    Friday Weigh-in

I was out of town until last night. I am happy to report that even with eating out I am down 2.4 from last Friday. That gives me a weight of 204.6!!! I hope to hit ONEderland by April 1st!

I was gone Tues-Fri. I was very scared about getting off of my routine and eating out every meal. WHEW! I have another trip next month. This is the time every year that I lose my momentum and give up. This is a huge victory for me! Good luck to everyone else too! After weigh ins this week I will start posting totals. We are getting close to April 1st!

    Friday Weigh-in

I am very nervous to weigh in Saturday morning since I have been out of town this week until late tomorrow night. I'm afraid of what the scale will say. So far I have only strayed once and that was eating a few chips and salsa last night before supper, but I ordered fillet migion so I was pretty good. I can't wait to get home and get back to my routine. I am not OCD....maybe just a little anal retentive. I need my routine. I've been doing good since October. This is the trip every year that usually derails my weight loss attempt. This one and one in April. When I left on Tuesday morning I was only 6.5# away from ONEderland. I'm so nervous......:tt2:

    Friday Weigh-in

Make sure you get calories in you system in the morning to jump start your metabolism. Keep exercising and maybe kick start into a low carb cycle to help kick cravings and concentrate on solid Protein. Nothing soft. Those are my suggestions. A plateau for a month would be really tough. I can't imagine even though I know my time will come.

    Any October Bandsters!??!?!

I have set my Subscribed Threads page as one of my home pages (I have vista) so that I can see right away if there is a new post on any of my threads. That has kept the frustration with the website at bay for me. I work out 3-6 days a week. I keep my carbs pretty low which isn't hard since I am full after I eat my protein anyway. I had my 3rd fill 2 weeks ago and I have my 4th in 2 weeks. I'm taking a big step too because I am taking a friend with me so I will be telling her about my surgery. I hope it is the right move. I get worried. So far the only ones that know are my hubby and a good friend and my doctor. My other friend's hubby told her she should come along with me. I got a kick out of that. (Her hubby is my doctor, so he knows and she doesn't.) Anyway...keep moving along. I think everyone is doing great. Has anyone heard from Molly lately?

    2/22/09 Scale Whore

Okay girls. I am calling an emergency meeting of the SWA. I am needing some encouragement. I am 7 hours from home until Friday. Do you know what that means? NO SCALE! I even thought about packing one, but I use the Wii....kinda hard to pack. Especially with the kids on spring break. I have not gone more than 5 days total and never two days in a row without weighing in since my surgery in October. I am SCARED TO DEATH that I am going to gain! This trip and thee I have in APril are the two trips that have derailed my weight loss in the past. I have done really well today, but I am eating out for almost every meal. I say that because I packed chicken salad and cottage cheese and I am keeping it iced in my room so in case I am having problems I have something handy. HELP!!!!!!!

    Any October Bandsters!??!?!

Lovely: I am so sorry. I have been in that situation and in a time like this all I can say is that I am very sorry for the loss of your loved one. You have been in my thoughts and prayers today. I'm sorry I couldn't post earlier. I agree with you about getting that excitement back. Although I wouldn't want to be back there waiting for surgery. I was one of the last ones and as my day approached the excitement decreased because people were recovering. I am getting excited again. I am only 6.5 pounds from ONEderland and just shy of the 80lbs mark!!!! I think we need to all post one positive thing (SV or NSV) every week! Let's hear it! I am away from my home for the rest of the week and away from my scale. Please wish me luck. Eating out almost every meal. So far so good!
  9. I think all of my main pointers can really be found in my blog. The best thing I do for my weight loss is to keep track of everything I eat in an on-line journal. It breaks down my calories, protein, carbs, fiber. I use www.sparkpeople.com but there are others out there that are also free. You can look at my food journal by finding me on there. My name is nursemom5. That is about all I use their website for now, but they have great articles and such!

  10. I also have worked very hard to know the difference between head hunger and real hunger. I think that is what gets most bandsters in trouble if they aren't seeing results. And the difference can be VERY TRICKY to figure out. Even now I have problems with this. Measure/weigh your food at least until you become accustum to the serving sizes. It took about 3 months for my changes to becoem a lifestyle. When I travel I carry a small bag cooler with me with chicken salad and cottage cheese, or turkey breast for when I get hungry. I am rarely or never caught away from my house when hunger sets in without having a plan. Even if it is just taking a little serving of string cheese with me.

  11. Don't drink with meals. I started getting lax about this and I have noticed a difference, so it is back to basics of eating and drinking. Wait at least 30min before and after.

