want to hit -75 by then. I am happy. I my brain still can't quite wrap itself around the fact that I only weigh 212.7. Good luck to all this week!

    recently banded and so much pain!!!

    When it got the worst ever in my shoulders it helped me to lay flat on the floor. I don't know why, but it helped. Will gas-X help. Some say yes, some say no. I took it. I don't know if it helped, but at least I had something to try. Good luck. It will get better.

    What to do??

    I share an office with someone that has had bypass. She lost a lot of weight fast, but 3 1/2 years later she has already started to put the weight back on and has to diet like before the surgery. I bet if she had the option to get the lap band she would. In 3 1/2 years if I need an adjustment I can get one. I am happy with the choice I made.

    I can't believe you didn't put your scale on your list? What kind of President of the SWA are you? You should be ashamed of yourself! Just for that you are required to drink 3 glasses of water and weigh yourself dirrectly before bedtime! *hehe* That is probablly what I packed....I went on a 7 hr road trip and spent a couple of nights in the hotel. I took hardly anything to the hospital, but I was only there about 5 hours.

    2/22/09 Scale Whore

    I have one that I keep track of my weight and then what I would weigh if I lost 2 lbs a week and 3 lbs a week. Then that graphs. I also keep track of when I 10%, 20%, 30% etc.... and what that weight is or will be and the date I reach it. I also keep track of what I weigh each month on my bandiversary and how much I have lost each month. Whew! I think that I might need to make it to the OCD portion of the meeting!

    I love the agenda. BG you are SO FUNNY!!!! I too graph. I have 3 different excel spreadsheets. I LOVE them!!! I just can't get enough! I think that SWA may need their own forum! Oh, We need to have our meetings early in the morning after we have gone to the bathroom and before we shower. It goes without saying that we will wear the SAME clothes too because we don't don't want that to influence the scale!!! I weigh on the Wii so I am in the living room....to keep my kids out of intense therapy I don't weigh myself naked. (But I do wear the same cloths every day!)
  15. Well, I postponed it from the beginning of this month until March 6th. Just a week from Friday. Hubby is off work for a month because of a broken bone in his foot and recovering from surgery. I am hoping to be able to afford a trip to Denver. The fill only costs me $15 so it is just the gas and overnight fees I have to pay for.

    Who are you telling?

    Just wondering out of all of you that decided to keep this journey a secret from MOST people how many have stuck to that? My hubby, friend and doctor know aned that is it. Anyone else still keeping it a secret?

    BG-- I don't think that weighing DAILY makes you a you a scale whore because if you are then I am. I have heard of people weighing after going to the bathroom, after each meal, everytime they pass the bathroom. That just takes it to a another level. I do it daily for motivation. What did I do right? What should I do different? You keep weighing every day.....you are in good company!

  22. This is so true. Last night I ate thin crust pizza. It was a splurge for me. I used to call it a cheat, but I didn't cheat. Eating something off my plan like pizza once in a long while is okay. I used to use this as a reason to stop eating healthy. I failed. It was that perfect or nothing. In years past I would have packed it in last night and ate a desert and maybe even more pizza. Luckily the band won't let you eat a whole pizza in one setting! Since I have made this a lifestyle change I know that today is a new day and today is the day to eat healthy and make good choices. Yesterday is in the past and I'm not a bad person because I ate something less healthy than what I usually eat.

    Half Way!!!! - 71 lbs!!!!!! Four months Post-op!!

    Naw...that can't be right. I have kept track every week. I did lose 8 lbs the first week after banding and 14 lbs the two weeks before. Otherwise it has averaged about 3 lbs a week I think. That is usually my goal for the week.

    Well BG 14 lbs was post-op weight loss. But my highest weight I saw on the scale was 285.5 on October 10th (I think) and it is just over 4 months past that. Overall I just can't complain!!! Thanks KLynch. I think that even when you plateau you have to be positive or else you will get caught up in that negative trap and then I would want to feed the beast! (The beast is OBESITY and HEAD HUNGER!)
  25. Jmegirl - thanks I forgot. By the time we are done with this everyone will be ready for me to retire from keep score! :tt2: Hey that is great about your weight loss jaime. Are you noticing alot of difference with your meals? Everyone is doing great. Thanks for posting your progress. We are only missing 2 for the week so far! Bella - don't be too hard on yourself. It is a process. Sometimes your body just has to catch up.