I posted my guidelines in my blog. Good luck. Keep me posted! I really go more low carb/high protein, but when you eat solid protein first that happens.

I don't eat bread, pasta, rice or potatoes except for a very occasional splurg on thin crust pizza.

Trust me...if I can do this then so can you!!!

  13. whew! Your lucky it came up. I was Pbing for 90 minutes of pain until it went down. It has only happened once and I hope that it doesn't happen again to me or you either! Take care.
  14. As you can see by my stats below in the last 5 months I have really done pretty well. I am NOT complaining about my progress at all. My concern is that although I usually don't eat any more than 1 1/2 cups of food I am worried about having a stretched pouch. I have in the past month or so eaten pizza twice and I am shocked by how much I can eat. I know I shouldn't eat it and I usually do VERY WELL by today I ate about half of a red barron thin crust pizza. That shouldn't happen. I can feel that I ate too much, but not like I felt in the begining. No pain. Just a full feeling. I don't get hungry too often. Every 4-5 hours. I eat 3 meals a day and rarely have a snack. My biggest problem has been constipation, but being able to eat this much without much fight from my band worries me. I thought I just needed a fill to help me get full faster, but after eating so much I am wondering if that isn't the problem. I have heard that a liquid diet for a week or so can shrink a slightly stretched pouch. I'm thinking about trying this for the next 4 days or so. I know you may think I should run to my doctor. I have a fill in 3 weeks and I thought I really needed it. Keep in mind I live 7 hours away from my doctor. Please give me your feedback. __________________ High/Surgery/Current/Goal 285.5/ 271 / 207.0/ 142 Banded - 10/29/08 Three fills - 4.1cc in 10cc band April 1st Challenge

I'm all swollen. I hope you don't mind. Let's hear how you guys are doing. I've been too busy to do much on-line lately and things just keep getting busier. We are down to 2 1/2 weeks left and I'm afraid I won't be making my goal, but I will keep trying. I was hoping for ONEderland. May I bit off more than I could chew! Good luck to all of you. I am all liquids for 4 days. I'm afraid I have been able to eat far more than I should so I am going to liquids for 4 days and see how I feel after that. I have had other bansters tell me how well this has worked for them to help them feel "full" after they go back to reqular meals. Wish me luck. I got a fill a week ago and I think I feel less now than I did before the fill. I have 3 weeks until I head back to see Dr. K.

    Oooops! Stretched pouch

Thanks Gingerbug, I bought some protein shakes and I will try fluids for the next 4 days. After that I am at a conference. I don't know how to explain a liquid diet there. Besides I lost 75lbs since these people saw me last. I don't want them to think I did it on a liquid diet. That just would give them a healthy idea of my weight loss! I'll let you know how it goes!

    What is wrong?!?!? Stretched Pouch?!?!

Hello friend-- How has the lap band journey been going for you? I know we have traded messages but you haven't told me how your journey is going. Send me a private message and catch me up. I have heard from one that knows she had a stretched pouch (saw on fluro) and she did liquid for a week and it helped so I am going to TRY a liquid diet for 4 days and see if there is any difference. That will get me to my conference and I will see how things go from there.

My pants fell down at work!

Oh Sarah... That has been a fear of mine. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) my "pooch" in the front keeps them up. Usually the part that is way too big first is the legs. I felt like I was wearing clown pants. Anyway I'm sure no one noticed. Everyone is always wrapped up in there own life....especially when it is windy and cold. Don't waste money on a belt. Honey just buy some new pants.

    Any October Bandsters!??!?!

I have a question for you. How much were you told to eat? 1/2cup? 1 cup? 1 1/2cup? I know 3-4 oz of protein then veggies, but have you been given a guideline? Molly - We haven't heard from you. How are you doing?

    Friday Weigh-in

Whew! After pigging out last Saturday I gained 2.5 then lost it and lost another 2.9 so I am down 2.9 since my last post. I'm glad this week is over!!! WT: 207!!!!! I'm getting to ONEderland!!!
  24. I just saw your post on the Dr K group. Sorry. I don't emials when someone posts there.

Things went great! Dr. K is really kind and understanding! His staff is great. I have had 3 fills. Banded life can be GREAT!!! Learn the difference between head hunger and real hunger. Start that process now. I think that it has been one of the top reasons I have done so well.

If you aren't hungry....don't eat. It sounds simple and obvious, but when Dr. K said it, well, It just kind of finally sunk in.

Good luck. Let us know how things go!
